The magical beasts had powerful bodies and they can wield mana, from this aspect a magical beasts were equal to a magus in the same grade. Magical beasts also had stages like a magus but their stages were crude. They didn't meditate, breakthroughs would often comes from eating other magical beasts. Leon didn't have much magical beast meat on him so he planned to buy some for Hermes. Even though he was just born, he could eat meat without any problem. Leon hold Hermes in arms and said goodbye to Teacher Fiona then leaved the garden. Hermes wasn't that big but he was big as a dog so holding in arms wasn't that hard for Leon.

Leon went to his room and let Hermes to the ground, because he was just born, he didn't have any majestic air of a griffon but he was just like a puppy. Leon brought out some meat for him and put them in front of him. Hermes smelled the meat and started to eat. After eating a bit, he fell to sleep. Leon was also tired from walking around for days and sleeping outside so he also slept in his bed.

In the morning Leon woke up and saw Hermes was looking at him. He patted his head and Hermes closed his eyes and he rubbed his head to Leon's hand as he purred like a cat.

"Come with me, I'll buy meats for you."

Saying that Leon got up from his bed and Hermes followed him. One beast and one man walking on the corridors of the school wasn't something rare but it was rare to see a griffon so, Leon and Hermes drew attention as they walked.

Leon and Hermes leaved the academy and went to buy magical beast meat. Asphodel had a free market unlike Loren Empire which had restrictions for magical devices and resources. If you had enough money you could buy anything here. Leon was also thinking about to go to the auction house after he bought meat for Hermes. He already heard that there was an auction was going to be hold.

Because The meat wasn't going to rot in his spatial bag, Leon bought enough meat for a year and put them inside of his bag then he went to the auction house as they went, nearly all people looked at Hermes who was following Leon like a dog. There was only one auction house in Asphodel which was managed by Elders of Undead Empire. Even though the country called Undead Empire, it was actually an oligarchy. In the ancient time a lich who was known as Death Emperor founded this country and called it Undead Empire. After he reincarnated, his subordinates ruled the country thus making it oligarchy.

When Leon and Hermes entered the auction house, everyones attention was on Hermes. Even some of them offered buy him but Leon rejected saying that he made a beast contract. After passing through the crowd, Leon arrived to the reception. And he rented a VIP booth for a year. Leon was going to buy for only one time but because of the regulations, he could rent for a year at minimum.

Leon walked to his booth with lead of an employee and waited for the auction for to start. Leon passed his time to bought the meat and he walked around with Hermes so it was already evening when he arrived to the auction house. Leon didn't wait too much for it to start. After a few pleasantry, the auctioneer officially started the auction.

Leon wanted to buy things with Yin-Yang attributes and four main elements to further improve his bodily cultivation. Only after he reached to the perfection in Yin-Yang stage, he could start to consume materials with death and life attributed. Upon reaching perfection, he didn't need to be careful to consume too much from any elements. In the perfect stage, the elements could balance themselves. If Leon were to only consume fire attributed materials, his other elements in mana pool would devour the excess and balance themselves.

A few magical devices came the stage but they didn't drew Leon's attention. Of course there were some elemental attributed materials came up, Leon bought them if their price was reasonable. He even bought some yin and yang attributed treasures.

"Ladies and gentlemen, next object is a portable garden. I don't need to say what it does, it is a magical device of dreams for any magus who specialize on alchemy."

Saying that auctioneer waved his hand and an employee brought a gold rectangle which about high as twenty centimeters. On its surface, there was countless sigils which was looking like an artwork rather than a magical device. Leon knew a few things about portable gardens, they were for planting spiritual herbs and plants to grow as its name tells and they were extremely precious. If here were to buy it, he could plant any spiritual plants and he could take them wherever he goes. Even though he didn't know alchemy, he had intention to practice it.

"Starting bid 10.000 gold."

"12.000 gold"

Leon also participated to the bidding whenever someone bid above him he raised the price again and again. Most of the participants let it go after it passed 25.000 gold but Leon was competing with someone. Only the two remain on the bidding race.

"29.000 gold" at last the other didn't participate anymore and gave up and Leon got the portable garden. It was the last device that auctioned and everybody was leaving after the auction. Leon leaved his booth and went to take his stuff and pay the gold. After getting all the things he bought, he went to the dorm. When Leon entered his room, Hermes sat down at the side of his bed and looked at Leon drooling. Leon took out some meat and put in front of him and sat down to his bed.

While Hermes was eating, Leon took out the portable garden and dripped his blood on him and passed his mana to the portable garden. As soon as he did that, The portable garden glowed and got inside of his mana pool. In Leon's mana pool there was two magical devices, Poison pearl and portable garden. Leon didn't have any attack type of magical device. He also wanted to have one but his body mostly superior to any magical device that he saw so he didn't find any suitable for himself.

Leon knew a refinement technique that allow to impose attributes to the magical devices. It was a common grade refinement technique but it can create wonders in Leon's hands. He had main elemental attributes and this would continue to increase as he breakthrough the titan cultivation.

Leon moved his mana according to refinement technique and drove bits of elements in his mana pool towards to the portable garden. According to refinement technique and his memories, Someone with fire attribute create a fire sword with this technique. Leon didn't wanted to make a fire sword or any other kind of sword but he wanted to create suitable places for magical plants which he was going to plant there. Some magical plants needed extreme places to survive, what he was doing was to prepare places with four elemental mana to condense in some places and and mingle in some places.

The refinement process took too much time and Leon nearly exhausted his mana in the process. But the result was satisfactory for him. Aside from his mana, he also mentally tired, it was like solving hard mathematic problems for hours. Leon looked outside and saw it was already morning but he didn't even sleep.
