Magicraft Meister

57 - 02-18 Darkness

Beena was now being carried in Count Kuzma's carriage. Seeing Bina who seemed to be nowhere to be found, the Count called out to her.

"Mister Beena, actually, I went to see you today," he said.

"To see me? For me?

"Yes. I heard that there is a magecraftsman who sells some interesting magical tools at a stall.

"You mean the ...... writer?"

The Count nodded,

"Yes. But you were not at home, and your assistant, Jin, entertained me instead.

"Jin? I see.

"Look, I bought this for you."

The Count pointed to a refrigerator in the corner of the seat.

"Ah, a refrigerator.

The Count nodded his head,

"I had a short talk with him and he told me that your motto is to make things that are useful for people in general.

"Uh, yes, that's right."

"Actually, I was going to ask you to become the exclusive magecraftsman in my mansion, but I changed my mind when I heard that."

"What?"

"This is something that should not be spread too widely."

The Count said,

"For the past six months, golems and magical beasts have been coming from the Kingdom of Celluloid.

"What?

The Kingdom of Celluloa borders the Kingdom of Egelea to the north of the Kingdom of Bluerand. And the Blue Lands are relatively south of the Kingdom of Egelea. Therefore, information such as the Count mentioned had not flowed to us.

"As expected, there were many who thought that something was going on. So, the nobles are beginning to surround themselves with good magicians (magecraftsmen) and are eager to take advantage of any opportunity that may arise to increase their power."

"......"

"Well, having power is a good thing as long as you can use it properly, but it seems that most of the nobles are just trying to make their own houses look good."

Bina did not know what to say, so she just listened in silence.

"On the other hand, you have a very clear idea. The common people who pay taxes are the ones who support the nation. You are doing a good job of making magic tools that will benefit the common people.

"Ah, thank you."

That was all Bina could say after being praised by the nobleman, the Count.

"Well. It's time to go to the gate.

The carriage is driven out in the reverse order of its arrival.

When they arrived at Bina's house, Jin was waiting for them.

"Well, it seems that he has been waiting for you for a long time because he was worried about you.

"Jin!

Welcome back, Bina.

I'm home.

Beena blushed a little as she got off the carriage. In fact, Reiko had sensed the carriage and had just come outside, but Beena didn't know that and neither did Jin.

The Count opened the window,

He opened the window and said, "Jin-dono, I have done what you asked me to do.

With that, he turned the carriage around and went back to the fortress.

Jin and Bina went inside the house and explained to each other what had happened. When I told them that I had sold the popcorn machine, Bina bowed her head apologetically.

"After the fact, I'm sorry. It belonged to Jin and I sold it without his permission. To be honest, I was surprised to see ten gold coins ......."

Jin laughed when he heard that,

"Ha-ha, that's enough. You told me the truth. Besides, a request from a nobleman is almost like an order.

"It makes me feel better to hear you say that. I'm so sorry. So here you go.

Bina offers Jin 10 gold coins.

"Oh, okay."

Jin takes it. Otherwise, he won't be able to get rid of Bina's guilt.

Jin also offers Bina the money from the sale of the refrigerator. Bina gives him half of it, five gold coins. Jin accepts it as well.

When they talked about what happened next, Bina did not mention that she was almost attacked by Count Galana, but only that she was forced to stay there halfway. She also said that she was saved thanks to Count Kuzma.

"I see. I owe Count Kuzma a debt of gratitude.

Jin said, and Bina said,

"Yes. He's a good man, isn't he?

Beena's cheeks turned slightly red as she said so. Jin saw this and thought, but did not say anything,

"Well then, now that Beena is back, I'm going to leave now.

"What? It's already late. Why don't you stay the night?

No, I don't. No, I don't. Good night.

With that Jin left the room before Bina could stop him.

"What the hell, ......?"

Bina, a little bloated, went to check on her younger siblings, and seeing that they were sleeping well, she herself slipped into bed.

Jin, on the other hand, asked, "What do you think?

"What do you think?"

Jin returned to Horaijima and asked Reiko for advice.

"Is this the Kingdom of Cerroa that the Count was talking about? There is a possibility that they are conducting some kind of magical experiments there.

"Magical experiments?"

"Magical experiments?" "Yes. The golem that your father met, the golem that attacked that country. And the Hecaton Cale that I met. And the Count. It smells artificial."

"Hmmm... ......."

Jin folded his arms and thought,

"Father, can we stop going to the Blue Lands now?"

"What?"

"Beena, you're on your own now, and we've already bought all the grain we can get there. I think it would be better to go somewhere else.

Surely, what Beena had asked me to do had already been done. The refrigerator would be bought by the nobles if the Count would spread the word. Then the debt will be paid soon. My brothers and sisters are almost well with the fruits I left for them.

"I can't go to school forever, you're right. Then I'll show up a couple more times, tell Beena and leave."

"Yes, sir."

The next day, Jin went to Bina's house, thinking that it was time to tell Bina that he wanted to concentrate on his own business. Reiko was planning to join him after giving instructions to the golem maids on Horaijima.

A carriage was parked in front of the house.

"That's ......."

As I approached, I saw the coat of arms I had seen only yesterday. It belonged to Count Kuzma.

I knocked on Bina's door,

"Jin!"

Bina came out from inside with a great rush.

"Thank God! You know, the Count is here, and he ordered some things for me, you know..."

Jin put his hand on Bina's shoulder,

"All right, calm down a little."

Beena blushed a little,

She blushed a little and said, "I'm sorry.

She then invited Jin into the house.

"Oh, Jin-dono."

Count Kuzma was sitting there.

"I'm here early. That refrigerator is very convenient! I ate my breakfast fruit cold and it tasted even better than usual!

"Good for you, sir."

Come on, have a seat. I want to hear all about it.

I would like to hear more about what you have to say.

Bina sat down and the Count opened his mouth.

"First of all, that refrigerator, I want you to make one twice as big. If you want to pay for it, I can give you the money in advance.

"Oh, thank you.

If the refrigerator is sold, he can expect to earn a large sum of money. For Bina, this is what she wants.

"Also, I was just being shown this magical device called a water heater, and I want you to make me ten of them.

"Ten?

Jin was drawn in by the generous offer, and was thinking about how he could get the right number.
