Son, “Mom” Will Back You

CH 82

Chapter 82 - “I was being too clingy. I won’t be like that anymore.” (3)

Luo Xiu ran his finger over the page and finally stopped at the end of the page.

In front of his well-trimmed fingernail was the two delicately-written character “forever” carefully written down on the page.

That reminded him of someone else.

[Just you wait--]

The bright sunlight pouring in through the window and the girl turned around and gave him a very confident smile.

[I won’t forget any of the forever’s that I have promised Mr. Luo Xiu.]

Luo Xiu’s eyes lowered. His dense eyelashes lowered and casted a light shadow beneath his eyes.

He never trusted anyone, let alone forever.

As far as he was concerned, language was but a game to hide one’s true thoughts. The truth never needed to be expressed through words; they were only needed for lies and deceits.

Only the foolish ones would be deceived by words used to cover up evil intentions with their pretty appearances. Much like a traveler who was attracted by the fragrance of a gorgeous flower and reached out to touch it but overlooked the dark thorns hidden under the petals. They’d end up collapsing into the flowers and eventually dying in their fake dreams.

Luo Xiu had only seen too many fools like that. He couldn’t be bother to remind the others. In fact, sometimes he would even opt to help the poisonous flowers out by giving them a push.

Everyone “dies” eventually. To many, perhaps happiness was to die in one of these dreams.

What Luo Xiu had not expected was that he, too, would be one who stopped in front of some flowers one day.

Unlike the others, he was able to see clearly the poisonous thorns hidden between the petals under the sun. Yet, somehow, he didn’t seem to be able to help himself..

He reached his hand out toward her uncontrollably.

Luo Xiu subconsciously ran his finger over a page gently. Lifting up a page, he felt a burning sensation on his finger as he ran it over the edge of it –

Tsk.

The paper made a rustling sound and the pain on the finger brought back his rationality.

He looked down and turned his hand over.

On the tip of his index finger, there was a white line with red blood oozing out of it.

Luo Xiu did not stir from that. He looked up casually and got himself a tissue. Before he could even apply the tissue over his finger, the handle to the lounge was depressed and the door was pushed open from the outside.

A woman in a thin, beige windbreaker was standing outside of the door.

“Luo Xiu, you are really here.” Zhuo Yixuan looked happy when she saw that Luo Xiu was truly there.

“.. ..”

Luo Xiu didn’t say anything but looked back down.

“It wasn’t easy for me to rush back to the production team before your birthday. On top of that, I skipped out on an award-winning ceremony just to get back here!”

Her high heels made clacking sounds on the floor and she had already walked over to the couch. Standing next to Luo Xiu’s crossed legs, she leaned down toward him.

The windbreaker spread the fragrance coming from her. The collar of her tee-shirt came down some, showing off a hint of her beautiful collar bones and her cleavage.

Zhuo Yixuan smiled seductively, “I know I was wrong in the past. I was being too clingy. I won’t be like that anymore. I will be how you want me. Any way that you like.”

“....”

There was nobody else in the room. Luo Xiu looked up at her while trying to suppress the hint of mockery on him.

“Just who did you take a lesson from while on your trip?”

Zhuo Yixuan’s smile froze a little.

She stood back up and brushed her hair back awkwardly. “I didn’t. All I did was asked a couple friends for some suggestions. They said my personality was too strong and that’s why you didn’t like me. But that’s okay. I can be less aggressive if that’s how you like it.”

“Pardon me.”

Luo Xiu didn’t even look up when he slowly closed up the notebook. He glanced over at her.

“I don’t like that either.”

“You..” Zhuo Yixuan was so upset that she flung her arms around. “Well, then what kind of personality do you like?”

Luo Xiu looked languid. There was nothing he hated more than having pointless conversation with boring people.

He looked away, “It has nothing to do with personalities. I don’t like anyone.”

“.. ..!”
