Lord Titanheart

52 Descents of the Gods

After the announcement of the trial's beginning, the participants were also informed about the rewards of the trials. Leon looked at the rewards, but he quickly disregarded them, because most of the rewards about the blessings of the gods, and the rest wasn't suitable for Leon aside from that, he also learned that the one who got the first place could ask anything from the gods. He also surprised that the gods were this poor. Leon wasn't interested, but didn't mean others weren't, in fact, most of them were drooling while looking at the rewards. Leon looked at his number and noticed that he wasn't going to fight as soon as the trials begun.

The arena was filled with maguses from all ages, they were chatting and waiting for the ones who had to go to the arena first. In an instant, Leon felt a pressure that was so oppressive, he thought he was going to die. He could also see that he wasn't the only one, all the talking was stopped and they were trying to lessen the pressure by circulating their mana. The pressure wasn't directed anyone in the arena, it was just showing that there was a superior life-form. Leon knew that there was strong maguses who just came, and the only maguses that he could think of was the gods.

Leon lifted his head to see the gods with much difficulty. When he saw them, his pupils got smaller as a point of a needle. He felt dreadful and awe at the same time, but he also noticed that some of the gods were looking at him. Leon looked around him with the corner of his eyes to see if there was others who were looking at the gods aside from himself and noticed that he wasn't alone, so it wasn't his gaze that made the gods focused on him, but something else. He didn't know what made the gods focused on himself.

It was true that he was a titan, but it wasn't that weird to see one for domain stage maguses. He was sure that something about him drew attention of the gods, because they didn't just look and focus someone else. They were focused on him and him alone.

Leon felt scared and he was sweating coldly, the attention of a domain stage magus was pressuring. He didn't know how long they were focused on him, but in the end they looked somewhere else, and Leon could relax. While he was pardoned from the gazes of gods, he was thinking what was the reason for them to focus on him. While it was true that they might feel some of his treasures, but even the most valuable treasure on him, wasn't something that could draw the attention of a domain stage magus, him being a titan was also out. While the titans were rare, domain stage maguses could see them, even work on them.

He really didn't have any clue, even the philosopher's stone wasn't worthy for a domain stage maguses, they could find them while they were conquering other worlds. When he eliminated all the least possibilities, he couldn't find the reason. He really wanted to figure that out, he first he needed to get the first place, from the notice of the system he knew that only the winner have right to ask anything they want from the gods. It might be a treasure, a manual or an answer. Leon didn't have any reason for him to strife for the first place, but he had one now.

While Leon was thinking, the battles had begun and even some of the maguses ended their battles. Leon was watching the battles, but he couldn't focus. All he could think was the reason for the gods to focus on him. He quickly gathered his focus and looked the fights after he couldn't find the reason.

Leon always fought like a warrior due to his titan nature, he didn't know how to fight as a magus. So watching the fights of maguses was a great harvest for him. He needed to learn how to fight as a magus. Warriors were good at close range and maguses were good at long range, this was the truth. Leon was good at close range, but he was also a magus. Since his second life started, he didn't really fight as a magus, he always used his body to fight.

He knew the reason for maguses to cultivate their mana with attributes, it was to shorten the attacks. It was also making them to not able to use other elements. The mana cultivation technique that Leon was using could be considered a top grade from this manner. At the moment, he could only use four elements and lightning with yin and yang, but when his growth stage completed, he could use life, death, space, time and soul attacks. This was his reason for him to stop his mana cultivation and focus on titan cultivation. When he made his foundation with these attributes, they would become his basic attacks and attributes, so he wouldn't need to focus on them and look other kinds of attributes.

The fights of the maguses who was in the mana gathering stage wasn't that eye opener, but it was still a harvest for Leon. He saw all kinds of attacks, some were using four main elements as their attacks, some were using other attributes as their attacks. There wasn't many maguses who waste their time to gather attributes as much as possible like Leon, so their attacks were mostly specialized on a single element. Maguses would mostly construct their foundation with a single element, they wouldn't have much time to focus other elements, Leon was different in this case. His lifespan was longer than humans, so he didn't have any problem to create a foundation with basic elements of a titan body.

The foundation stage was important for a magus, it would grant a free pass for enlightenment on laws when the magus reached the domain and law stage. Of course, if a magus were to create his foundation with a lot of attributes, it would take some time to gain needed enlightenment, but it would still be easier than without foundation, and the magus didn't have to look for enlightenment for their founding attributes, it would occur without any cause. It would take time, but the maguses who was at the domain stage and law stage nearly didn't have any concept of time. As the time passed, their enlightenment would deepen and they would get stronger.

..

At first Leon was distracted because of him being the focus of the gods, so he couldn't watch the battles with attention. After he threw the distracting thought to back of his head, he focused to the battles. He gained a lot from watching them, he learned the attack types and defenses to the attacks, and so on. Most of the maguses were specialized on a single element, so their attacks were single attributed. But they could change the attributes by changing the shapes and sizes, they would also change the intensity of the elements.

If they were using fire, they would shape it like a spear or a ball, they would also change their intensity like making it hotter or condensed. The maguses in the arena were mana gathering stage, so their attacks weren't that fierce. Leon didn't gain too much from watching their matches, mostly the first one who made the move would be the winner.
