“You are a group leader? Hehe, amusing,” said Yuan Feng, smiling at Lin Feng emptily. He didn’t say anything after that, and immediately left the great palace.
Lin Feng watched him go back expressionlessly. Yuan Feng had just tried to humiliate him, but he didn’t go too far. However, Lin Feng couldn’t be duped easily.
“Lin Feng, good luck to us!” said Zhao Ming Jun, tapping Lin Feng’s shoulder and smiling sincerely. He wasn’t making fun of Lin Feng. He meant what he said.
“Yeah, let’s work hard together to save Qing Xin Yue,” Lin Feng said. After that, Zhao Ming Jun turned around and left. Before leaving, he glanced at Zi Jing Xiao and grinned silently.
Zi Jing Xiao looked indifferent to it all.
“Lin Feng, your group is interesting. You have a burden; Yuan Feng, and three people you can’t control,” observed Chu Chun Qiu, as if he really cared about Lin Feng.
“You don’t need to worry about me,” Lin Feng replied deftly, shaking his head. He didn’t give Chu Chun Qiu any opportunity to make fun of him. Chu Chun Qiu understood Lin Feng wasn’t going to bite, so he just smiled and left the great palace.
After everybody left, Chen Guang Yu looked at Lin Feng. Lin Feng nodded, and Chen Guang Yu left. Now, only Lin Feng, Zi Jing Xiao, You, and Kun were left in the great palace. Zi Jing Xiao had You and Kun leave.
Zi Jing Xiao was still in his wheelchair. He slowly turned around and rolled towards Lin Feng. In his wheelchair, Zi Jing Xiao was shorter than Lin Feng by half a meter, but his Qi was still more powerful than Lin Feng’s.
Lin Feng watched Zi Jing Xiao closely. Zi Jing Xiao was so strong he couldn’t even be considered a young genius; he belonged to the same world as powerful older masters already. Zi Jing Xiao was at least as strong as Lin Ou, Shi Si Ming, and the others.
Of course, Shi Si Ming’s soul was still in Lin Feng’s ring, so if in the future, Zi Jing Xiao and Lin Feng fought, Lin Feng would have have no choice but to rely on Shi Si Ming’s soul to defeat him. Lin Feng was well aware that he was much weaker than Zi Jing Xiao.
He needed to break through two cultivation layers in order to catch up with Zi Jing Xiao. Zi Jing Xiao could defeat cultivators who were stronger than him by one cultivation layer, while Lin Feng could defeat people who were stronger than him by two cultivation layers.
“Brother Zi, please don’t blame me,” Lin Feng spoke first, smiling helplessly.
Zi Jing Xiao smiled and shook his head. He didn’t blame Lin Feng, of course. Besides, he didn’t care about who the group leader was; they were all there to save Qing Xin Yue, nothing more.
“We need to work hard together and of course, I will listen to you since you are the group leader,” said Zi Jing Xiao, smiling thinly. He rolled away and left the great palace.
Lin Feng suddenly realized that Zi Jing Xiao had lost both his legs. He had fake legs. Lin Feng was astonished and terrified at the same time. What kind of cultivator had cut off such a strong cultivator’s legs?
If it was another young genius, then Lin Feng didn’t know all of them. If it was an elder, then who had plotted against Zu Jing Xiao? In both cases, it was astonishing.
Lin Feng was lost in thought for a short while, and then left the Tai Qing Hall and returned to the public square. There was a red carpet on the cyan ground. He walked along the red carpet quickly.
There were already thousands of people at the public square. They were all elite disciples from the Tai Qing Sect. There were some Great Supreme Gods and many Half-Great Supreme Gods.
The Tai Qing Sect was extremely powerful. Those people were all the future pillars of the Tai Qing Sect. After a few more years, those young geniuses would rise, and the Tai Qing Sect would also rise to the next level.
In Tian Dao Yuan, there was a temporary shortage of young geniuses, or they wouldn’t have looked for someone like Lin Feng to become their new Master. The issue was serious. They were much, much weaker than the Tai Qing Sect.
Lin Feng walked down on the red carpet towards the crowd. He walked through the crowd and then up onto a higher stage.
All the young geniuses were standing on the stage. Lin Feng was the last one to arrive, so his arrival obviously drew everybody’s attention. Initially, many disciples had looked at him angrily, but when they learned who he was, they were seized with panic.
Many people had insulted Lin Feng as he had walked through the crowd because they thought he was just trying to push them to go to the front to see the young geniuses better. Now, they were afraid he would fly into a rage and kill them!
