Almark – Northern Sword, Southern Wand

Volume 2 - CH 16

A claw?from the?behind?caught Almark, and by the time he striked , Almark leapt into the gap beside the two Jalanons.

The newly appeared one, Jalanon, grunted with his mouth clamped shut.

Almark had dodged a blow from behind and struck a counterattack to its face.

"He is a ridiculous guy,"

With his mind drawn back to Almark, Torque finally reached Eldo. He tapped him on the cheek and heard a low whimper. He is alive.

Without a moment's pause for relief, Torque launched his magic. The sketchy magic would have caused Almark to get caught in the middle of it. But, well, it's worse for someone who can't evade this level of magic.

The fingertips of Torque's left hand are filled with flames. From thumb to little finger, one each, five in total. They are full of flames, an application of the demon's fire spell .

He clenches the five fingers into a tiny fist, then opens his hand vigorously toward the monsters

Five small fireballs flew, each? had a separate trajectory.

Three hit the first Jalanon, who had its back turned to Torque, and another flew toward Almark, but as Torque expected, Almark twisted his body to dodge and hit the chest of the second Jalanon. The last shot deflected wide and fell to the ground.

His control was weak due to his exhaustion. Torque clicked his tongue.

But the effect was immediate. Jalanon, who had taken three shots to the back, was rolling around on the ground in agony. Smoke was also rising from its back, as if its body hair had ignited.

The other one was also visibly flustered by the sudden fireball. Not missing the opportunity, Almark pounced upon it.

It must have realized that a blow would not be enough, and it stabbed a tree branch mercilessly into the single eye of the beast.

Torque frowned and turned away.

Almark, not minding breaking the branch, plunges it deep into the monocular.

There is no change in Almark's expression as he is covered in blood. He carries out the necessary moves without hesitation.

After a hair-raising scream, Jalanon stopped moving.

There was only he first?Jalanon? ?. Rolling around, he somehow extinguishes the fire on his back and turns to Almark.

The tree branch is broken and he is now unarmed, but Almark does not seem frightened in the slightest. He looked at Jalanon with cold eyes and suddenly waved his right hand. Jalanon staggered back, holding his single eye. He threw a nut that Almark had somehow picked up.

Almark leaped at Jalanon with all his might. Jalanon staggered as he was suddenly knocked out of his stance by Almark's body. Almark dexterously entangled his legs with Jalanon's legs and pushed him down to the ground.

The corpse of Jalanon, whom he had just knocked down, was lying on the ground at the end of Jalanon's fall. The claw of the corpse's right hand was pointing upward, as if Almark had somehow planted it there as well.

Almark pushed Jalanon down on that claw, putting all his weight on it. Jalanon's screams echoed through the forest as he was pierced from back to chest. Even so, Almark continued to push Jalanon onto the claw with all his might.

Almark finally raised his body from Jalanon's body, which had stopped moving.

After spitting blood on the ground, he looked at Torque.

"Thank you, Torque. If it weren't for your spell and your call, I would have been in danger."

The sun was shining through the trees just as Almark, who was covered in blood, smiled fearlessly. He looked like a noble knight after a battle, and Torque felt a slight jealousy.

" you said "I'll take care of it," you've got a tough fight "

"Yes."

Almark gave a carefree smile.

"Torque, you called my name for the first time just now. That made me happy."

He did, indeed. It was quick, but he was also hesitant. For a long time, he had avoided calling him by his name. If he did, he would be acknowledging him as a member of the class. It was a trivial stubbornness.

(What a guy ,) He felt a chill run down his spine. (Did he e? ?ven think about such a thing during this battle? This guy is really something else. He was in the same category as Wallis.)

But Torque now knew that it was not uncomfortable for him to admit it.

For some reason, he was glad that he had finally realized that he had called Almark's name after his own struggle.

Of course, Torque did not show any such emotion.

"Yes i did ."

After saying this with a sly grin, Torque still couldn't hold back and smiled .
