Terence fell into deep thought. He silently contemplated on the authenticity of Julia's words.

He had known the Gu family for so many years, but this news was new to him. No one ever brought up the possibility that Julia was not Mandy's biological daughter.

"I also don't want to believe it." Julia smiled bitterly. "That's why I got mad and hit Jean after hearing that.

Listen carefully, Jean. If you talk nonsense in front of me again in the future, I won't be kind to you anymore."

"So..you don't believe what she said?" Terence butted in. He was visibly confused.

"Of course I don't," Julia quickly replied. She looked sadly at him. "I grew up with my mother ever since I could remember. I'm sure I'm her biological daughter. Even though she clearly favors Jean, that doesn't mean she is not my mother.

I just don't understand; why Jean

"Don't worry. I will," Julia smiled. "Thank you, Amy."
