In this way, our school festival ended successfully.
However, the festival itself is not over yet.
So I called Shi-chan to the corner of the classroom where her classmates were sharing their joy, and invited her to join me for a look around later.
“Shi-chan, if you’d like to come with—-“
“Let’s go around! I want to look around with Takkun!”
Before I could finish, Shi-chan replied with a gleam in her eye.
I was a little surprised by her enthusiasm, but I was happy to see that she felt the same way, so I smiled back.
In this way, I was able to visit the festival with Shi-chan, but there was one problem.
–What should I wear?
Yes, I was currently dressed as a waiter, while Shi-chan was dressed in a stimulating maid’s uniform.
Wandering around the school in this way would naturally attract a lot of attention from the people around you, that’s for sure.
So I asked Shi-chan.
“What should I do? Should I change into my uniform?”
“What are you talking about, Takkun? It’s a school festival today.”
But Shi-chan, who replied with a devilish grin, seemed to have no intention of changing clothes at all.
But when I thought that would be a problem, Shi-chan added more words.
“Takkun, think about it. Whether I’m dressed like this or in uniform, it’s the same thing, isn’t it?”
When Shi-chan said that, I thought for sure that she was right.
After all, Shi-chan is such a celebrity that she attracts attention when she goes around the festival.
Of course, there is the issue of her current attire being too stimulating.
But that wasn’t the basic problem.
Rather, as Shi-chan said, today is a cultural festival, and I felt that her current attire was more natural than her school uniform.
Well, there is such a thing as appropriateness, but more than that, I understood the emotion that Shi-chan was conveying to me.
–I knew that she was enjoying her maid outfit right now.
So, with a wry smile on my face, I replied, “I guess so,” and we both decided to go around the festival dressed as we were.
We decided to enjoy the festival, and the extraordinary moment of being a waiter and a maid, to the fullest.
We walked out of the classroom and decided to look around the classrooms of the first-year students.
We had been serving customers at the maid cafe, which was by far the most popular cafe in the school year, and the two of us coming out of the classroom drew a lot of attention from the rest of the class.
As I thought, Shi-chan’s current appearance was attracting a lot of attention, not only from the boys, but also from the girls, who were looking at her with reddened cheeks, and I was honestly impressed with Shi-chan.
“....Mu, they are watching us after all.”
Shi-chan’s cheeks puffed out a little bit in frustration at the situation.
Even that disgruntled expression was too cute, combined with her current outfit.
“Well, it’s still a bit stimulating looking like that, isn’t it?”
I replied to her with a laugh.
I told her that I couldn’t blame her for going out dressed like this.
However, Shi-chan whispered to me in a dissatisfied voice, “Takkun is a bit insensitive after all.”
I don’t know what it is, but I decided to change the subject in a hurry to appease Shi-chan, who seemed a little upset.
“Hey, Shi-chan, look! It’s a haunted house!”
“Huh? Oh, yes. I see.”
“Wanna go?”
“Eh? No, the ghosts are...”
“Okay, let’s go!”
She was puzzled by the sudden change of topic, but when she realized that I was going to the haunted house, she made a gesture of refusal.
But it didn’t matter to me, because I had already taken that reaction into consideration when I asked her out.
The quality of an amateur haunted house is probably not that great, so I decided to pull Shi-chan’s hand and go straight into the haunted house.
When I entered the haunted house, I found that the classroom, which was closed off by a curtain, was covered with a black cloth, and the atmosphere was so dark and creepy that I could only see my surroundings dimly.
“Kuu, It’s more authentic than I thought.”
“Don’t leave me again, Takkun.”
I was interested in the fact that the haunted house was surprisingly well done, while Shi-chan was just plain scared.
Seeing Shi-chan like that, I remembered the haunted house at the amusement park that day.
Shi-chan was quite scared at that time, so I knew she was not immune to this kind of thing, and I thought it was cute that she was.
But then again, it’s an amateur haunted house, and this is an ordinary classroom, so there’s no space to spare.
I walked slowly to the back of the room, hoping to reassure Shi-chan, who was clinging to my arm in fear.
When I reached the end of the narrow passageway, I found a large, blatantly handmade ghost figurine on the side.
It was, after all, made by an amateur, and I’m sorry to say it, but it was very poorly made.
However, it also gave me a sense of a cultural festival, which made me smile a little.
I think it’s important that everyone has put in a lot of effort and made something from scratch.
However, it wasn’t until that time that I was able to take such a sigh—–.
Suddenly, the ghost that seemed to be a figurine stood up, shouted loudly, and showed signs of attacking us.
This caught me off guard, and I was surprised to see it.
And since I was so surprised, of course Shi-chan must have been very surprised, because she squeezed my arm with a huge smile on her face.
Then, just like that day at the amusement park, I felt a soft, squishy touch on my arm.
With the way I was dressed now, the feeling was even more vivid, or rather, it was just amazing.
As we watched, I thought I heard a “tsk” sound coming from inside the ghost, but I pretended not to notice, thinking that a ghost would never click its tongue like that.
Thus, we left the haunted house, having been subjected to a surprise that was bound to surprise us, perhaps because we were amateurs.
Shi-chan, who was walking next to me, looked a little bit tired as she gasped for breath, as if she was really surprised.
I thought I had gone a little overboard, but then I remembered that neither of us had eaten much food today, so I decided to go to the stalls in the schoolyard to cheer her up.
