The Other Side of A Cultivation Story

13 Shandian

Shu Wei on the other hand simply spent the night cultivating. He wanted to fully stabilize his foundations in the sage realm so he spent a lot of time cultivating.

Meanwhile, Qai is now ready to form a soul contract with the black-colored tiger cub.

He took a dagger from his ring and cut his thumb. He also made a cut in the cub's paws. They joined their wounds together and when the two blood got mixed up, they automatically felt their souls to be linked with one another.

At this point, Qai felt the need to finally name his beast brother. So he grabbed the tiger and looked into its silver eyes.

"From now on, you're name will be 'Shandian'," said Qai, to which the tiger replied with a growl.

After few moments, the tiger leapt out from Qai's arms and showed signs of evolution. Thereafter, lightning aura suddenly circled around its body. The aura looked painful although the tiger simply gritted its teeth.

Qai watched in agony but he was unable to do anything knowing that the evolution is part of the process.

Instead, Qai closed his eyes and started cultivating himself.

After an hour, the aura around the tiger gradually dissipated. Qai opened his eyes to see the result and found the tiger to emit the initial sky stage of expert realm aura. And that the tiger suddenly grew in size. It now stood a meter tall.

All of a sudden, Shandian just simply stopped being a cub!

Then Qai realized that the idea that contracted beasts level is dependent upon the the level of the owner was true after all.

He went to check the tiger. After confiming its state, he hugged it then rubbed its head.

***************

The following morning, Shu Wei was at first shocked to the changes with the tiger when he saw an adult-sized beast following his son.. but immediately understood the effects of the Beast Taming skill.

And after the trio had their breakfast they prepared to set off towards Jiang City.

This time, they had to prepare for possible attacks--both from beasts and bandits--that is so because the distance between Moon Village and Jiang City is five times farther. So this time, they have to camp at least once in the night.

***************

In their travel, Qai and Shandian were practicing their rythm in their team attack. Qai takes the role of long ranged attack with his archery and Shandian takes the vanguard role.

So far, they only met occasional demonic beasts in the expert realm. And Shu Wei let his son and his tiger do all the fighting. He only joins the fight everytime a heaven stage expert beast appears.

In those fights, Shandian revealed its rare class skill: 'Lightning Claw'--a mid range lightning attack thrown by the paws that cuts the target deep with fourfold X-marked thunderous slashes.

The father and son instantly realized upon watching the skill activated that the counterpart 'Wind Claw' is the best skill suited for Shu Liang that would compliment her needles.

As the day drew to a close, Shu Wei told his son that it's time to set for a camp. The father and son duo together with Shandian looked for a nice place to settle for the night.
