The Other Side of A Cultivation Story

32 Thunder Fists

The four beasts evolved into demonic beasts as Qai hoped them to be so.. and they were all in the initial Earth stage of Expert realm.

Though they evolved, they did not awaken any Elemental attribute--demonic beasts' cores without attributes were actually the source of common skills.

Qai theorized that probably the beasts that the taming skill can control, outside the soul contract, can definitely evolve but they can never awaken any element.

That was definitely outside his expectation.

But even then, an additional demonic beasts under his control was a welcome boost to the strength of his family.

He thought it to name them 'domesticated demonic beasts' because they were practically not contracted and as if 'tamed' in its strictest sense.

Qai could not have any internal communication with them whatsoever--it was just plain 'mind control.' They would simply answer commands just like regular pets as if their wild insticts were tempered.

But then again, their transformation was better than nothing. Their presence in the household were in fact more affordable and probably more effective than hiring guards.

And since Qai's cultivation strength leveled up, he thought that maybe he could still tame a beast or two more. So his next target was to decide which wild mortal beasts to tame.

Inside the Darkwood Forest, Qai had been trainig his fighting skills with Shandian against peak heaven expert beasts.

He opted to pick a close range attack fist for his third skill upon reaching heaven stage. He felt that situations will come that long range attacks will be meaningless--and that not every fight will be a 'party' combat. So he needed to be as unpredictable as possible in fight.

In a melee against a demonic Metal element Battle Rhino, Qai tried to combine his attacks by first slowing the rhino down with his arrow attacks empowered by a heaven stage lightning.

Only then did he use his 'Flash' to close his distance before throwing a frontal barrage of thunderous punches with his new 'Thunder Fists' skill.

A visible pair of big lightning gauntlets formed strikingly around his fists made his attack looked so frightening. The onslaught of a dozen of punches sounded like rolling drums due to its lightning element.

'Swooosh,' 'swooosh.'

'Baaam,' 'baaam.'

'Thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud,' 'thud'...

'Roaaar.'

Qai used his 'Thunder Fists' on one side and Shandian unleashed its 'Lightning Claw' on another--a combined attack that effectively confused the target.

When the rhino shifted its focus on the black tiger, Qai would distance himself with his movement skill and once more unleashed arrow after arrow to stun the rhino's movement.

The rhino's thick hide was already oozing with defense but it became even harder to break when the rhino used its skill, 'Metal Coat.'

The skill transformed its skin into a protective metal covering raising the rhinos defense several times.

However, Qai and Shandian simply repeated their synchronized assault to drain the rhino's strength.

The assault was so effective that the two hardly needed any medicinal pill after they finished the rhino off.

Qai and Shandian spent three days in the forest and trained like monstrously--so much so that demonic beasts in expert realm avoided their presence.

Qai, on his way home, picked a wild grizzly bear and a wild ox to tame. He thought of making the bear a beast guard in the main manor and the ox to handle hauling works once they evolve.

He was hoping that the same process he did to the four domesticated beasts would apply to two new wild mortal beasts.

Back in the plateau, Qai asked Jing to help him put up another stable for the ox and a bigger shed for the bear. And when they finally built them, Qai placed the wild beasts and started to feed them cultivating pills and cores and herbs.
