In fact, he had made it clear. They were willing to compensate Jean in other ways, such as giving her money. Marriage, however, was practically out of the question.

This scene almost exceeded Tina’s tolerance limit. She impatiently pulled Terence over. "Come with me."
She dragged Terence all the way upstairs and pushed him into an empty room. Upon closing the door tightly, she asked, "What the hell are you doing? Are you really going to marry that Jean?"
"What do you think?" Terence smiled noncommittally.
Tina was stunned. She fixated her gaze at Terence and asked, "What are you planning in the end?"
