Demi-Human In The Wrong Time

49 Beating Up His Friends Too

Grappling was a form of fighting that Altair had never seen or heard of before. She didn't even know that grabbing someone could be a dangerous form of fighting. So, when she was brought up by the gorilla into a hug she had no idea what he was planning.

The oafs smile turned into a one that showed how much fun he was having. He then started to squeeze Altair with a portion of his strength, careful to not actually crush her but applying enough to make it hurt. He said, "If you admit defeat I will let you go," at the same time as well.

Altair felt the pressure immediately. His massive arms were able to almost wrap around her entire body so when he squeezed her it felt like her body was getting crushed right from the start. It caused her eyes to widen as she thought he was trying to crush her to death.

She didn't consider his words for a second. He had come in alongside Joshua. Since Joshua couldn't be trusted as he was a filth of a Human then, obviously, his friend was a filth of a Human as well. She only saw the fun-loving smile on his face and thought, 'This bastard enjoys crushing people to death? What a sick Human.'

She started to struggle as best as she could but her arms were pinned to her sides. His natural strength far outstripped hers and, with the help of Spiritual Energy, he was further able to stop her from getting out of his grasp unless she burned an excessive amount of Mana. The problem with that was there were still three others that she wanted to deal with. If she splurged her Mana here she probably wouldn't be able to start putting fear into their bodies.

Rictor shook his head from the side, "Well, she's done now that Dornom has her in his arms."

The other two nodded their heads while the energetic one said, "You just can't get out of his grasp with the rules of a duel once he has you. It's best to just give up so you aren't hurt too badly.

They all knew the rules of dueling very well. With how they were designed, once a grappler like Dornom got a hold of someone, it was over. The only way out was to surrender or suffer pain until you did surrender. The problem with that idea here was that Altair didn't know the rules at all and didn't consider this a duel either.

'I need to go for a weak point,' Altair thought to herself. Her head was too low on Dornom's body to adequately head-butt him. That positioning was on purpose on his part. If Altair tried to head-butt him then she would wind up with a headache from the point of his chin.

Both of her arms were sealed and she couldn't attack with her head. That only left her dangling legs that were completely ignored by Dornom's hold. She started to kick around with her legs. Her feet were positioned to his thighs, which wouldn't do much to get her free from his hold. Her kicks only caused a frown to cross his face, which resulted in him squeezing a little harder.

Altair found it hard to breathe now as her chest was crushed against his. She stopped kicking and started to knee him instead. Since she knew where her legs were now from the hits she made against him that meant she knew where she wanted to aim next. She figured it was unlikely that she could hit him in his groin given where her placement was but she still had to try. It was her only idea.

It was physically impossible for Altair to actually hit Dornom there though. She was positioned perfectly against him. However, Dornom was still inexperienced and every man feared getting hit there when a threat made itself known. Even though Dornom had the upper hand and, according to the rules of dueling, hitting there on both genders was out of the question, Dornom couldn't stop himself from letting Altair go. He didn't expect that she would try to cheat in the fight.

Rictor and the other's eyes widened when they saw him let her go. They were able to mostly see Dornom's back and did not see that Altair was aiming for his groin.

Altair landed on the ground and wasted no time in changing her plan as Dornom looked at her with an aggrieved expression. His hands were covering his precious spot defensively as if he was afraid she would strike there even now.

Altair wasn't allowed to use Magic to create weapons. But that didn't mean she couldn't use the things that were already in the room as weapons.

She jumped backwards to make sure he didn't try to grab her again, positioning herself next to a vase that had flowers on it near the wall. She hooked one hand around it and threw it at Dornom without delaying for even a moment.

Dornom was about to complain about her breaking the rules when he saw the vase coming for his face. His eyes widened and he lifted his hands up to stop it from smashing into him. While he was doing that, Altair had closed the distance between the two again and threw an elbow as the spot that was now defenseless.

It all happened too fast for Rictor and the others to know exactly what happened.

At the same time the vase smashed into pieces upon hitting Dornom's hands, he let out a very high pitched groan and doubled over.

Altair didn't think he would be done with this so she dropped her leg onto the back of his head and brought it down to the ground. The impact from the ground didn't generate any sound but it did knock him unconscious.

They all stared at Altair in disbelief. Alice worriedly asked, "D-Did she just..?"

However, she didn't get to complete her question.

