Dreadful Radio Game

50 Nona

It was better do it by yourself than to wish it done, especially at this point. It seemed a little bit too childish to wait for a share via cooperating with Director Zhou and then take it for granted, and it was not Su Bai’s style.

There might be a lot of trifles or other trivial concerns, but actually, there was no need to think about them because it would cost too much energy and time.

At least, for now..

When everyone was sitting next to each other, face to face..

There was no conspiracy, no relationship, and no tricks..

.. that couldn’t be solved with a bunch of explosives.

“Boom!”

Just before the explosion, Su Bai turned over and hid behind the couch. Although such a defense was just a little better than nothing, it was a sort of precaution; plus, Su Bai was already prepared to get hurt or even seriously injured.

However, Director Zhou showed his full potential for ferocity. He just slapped on Fat Dong’s back and pressed him onto the fruit basket.

Fat Dong’s eyes were filled with fear; he would shield off most of the explosion with his own body!

Director Zhou threw himself at the window.

The explosion swept over. The couch in front of Su Bai instantly broke into pieces and Su Bai was thrown away by the blast. He hit the wall, but that wall collapsed, and Su Bai was covered by a pile of concrete.

Director Zhou’s body was hit by the blast as well, while he was still in the air. He was pushed out, fell off the third floor and landed somewhere far away from the building after he went through the window.

Wang Hongsheng had entrapped Sun Fei with his stick and forced her to stay in front of him. When the blast came, Sun Fei burst into piece and died on site, while Wang Hongsheng now laid under Sun Fei, hardly breathing and badly mutilated.

As for Fat Dong who was pressed onto the bomb by Director Zhou, he was immediately blown up, with barely anything remaining!

The police station went into a great chaos; shouts and screams were everywhere.

“Ouch........”

Su Bai managed to stretch his hand out from the heap of rubble. Then he pushed those stuff away and managed to get on his feet. He was covered with wounds and bleeding everywhere, but at least he could still stand up, considering the situation of others. Besides, his wounds were recovering with a speed that was visible to the naked eye. Of course, there was a side effect: Su Bai started starving.

Now, every time Su Bai got injured, he felt an awkward starving instead of intolerable pain.

There were cops and firemen coming in all the time; the whole place was a mess. First, Su Bai saw that Wang Hongsheng nearby was carried to medical care by some men. Then he started to look around. He would rather not go to a hospital at this point. Besides, since he already made this decision to go to war with them, the others might use the rules against him before one of the main tasks was accomplished. Take Director Zhou for example or those detonators he took, which could be easily tracked back to him. For the moment, what he needed to do was to temporarily shake off the identity limit set by the Dreadful Radio.

Of course, since the story had already gone so far, even if he took off his cop uniform right now, he might presumably not be punished by the Dreadful Radio. If the identities or rhythm for experiencers set by Dreadful Radio were ignored from the beginning, there would certainly be punishment. But now, with the return of Nona and the death of multiple experiencers and audiences, the plots were almost destroyed, the arena was gone, and the remaining actors deserved some freedom in their play.

While the smoke was still heavy, Su Bai staggered down the stairs with the others. The explosion had affected not only those people in the room but also other dormitory rooms nearby. Luckily, the other people were just injured and no one was killed.

“I’m okay, just go save others inside.”

“Keep going, I’m okay, I’ll get to the hospital by myself.”

Su Bai refused help from multiple colleagues and went out through the side door of the police station by himself. He also grabbed a coat on the way and got changed so he wouldn’t look so messy or conspicuous.

He was paying attention while he walked, and there was no sign of Director Zhou. So Director Zhou was not dead.

Of course he was not dead; if he was already killed, then one of the main tasks would be accomplished and this story world would have ended.

Su Bai went out and took a pedicab. The driver seemed to have noticed Su Bai’s disheveled appearance and hesitated a little. Su Bai simply took out his gun.

“Drive.”

The driver immediately started the pedicab in a hurry.

While the pedicab was moving forward, Su Bai kept trying to control his impulsion for fresh blood. He had not escape from danger yet; probably soon, he would be wanted by the police. Now the priority should be to find a secure place to hide.

“Officer, where are we going?”

“Your home.” Su Bai said simply.

“........”

The driver was shocked; he stopped the pedicab and put on a look as if Su Bai had to kill him before he surrendered, but his body was trembling with fear.

Su Bai smiled and got off the pedicab. In front of him was an alley, and behind the wall at the end of the alley was a cinema. The cinema was always busy, not only when films were on but also in ordinary days. There were chess rooms and game rooms in it, making it very popular among all kinds of people.

After walking into the alley, Su Bai turned around and went into a half-open door. It was a utility room and must have been occupied by some recycler as a temporary storehouse. When he walked in further, he realized that someone must have been living here, because there was a shed with a bed, some wine and leftovers.

Su Bai sat on the bed.

He was sweating, and his clothes were wet. He went to the well, pulled up some water with the bucket and just poured the cool water on himself. By now, his wounds and injuries were already healed, but Su Bai knew that he had to get some fresh blood right now.

Just then, someone came to the door. It must be the owner.

Su Bai just stood there, staring at the door. Soon, a man walked in.

But this man was not the owner as Su Bai had guessed; although his clothes were simple, his temperament was nothing like someone struggling in poverty and toil.

Ego looked at Su Bai and smiled:

“Such a unique physique for an experiencer! Tut, not bad! I’m impressed. Are all the recent experiencers so badass?”

Su Bai’s eyes were already deep red, as if they were about to bleed. But at this point, Su Bai was extremely sober. Like the last radiance of the setting sun, if he couldn’t get some fresh blood, he wouldn’t last long.

“Vampire?” Ego took a closer look at him and said, “Want some blood?”

He rolled up his sleeve to show his arm, which could be considered pretty fair for a man, and continued joking:

“Come on, my blood will be more delicious than ordinary men. Wanna try?”

Su Bai didn’t come at him. Even though Su Bai was suffering from the desire for fresh blood, he didn’t attack blindly. This man in front of him was giving out a sense of danger that somehow frightened him; he had never felt such a strong threat even when he was facing Director Zhou.

“Oh, so you dislike my blood. That’s disappointing.”

Ego shrugged his shoulders and started to walk slowly towards Su Bai. He had finally put away his joking look; his face became a little twisted.

“I kept those lives for so long! But you’ve killed so many people! You’ve caused me such a great loss!”

Ego kept approaching while Su Bai kept drawing back.

Actually, there was a single-story house behind this shed, but it seemed that nobody had lived here or ever come in for quite a while. Even its windows were covered with layers upon layers of spider webs. Su Bai’s back bumped against the door, and then he suddenly fell into the room.

“Alas.”

Ego sighed dramatically. Then he followed in with his eyes beginning to shine with blue light.

After he walked in, Ego saw two people standing behind Su Bai, a man and a woman. The man was wearing worn-out clothes, and his face looked pretty old; the woman was curling herself up behind him. They looked very scared.

“Well, there’s someone’s wife here!”

Ego suddenly became intrigued. He had no interest in normal girls, but he was infatuated with other people’s wives.

“They are your target for blood, right?” Ego looked at Su Bai. Apparently, he thought this couple was Su Bai’s sacrifice.

But Su Bai was confused. There were two people in this room?

Wait!

Su Bai suddenly realized that the man had maintained his terrified look from the beginning and didn’t even blink!

Soon, Ego also noticed that. “You’ve already killed the man? Well, it’s okay, as long as the woman’s still alive.”

...because the woman was still moving.

Finally..

The woman’s face shyly moved out from behind that dead man.

Su Bai’s eyes immediately widened..

That was..

..Nona!
