18 Chapter 18: *Sneaks Out*
To the silent Anissa, I approached and patted her on the shoulder. She shivered and regained her focus.
"If there are no heroes to save you, then you need to save yourself. There is no shortcut to success. Only hardwork." I told her my thoughts (Which by the way is complete BS, but it seems to be working)
She appeared both awake and dazed, "become the Hero yourself...". She murmured.
"Interesting, kid. No wonder you would sacrifice the Hero's title." A voice sounded in the room.
When both Anissa and me, turned around, we saw a man and a woman.
To be fair, they were both elves. One was a male elf wearing a tight garb like coat, in a mix of black and dark blue.
The other was a blonde beauty, the likes of which I have never seen, but with the aura of a Goddess.
Before I could even react, Anissa bowed down herself and dragged me down to my knees.
"My humble greetings to the Lord Thunder King, and Queen." She bowed her head.
I pushed her hands away and got up on my feet. I wasn't going to bow down to just anybody.
The Thunder King smiled at me and sat down on a sofa. The woman with him joined him and sat at his side, and they looked like a divine couple.
"Get down on your knees!" Anissa whispered to me, with a hint of fury in her voice.
"Piss off!" My whisper was hoarse, and anyone could possibly hear it.
The Thunder King was smirking.
"What a well thought skill indeed. [Fortify], a very well fitting name indeed." He praised me.
I'm sure. This guy just appraised me right now.
"Yo. I apologize, but who are you?" I greeted him as I sat down opposite to him.
Anissa facepalmed.
"Lord Thunder King, please forgive the Hero-sama's ignorance." She pleaded.
"What ignorance?
I sense no ill will in his conduct. And remember that he's no longer a Hero. So there is no need to compartmentalize our acquaintance with him.
Am I correct, Mr. Cristo." The Thuder King spoke, with that calm and collected aura of an Emperor.
"You still didn't tell me who you are." I spoke frankly.
Let me shorten the story. Anissa whispered to me about the Thunder King and Queen. She told me their positions in the eyes of the Elves. And she also told me, that the Thunder King was the strongest individual in the world.
In less than 3 minutes after I made my wish, I'm sitting face to face with the most powerful dude in the world.
Honestly, he's quite a cool guy. He'd be like Byakuya Kuchiki, expect this guy's nicer.
"So what do you plan to do from here on?" The Thunder King asked me, waking me from my thoughts.
"Damn. I actually had no plan. I thought I'd just go with the flow." I replied honestly.
You know that look, when people know you're valuable and a nice guy but you're also an imbecile. The Thunder King looked at me like that, after my reply.
I have an idea why he's here. My wish. He wants to use it.
"Ooho" I unwittingly thought out loud.
I don't think he's here to be friends with me. He might act nice, but he could actually be planning to pull me over to his side, and get my wish.
"Don't worry, I'm not after your wish." He said to me, as I was locked in my thoughts.
Did he read my mind?
Yippee Ki Yay! Can he hear it!
I could hear Indy giggling inside my head.
"I can't read your mind." The Thunder King told me honestly."
So he didn't hear the Yippee Ki Yay!
"Though I can guess that you're worried about your wish."
Wow, he's got insight...or has he?
"Though I'm glad that I made an acquaintance out of you, it is not my current goal to meet you. As intriguing as you are, I'm here for other business." Said the Thunder King, and he turned to face Anissa.
I could sense things getting awkward, though I didn't know why. So, while they were having a staredown, I very discreetly .... left the room.
------------------
There was a lady waiting outside, and she led me to a room where food was served. It was uncut bread and soup with a slice of meat.
Okay, that might seem ordinary, but here's the truth. It was the damn, best meal I've tasted in days.
In retrospect, thanks to my experience in the desert, my above statement might be skewed.
After that she led me to a room with a very comfy bed, where I fell asleep as soon as I laid down.
Now you might be thinking that, I'm rushing along in this part of the story but here's the facts.
I had just arrived in a new world, and was still in my adjustment phase. So whatever I remembered of that, time is what I'm writing down.
I couldn't remember all the details to their exact description, because frankly, at that time I didn't give a damn.
--------
Meanwhile,
Thunder King and Anissa were indulging in a big discussion, where after a while, they noticed that I left the room without them noticing.
It startled them, to realise that people of their power couldn't detect my movements.
