247 Episode IX: The Weird Incident in Castle Town - The Lost Right Hand (top)(2/2)

back on Pol Earth, Camua-Josh unwrapped it.

That's how I give a fun voice.

"Late, take a look. There's a lot of deep scratches on your palm."

As Camua-Josh put it, there were scrupulously broken marks with a knife in the middle of the palm.

I guess he bled hard out of it, too. On the flat side of his hand and on the belly of his finger, red and black blood was creeping up on one side.

"Did you get a hand wound trying to avoid the dagger that approached your chest?"

"I don't know. It may or may not be."

Saying, Camua-Josh put his gaze around the fence.

"Excuse me. What is that building?

"A gardener man said that was a cabin that holds wild tools, firewood, etc. I searched first, but I didn't see anything suspicious about it."

"Gardener - is that you, Zeth?

"Yes."

Camua-Josh entrusts the bloody wrap to the guard and approaches you with a chick.

It is a wooden, crude cabin. The door wasn't even locked, so Camua-Josh pulled it open unwrought.

It looked dim and cluttered.

It's packed with what the guard said, and since it's one time, there's no place for anyone to hide.

Camua-Josh let one gaze through the space before eventually stepping out to the wall of his right hand.

There were blades like sickles and bamboos hanging there.

From it, Camua-Josh grabbed the oddly shaped blade of two strands.

"Late, do you know this guy? This is a tool for cutting leaves."

"Scissors......?

"Yeah. When I open it to the left and right and then close it, I can cut what's stuck in the two blades. If it's as big as this, it's going to be easy to get rid of the sturdy grigi leaves."

Indeed, it was a rather noisy blade with a blade longer than a dagger.

The length of the pattern could have been about Leyt's arm. I guess it's a tool for dropping tree branches in high positions.

Camua-Josh looks back at the cabin entrance as he rattles it out with both hands.

"This looks like the patterned area is slightly damp with water. Did someone use it in the morning?

At the entrance, one of the guards was watching Camua-Josh's actions with horrible eyes.

But I guess I have to show some respect for the Polearths' people. I'm honestly going to nod yes.

"The gardener said he was sharpening the blade. That's what they said in the morning."

"I see. You do seem to be damp with sickles and bamboo patterns, too"

Camua put the blade back on the wall and left the cabin.

So now, look in the direction of your left hand.

Viscount Alphane's mansion was resting there.

There are windows lined with gray walls, one of which remains wide open.

"From here, your lady's bedroom seems to be in sight, too."

"Yes, but the gardener said he didn't notice anything because he was stuck inside this cabin."

"Really? Thank you."

Camua-Josh begins to return to Polearth in a relaxed foothold.

As he lined up beside him, Late looked up at Camua-Josh's face at a far height.

"You've solved all the mysteries in Camus."

"Yeah? What makes you think that?

"'Cause that's what you look like"

"Late's a lot more eye-catching."

Camua-Josh laughs a lot, while turning his purple eyes toward Leyt.

"What do you think of Late? You've seen the same thing as me, and you've heard the same thing, but have you been able to come to any conclusions of your own?

"Right. Judging from what I've just told you... the killer seems to be Zeth."

"Oh, why?

"The squire doesn't seem to have a way of not contaminating his body with blood, and Princess Nicola is unlikely to be able to poke a dagger as deep as that. That still means someone broke in through the window... but as Camus and the guards put it, it would be easier for the person who was originally on the property to do the job than to think that the outside person had come through the walls"

"Yeah. But you'll need a good reason to identify that as Lord Zeth. Besides, gardeners seem to have a hard time climbing those walls with every arm."

"Yes. So isn't that why Princess Nicola drooped the rope out of her bedroom? That's how Zeth, the gardener, climbed to her bedroom, murdered your wife with a protective dagger, and then chopped off her wrist with as much blade as she had just done. .. That explains the blade was wet and the wrist was buried right next to the cabin"

"Hmm. Sounds like a lot of integrity.... Then why did Lord Zeth bother cutting off your lady's wrist?

"Was that... to blaspheme the dead? A lady named Matilla seemed to be a much more prestigious figure in her authority as a nobleman. It would have been so thoughtless for Matilla to be taken away with her as a witness as a lady."

"I see! Sure, that's one way of thinking."

Late was supposed to drop his shoulder.

"From that mouthful, it's different from what Camus thinks."

"Yeah? Right. Not overlapping, by the way, but something else."

"Then maybe I'm wrong. I can't think of any reason why Zeth, my first son's brother, and Nicolas, my second son, would conspire."

"I can't even imagine that. You don't have to give up until you know the truth."

"No, I'm sure I'm wrong."

Camua-Josh shrugged one shoulder and then stood in front of Polearth, who had been sloppily hand-held.

"Shall we go back to your mansion? Let's ask Princess Nicolas and Princess Tetia and, finally, Lord Zeth, how the truth was."
