Another God Rejected

46 Mr. Stoor

Three days had passed since Sagar had his talk with Umbra with him going about his days in a similar fashion to his first. He would go to his classes, hang out with Talia and Umbra, along with training in his free time. Today he would only be having his 'Unique and Specialized Magic' class which would be in the afternoon so instead of putting off his training till later he just got it out of the way for today.

The class itself was taking place on the first floor of a rectangular building called 'Persistence'. Walking into the class Sagar thought it was bigger than what he would have thought seeming to be as big as a small store. His other classes are of a bigger size as there were a lot of students in those classes and this one not really being one that was mandatory his figured it would be smaller.

Looking around the classroom he spotted Umbra sitting towards the back and made his way over to her. She didn't notice Sagar not because she was lost in thought this time but it was instead because she was currently engaged in reading some sort of book. Sagar couldn't read the title of the book as Umbra had it placed on the desk she was sitting at.

When Umbra noticed Sagar sitting next to her she stopped reading the book and began making some small talk with him. As the two were talking more and more people started coming into the class, picking out places to sit, eventually most of the seats within the class were filled out. Everyone in the class was now waiting for the teacher to arrive to get class started but it seemed like the teacher was running a bit late.

Without anyone noticing a hand appeared on the teacher's desk that was located in the front of the classroom. Rising up from the desk was a person with disheveled air along with having half open eyes like they had just woken up from a deep sleep. As this person was trying to adjust themselves everyone noticed their presence and wondered where he had come from. Clearing out his mind the person sees all the students in the class and his rough sounding voice rings out.

"Ah so that was today.", hearing how raspy his voice was he coughed a bit to try and clear out his throat. He goes up to the blackboard behind him writing out something with a crystal that was in his hand. As he was writing he starts talking again, "Hello class, my name is Mr. Stoor and I'll be your teacher for 'Unique and Specialized Magic."

With his explanation everyone knew that this man who appeared out of nowhere was in fact their teacher for this class. Well what they didn't know was that he didn't really appear out of nowhere he was just sleeping underneath the teacher's desk the entire time. He only woke up because there was a bunch of noise going on around him.

With the start of the class Mr. Stoor started going over the basics to unique and specialized magic which is not too hard to understand within itself. Specialized magic is just a magic that was derived from another known element. A good example would be Sagar's explosion element magic which was derived originally from the fire element but had certain properties changed to it to turn it into what it's known as today.

From Sagar's experience it's not too hard to learn a specialized magic as besides explosion elemental magic he had others as well. One such element would be his ice elemental magic which was technically derived from the water element. For people other than Sagar to learn specialized magic was a bit more of trial as they might not have the aptitude for it. That's why specialized magic developed by families usually stays within said families as it's usually useless to others. Of course that's not always the case as there were times in past where people outside of those families have the specialized magic as well.Sometimes there might be a case where the specialized magic used by outsiders is actually quite different in the way it was developed.

Moving onto unique magic is that you have to be born with a natural talent to use this kind of magic. It's not in the same way as with aptitude with specialized magic in that whenever you first use unique magic it's completely out of your control. People with unique magic can use it as naturally as breathing so most of the time they wouldn't notice whenever they first use it. Another thing about unique magic is that it's not usually derived from other magic as the users are born with the use of the magic.

Sagar technically had some magic elements that fit into the unique category but they didn't completely fit either. Such an example would be the Almighty element which doesn't have a derived element but it wasn't like Sagar was born being able to use such a element. Maybe he technically was because he was born from the system and all the magic that Sagar knows comes from the system itself.

Anyway it was almost impossible for others to learn unique magic as the people able to cast them weren't too knowledgeable of their own element and in turn weren't able to pass on anything concrete. It was almost impossible but in recent years with the improvement of the level of technology that the people of Mellem or more specifically the people of the Griffin Empire develop the more they're able to figure out the things about unique magic. People of other countries or continents kept this sort of developments to themselves to have an edge against anyone who plotted against them.

Even with them figure out how unique magic works it still fell into the same stance as specialized magic in that you need a certain aptitude with it. The thing was that the aptitude for unique magic was even rarer to find than specialized magic. Since the occurrence of unique magic is random it doesn't really run in a certain family like specialized magic so it was harder to find anybody who could learn it.

Learning this Sagar felt it was possible for him to learn unique magic if he put his mind to it. After all he technically knew more things about the workings of the world itself than others living his past life in a technically advanced society. The only thing was that this world had different factors in it so he would probably continue to look into more detailed information to get a complete hold on learning different elements.

Mr. Stoor finished going over the basics for these magics and dismissed the class as that was all he planned to go over for this first session. It was quite a shock for the other students as this class only went on for forty-five minutes, not even lasting an entire hour. Either way they couldn't do anything as they saw that Mr. Stoor had already disappeared.
