Death God System

10 Slaughter

As the echo of my words rang out through the area, the faces of those present blanched, and it looked as though many had felt a shiver run down their spine. Seconds later, however, they recouped, laughing. But these fools had underestimated me, they knew nothing of my capability. I was confident.

"Brother Ye, please don't. We know you're strong, but we can't do anything about it right now, so please, please endure it!" You Ye's pleading voice fell upon my deaf ears as she helped me stand.

I appreciated her help, but it was unnecessary. The only reason I was sent flying was my own lack of awareness. No damage was done to me at all. For that matter, even if I had been hurt, why should I care? I wasn't alive. My body could be fixed with no real effort. I glared at the crowd of young men that defied me.

"You needn't worry. I'm a man of my word. I said I would kill them, and I will."

I didn't know if this room was set up as a test or not, but the rules here couldn't stop me from killing the fools. After all, I had plenty of aces in the hole still. I only needed 2000 jin of strength to crush and kill any of them. After all, with my speed, they wouldn't have any time to react and protect themselves with Qi. I had nothing to fear if the force was rebounded to my own body, as I could almost take a hit with 10,000 jin of force.

"You provoked the wrong person."

A whistle pierced everyone's ears, and the battle began as my shadow kept drawing closer to my body. A fat man nearby was the unluckiest of the bunch. He was the closest one to me. Grabbing his head with one hand, I spat in his face and sneered.

"It's your unlucky day."

Before the man's face even had time to express disbelief, I crushed his skull with my grip. A fountain of blood burst from the carcass and painted my precious white skin with dark red splotches.

"But you don't need to worry. Hundreds more will accompany you soon."

In line with my expectations, I felt a force pressing on my skull. I snickered in derision at the annoyance. My body's capacity was five times that of the force I'd used to kill that weakling. The discomfort left as fast as it had come. A mad toothy grin spread across my face as the fat carcass slumped to the ground.

The nearby crowd stood stock still, as though petrified, as they watched me disappear and immediately reappear next to a small girl. I shaped my hand into the likeness of a dagger's tip, piercing her chest and grasping her still beating heart. The girl's large eyes bulged as she coughed up blood.

"I'm sorry..." she managed to choke out in horrified regret, finally realizing the grave mistake they had committed.

Chu Xian, Li Qi, Xiao Wu and You Ye stood, stunned. Clearly unable to understand how I had slaughtered two of the enemies in the blink of an eye. What rules? I didn't care.

"Why is he unaffected? What's going on?!" someone within the crowd screamed.

"The force isn't acting on him!" yelled another.

"No, you're wrong... He's a body cultivator!" Lu Xin's response was deliberate, hanging on every word as he himself didn't want to believe what he was seeing.

Their faces flushed with apprehension, realizing their error at last. It was obvious to all those present that if you couldn't match an opponent in speed or reaction time, you were as good as dead. That was the fearsome law of body cultivation. The first person in the crowd came to their senses.

"Run!"

I had thrown the crowd into chaos, just as I'd wanted. Through the swarm of bodies, I noticed a man and woman sprinting hand in hand. An instant later, they felt my hands running through their hair.

"What a nice couple, volunteering to be the next to see the other side." Both heads exploded in my hands, and two more corpses embraced the cold hard floor.

A cry came from a now panicking Lu Xin.

"Regroup! Hurry!"

Lu Xin wanted to get the situation back under his control, but it was already too late.

[Ding...]

[Ding...]

[Ding...]

[Ding...]

Legs, arms, heads, torsos, I severed them, crushed them and obliterated them. One could no longer see blue on the floor, only red. In less than a minute, twenty had fallen.

"Please have mercy! We didn't do anything, it was Lu Xin! It was all her! I promise!" A group of men near me had fallen to their knees and ground their foreheads into the bloody floor, prostrating themselves.

"Begging for mercy? You think you can buy time?" I looked with disdain at the party that couldn't even retain their dignity in their final moments.

A deafening sonic boom rang out as the man who had just been grovelling no longer existed. The only reminder of his mortal life was the smattering of internal organs that painted the nearby wall. This time, I felt pain. But using my Qi to defend, I turned out fine. I had wanted to teach them a lesson this time, and I'd achieved that goal.

"Monster!"

"Attack him together! He can't survive our combined offence!"

"Right! Attack them together!"

The crowd reached a fever pitch, losing all rationality, their backs against the wall.

"Stop it!" Lu Xin tried desperately to regain control. "Don't attack him! We must defend!"

But Lu Xin couldn't control anything anymore. Hundreds of attacks streaked towards me. Fire, water, lightning, the show of lights would've dazzled my eyes if their attacks weren't so weak. They gave their all in this last-ditch attempt, but without any coordination, their all wasn't anything in my eyes. I gave a low chuckle as I grabbed some of my nearby opponents and threw them forward, using their bodies to intercept the incoming attacks.

A fireworks show of blood spread out across the battlefield, as bodies exploded from the Qi attacks that hit them, or the force of their own offensive reflecting onto themselves.

The wave of Qi attacks soon dissipated, and the mist of blood finished raining onto the ground. The crowd had dwindled from its initial one-thousand members to no more than twenty. As the chaos died down, those that remained alive saw me standing with my leg up on a pile of bodies, completely unscathed.

"Well, that was satisfying. You aren't going to attack anymore? There are still a few of you..."

Kicking bodies out of my way, step by step I approached the remaining enemies. Just the sound of my footsteps trudging through the slick blood was enough to make the bravest among them fall to their knees.

I saw Chu Xian trembling. Li Qi wore a resolute expression. As for the girls, You Ye had her mouth slightly agape, not noticing herself drooling, and Xiao Wu had tears welling up in her eyes.

"It's time! Time for the rest of you to--" my sentence was interrupted midway by a loud voice resounding through the room.

"Hold it right there."