Altair was already glaring at them and putting together her next course of action. She didn't want to wait for them to pick someone to come attack her. She wanted to take the initiative and strike one of them down, just in case they decided to all attack her at once. If she had more Mana she wouldn't mind fighting against all three of them but she was worried she would run out if things continued as she suspected they would.

So, she had started to run towards them immediately. Her actions caused the energetic kid to panic slightly, "Why's she running at us like that?!"

Rictor narrowed his eyes as he quickly assumed that she was coming over to attack them. He then hastily spoke, "Prepare yourselves," while dropping into a combat stance himself.

The energetic kid and Alice quickly attempted to follow. However, Alice was the target of Altair's preemptive strike. She was forced to move back quickly as Altair drew up close to her and attacked before she could get her hands up.

Altair raised her other hand up at the same time, seeing an opportunity with Alice's long hair, and seized it as Alice tried to back away.

Rictor saw this and his eyes went wide. Alice was the weakest of them in Martial Prowess. This was mostly due to her lack of motivation. Still, she was quite a bit weaker than the rest of them here and would undoubtedly be unable to take any assault that Altair threw at her.

Unwilling to see a good friend of his get one-sidedly pummeled, Rictor quickly shouted, "Vargol stop her!"

His words were too late though.

Altair had yanked Alice back towards her by her hair, causing her to stumble forwards. She then yanked her head down and launched her knee into Alice's face.

With an ear-splitting scream, Alice's head flew back with a trail of blood.

Altair didn't stop there. She had a self-appointed job to do and she wanted to do it thoroughly.

With Alice's hands over her fair, Rictor and Vargol rushing towards Altair, Altair drove a hand into Alice's sternum. It caused Alice to double over; much like Dornom, and Alice threw a quick jab to the back of Alice's ear at the same moment.

Alice collapsed to the ground soundlessly with the attack.

Rictor clicked his tongue in frustration while glaring at Altair. He didn't expect Joshua's adoptive sister to be so brutal. She was completely ignoring all the rules of dueling and fighting that were put in place for children growing up so they wouldn't damage each other's potential.

Vargol looked on in shock before his face flushed with anger. He quickly continued to run towards Altair, which prompted Rictor to follow, while shouting, "You bastard!" Alice was like a sister to him. He couldn't stand seeing her get hurt and his anger went to his head.

Altair returned a condescending look towards him. 'Is this really something to get so upset about? I just knocked her unconscious. She'll be fine since that twerp completely recovered from his smashed nose.'

Altair crouched into a low stance as Vargol engaged her with a flurry of attacks. She sidestepped them easily but before she could counterattack him at all, Rictor was there to cover Vargol's openings.

With four hands against her two, Altair was quickly pushed into a disadvantageous position. She wasn't able to get touched by the combined efforts of Rictor and Vargol though, despite them throwing their all at her.

Altair frowned at her situation, 'If only I could make a weapon I'd sweep both of their legs and be done with this.' She didn't like getting put into this kind of situation by two obvious amateurs in fighting. It was an insult to everything she had been through.

Still, it was for this exact reason that she took the initiative to take Alice out of the fight right away. Without Alice to also gang up on her she wouldn't need to burn more Mana than she had to take care of them with a burst of power.

Alice burned more Mana to reinforce her body and she felt lighter than air instantly. Her muscles twitched with anticipation and her expression loosed at the same time.

Rictor's brow twitched as his Inborn Ability warned him of extreme danger.

Altair seemed to explode from where she was after slightly dodging an attack from Vargol. She had launched herself towards him at the same time he attacked and threw her palm at his face with far more power and speed than she had shown so far. It caught both Rictor and Vargol by surprise.

With a loud cracking sound, Vargol was launched back a few meters and sprawled flat on the ground where he landed. He laid there unmoving.

Rictor didn't even have the time to see where he landed as he had to dodge backwards as fast as possible from a follow-up strike from Altair.

Altair's palm grazed Rictor's chin while his eyes were open wide in shock at her, 'Just where is this power coming from? What kind of ability is this or was she toying with us the whole time?!'

Altair's strike was still dead-on in accuracy as she predicted how Rictor would move to avoid her attack. She managed to graze the nerves in Rictor's chin, which caused his legs to turn into jelly and he fell on his rear in another wave of shock.

He looked up at Altair who smugly looked down on him. He wanted to ask her where she learned how to fight like this, however he saw Altair begin to rotate her hips. With no time at all, he moved his hand and took off his glasses just as Altair's leg spun into his face, sending him to join his friends.
