Lord Titanheart

49 Asura Domain

Leon entered the tent which was assigned to himself and sat down to his bed, then he closed his eyes. He only focused to [Asura Domain], the book of knowledge deemed it as flawless among the techniques, but it didn't mean that it was perfect. Leon also knew that there wasn't perfection in any case. The perfect one didn't have any needs, so it also didn't need to exist. The existence itself was indefinitely coming closer to the perfection, but never reach it. The perfection that Leon sought wasn't that kind in this technique, it was to find a suitable technique for him. He wasn't a psychopath who would kill anyone, so [Asura Domain] wasn't really suitable for him, at least on the surface.

He was in a war which he needed to kill order to survive, even though he became adjutant of the general, it didn't mean that he would be away from the battle. Aside from participating the battles he also needed to show up at the side of General Talas in the strategy meetings and act like an assistant.

Leon understood the core idea of the soul cultivation manual after he carefully read it. [Asura Domain] was actually pretty good soul cultivation manual. But it had a problem, it couldn't rise soul cultivation, temper it. Leon also didn't rise his soul cultivation according to any soul cultivation method, but tempering was okay for him. It didn't just temper soul, it also gave an ability to the practitioner. At first only gave the practitioner to scare his opponents, but after that the practitioner could use the killing intent to scare to death his or her opponents.

Of course to cultivate the technique such a degree would need mountains of corpses. Leon didn't think that he would reach that degree in a couple of years, but he wanted to become an immortal, so the time would lose meaning for him and he would have enough chance to cultivate to that stage. Either way, he just wanted to temper his soul with the technique, so he wouldn't lose anything.

The technique wasn't complicated, it would just use the resentment of the victims to temper the practitioner's soul, but that didn't mean that there wasn't any danger involved. The danger was to drag with the resentment and lose one's rationality, this danger would disappear afterwards, but it was there in first a few killings. Leon knew that the war wasn't the best place to cultivate this technique, but he thought, he wouldn't have any problems with it. He had book of knowledge to protect his rationality in the battle. Of course, all of that just his assumption.

[Asura Domain] was high-grade technique, but it could be also said that it was a just secret army manual without flaws. Leon didn't have much about the technique, but he had to grow stronger if he wanted to prove himself to the totem. This illusion world was weird in a sense, Leon didn't find any techniques that could strengthen without any mediator, outside Leon could absorb the mana into his body and cultivate mana, he could find some other materials and grow as a titan, but in this world, he could only plunder vitality from others to grow stronger. And the techniques that he saw, was only about soul cultivation, he didn't see any body tempering or mana cultivation. He could understand that there wasn't any mana cultivation method, there wasn't any mana to cultivate so it was understandable. But for the body tempering techniques, he didn't understand, but he wouldn't find the answer.

["Either way this is an illusion, so the rules can be different from outside."] thought Leon and throw the questions to back of his head and laid on the bed. He was tired from all the battle in the war, so he didn't close his eyes and dreamed, he just laid and fall asleep.

..

In the morning, Leon woke up with the deep sound of the horn. He immediately got up and went to the gathering area. When he arrived to the area, he noticed that there was fewer soldier. He didn't find that odd, there would be always fewer and fewer soldiers in the gathering area as the days passed, it was natural. Leon didn't talk with anyone and went to a place and waited for the officer to come. He might be adjutant, but he didn't have a rank in the military, he was more like an intern who didn't get paid, but was there to learn the job.

The officer came and looked at the soldiers, and without further ado, he ordered them to advance to the battlefield. The soldiers walked to the war in a normal walking speed, but when they came near they started to run. Leon wasn't surprised by that, he already noticed that the soldiers were losing themselves in the battles as they fought day by day. He thought it might be the side effect of the secret manual, he didn't have any proof, but he couldn't think any reason aside from that.

When they came close enough, Leon could see the army of the enemy. They were also running to them and Leon could see that they enemy soldiers losing themselves in the battle. Amongst the cannon fodders, Leon might be the only one who was sane.

When the two sides collided with each other like waves, some soldiers were pierced with spears, they were the first ones to leave the battlefield, but most of them were crushed by the impact. Their cries of agony could be heard, but after a few breaths of time, only silence descended to them not any hand of help. They weren't crushed by the enemy, mostly by their comrades. Leon wasn't on the first row, so he didn't have any danger at the moment, but the line of battle was getting closer and closer by the time.

How many times that Leon saw that scene, he didn't know. Even though he should have gotten used to it, but it wasn't so. Every time, the first minutes of the battle was chaos. There wasn't any strategy for cannon fodders, battles of cannon fodders were like cracking eggs with eggs, no one knew which one crack and which one would be the winner.

Leon didn't want to waste time and immediately shoot towards to an enemy. He knew that his chances of cultivating the [Asura Domain] successfully would be the first minutes of the war. If he were to waste too much time he wouldn't have time as the battle progressed. It wasn't that he could only cultivate the technique at the start of the war, but as the time passed, the chaos of the first minutes would pass. In this chaos, Leon could hide anywhere if any problem arose from his cultivation.

Leon run to the enemy who didn't notice Leon and was still trying to fight. Leon didn't draw attention as he run to the enemy. Leon didn't drag this too much and pierces him with his spear from his side to his heart. The enemy didn't see how he died. Leon didn't attack any other enemy, after killing the enemy, he just retreated while he was guiding his mental power according to the [Asura Domain].

When he did that, he saw a ghost of the enemy who was passing through his sea consciousness. He knew that from the technique, so he wasn't surprised to see that. As the ghost passed through his sea consciousness, it drew some impurities with it. But that wasn't over with that, when it came to the border of sea consciousness, it growled and made a ripple in the sea, then disappeared. The ripple caused by the growl continued to grow, then it made waves in the sea. The book of knowledge was hanging above the sea, so it didn't grow to make Leon uncomfortable. When the waves over, there was a red dot hanging at side of the book of knowledge. It was very feeble, but it was there. Leon knew that he took the first step into the killing intent when he sensed the red dot. He couldn't use it at the moment, but as it grew in size and quality, Leon would have another weapon in his arsenal.

Seeing that he accomplished that without any mishap, Leon jumped to the center of the battlefield with a murderous air around him. Wherever he went, there was a corpse. Leon was like a lion among the sheep.