But time passed and Lin Feng didn’t do anything. He did not kick up a huge fuss about it.
Up on the stage were some documents, alcohol jars, and cups. Nobody knew what was written on the documents.
Some old men were standing with Qing Xu Duan. Lin Feng didn’t know them, but he could see they were Great Supreme Gods. The weakest one had the strength of the fourth Great Supreme God layer. Lin Feng wasn’t sure he could defeat him.
Were they the Supreme Elders of the Tai Qing Sect? Lin Feng wanted to ask who they were, but he controlled himself. He had to be cautious.
Qing Xu Duan stood in the middle of the stage in front of the documents. He was holding three incense sticks. He lit them and bowed several times in front of the documents.
All this was one of the traditions of the Tai Qing Sect.
“Today, we’re doing this ritual so that the young geniuses have a safe journey.
“You’re all here because you agreed to go and save Qing Xin Yue. It doesn’t matter whether you succeed or fail, we are infinitely grateful. However, we can’t help you. We’re leaving it all to you. We hope you’ll succeed.
“Of course, the Tai Qing Sect will not treat you unfairly. You will be delighted when you see the content of these paper scrolls.
“They’re all the same; your reward will be the same even if you fail to save Qing Xin Yue. You can come and look, they’re all the same,” proclaimed Qing Xu Duan, smiling and looking at Lin Feng and all the other young geniuses.
The first one to go over and check was Jia Li Ya.
She was a woman, and didn’t really need to save Qing Xin Yue, but the Ancient Beast Clan wanted to establish good relations with the Tai Qing Sect, so she had agreed to come.
She unrolled a paper scroll. When she read it, she smiled in satisfaction. What a great opportunity! She would definitely do her best!
Jia Li Ya raised her head while holding the paper firmly and looked at Qing Xu Duan. Qing Xu Duan nodded to indicate there was no problem at all.
Qing Xin Yue’s expression didn’t change, he just sighed on the inside. They had no choice but to give those young geniuses something in exchange. Nobody agreed to do things for free.
Jia Li Ya walked back. Hun Cang, still in pain, walked up to a paper scroll. He didn’t look as arrogant and proud as before, and was much more discreet. It was all because Lin Feng had taught him a proper lesson.
He grabbed a paper scroll and read it. When he finished reading, he grinned. He was satisfied, too. He raised his head and nodded at Qing Xu Duan.
The third one to come over was Chu Chun Qiu. He wasn’t a good person. The only reason why he had agreed to come was because he hoped he would become stronger during this adventure. If he became stronger, the Lun Bi Empire also became stronger. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have come.
He took a paper scroll, read it, and then walked back with it in his hand. He didn’t look at Qing Xu Duan at all. Qing Xu Duan was surprised; was he satisfied?
“I’ll go and see,” said Yuan Feng frowned. He looked for his own scroll and opened it excitedly. But when he saw it was something he didn’t really want, his expression suddenly changed.
“What is that supposed to mean?” asked Yuan Feng, looking at Qing Xu Duan angrily. How unfair!
Qing Xu Duan smiled icily, then turned around and ignored him. Yuan Feng wasn’t stupid, he just didn’t want to understand.
Yuan Feng smiled coldly. He obviously knew why that was on his scroll... Qing Xu Duan was disappointed!
What was the issue? He had to wait and see.
Yuan Feng grinned darkly. Qing Xu Duan was worried when he saw Yuan Feng’s smile. Was Yuan Feng plotting against Qing Xin Yue?
He hoped nothing bad would happen. Thinking about it, Qing Xu Duan hoped Lin Feng could keep Yuan Feng under control.
After that, nobody came to read the scrolls anymore, not even Zi Jing Xiao and Zhao Ming Jun. They had already discussed the conditions for helping before coming. They didn’t need to read their scrolls.
In the end, Qing Xu Duan grabbed a scroll and gave it to Lin Feng. Lin Feng looked at him curiously. He grabbed the scroll and opened it.
There was nothing inside. It was an empty paper sheet.
Lin Feng was startled for a few seconds, but then glanced at Qing Xu Duan and nodded to indicate there was no problem.
Qing Xu Duan nodded earnestly. He looked indifferent, but on the inside, he was touched. He hadn’t misjudged Lin Feng. Lin Feng was willing to help even if he didn’t obtain anything in exchange!
Little Yue’s decision might have been the right one!...
