29 Bloody Battle
Sky sat before the gate of the palace. He was calm. No one to protect and being immortal made him calm.
He looked at his left hand and sighed. Being able to kill the the level four Minotaur today depends on this arm of his.
He had always loved his arm, but his attitude was domineering to something he owns. So he wanted to dominate his hand which obviously belonged to him.
This is the reason he scolds it once in a while and threatens it. But his arm was even more domineering than him. Even though it clearly belonged to Sky, it doesn't listen to him.
Sky patted his left with his right, like it was a beautiful flower. "My little sister left, today, everything depends on you." He said with a gentle tone.
There was no sound from the arm but Sky could feel his left arm cooperating with him this time.
Seems like it knows it's limits. It always listened when it matters most.
Sky was in a happy mood for once, since he was able to make his left hand listen to him and laughed like a madman.
As he was laughing the ground started to shake and blackness covered his eyes as his looked at the horizon.
Thousands of Minotaurs were currently making their way to the core of the fox territory. Sky felt his heart raise seeing this scene. Even though he knew he was immortal, he still took a step back when he saw this scene.
His body was feeling fear, his heart was beating faster, his body felt more energised than ever but he was not happy at this feeling.
Right now, Sky had taken the blood essence of a level four Minotaur and his body was now comparable to those of level three Minotaur.
But against thousands of such opponents Sky knew his stamina would not keep up with his regeneration. If only he had unlimited stamina this situation would have been completely different.
The level four Minotaur was in the middle of these monsters. Sky would have to kill his way to the middle to be able to kill the level four Minotaur.
Sky took a step forward using his whole will power. It was becoming harder to move forward, but he steeled his balls and took little steps.
His left hand suddenly released a white glow which cooled him down. He relaxed once more when he looked at his left hand.
He raised the sharp knife and charged towards the thousands of monsters.
The closest monsters were just level one, so he just charged through them, he did not even care to wave his knife.
As Sky charged his way and entered the ranks of monsters, the level one monsters noticed that Sky was just running towards the core without attacking them.
Once they noticed this all the monsters started moving away from Sky. Sky was dumbfounded by their reaction.
But he soon came to know their plan. These monsters moved away and cleared all the monsters in his vicinity.
But once they had sufficient distance, they started moving in a circle, trapping him in all directions.
Sky had really underestimated their intelligence. Minotaurs were a warrior race and were born for battle. It was not hard for them to know these simple battle tactics.
Sky knew that he would have to kill to get out of this surrounded circle. Just as he was about charge in the direction of level four Minotaur, some monsters which were covering the sides charged at him.
Since they were just level one monsters, Sky did not activate his eyes of truth and just slashed their heads.
While slashing he was attacked with numerous punches. This did not do much to his body but his stamina was drained a lot faster.
The next batch of monsters charged at him, without giving him the time to recover. Sky once again killed the Minotaurs the same way as before.
But he was already looking exhausted. So he changed his style and tried to dodge the attacks next time as he continued to slash their heads.
This time his stamina was drained little slower and Sky was starting to grasp their fighting arts.
He saved even more stamina than before in the next round. He even started to learn the best way to kill the monsters using less stamina in slashing the opponents heads. This saved a lot of hard work.
The level four Minotaur watched coldly as Sky became swifter in killing. But no matter how swift he killed, Sky's stamina output was greater than what he gained. His stamina was still dropping rapidly.
"Send the level two boys." The Level four Minotaur Commanded coldly.
"Yes!" His subordinates acknowledged and ordered the level two Minotaurs to attack Sky.
Sky noticed the change in power level of his opponents. "Use the blood essence to expand the space, Little left." He said as he slashed the level two monsters in their hearts, directly absorbing the blood essence.
His left hand acknowledged and used all the blood essence it got to expand the space inside it.
Sky had thought properly about this. If he had a large space, then he could just make everyone he cares to stay in it, while he ran when faced with danger.
This incident had pushed him to make this kind of decision. If he had enough space, he would have just taken all the fox ladies and ran away from here.
The level four Minotaur squinted it's eyes when it saw Sky stabbing the hearts instead of going for the heads like he did with level one Minotaurs.
It would be harder to pierce through heart than going for head, but Sky still chose to attack the heart. Being a veteran from battle, the level four Minotaur understood that this change was definitely intentional.
"Send in some level three monsters." The level four Minotaur once again ordered.
Sky did not change his target when level three Minotaurs appeared, he attacked their hearts directly.
"Stop the level two and level three monsters, send only the level one monsters." He ordered once again.
Sky went for the heads, seeing that he was being attacked by the level one Minotaurs again.
These level one's blood essence was too weak to be of any use to him. He would rather conserve his stamina by directly attacking their heads.
The level four Minotaur understood how Sky worked, "Send two level two monsters for every one level one monster." He ordered.
Sky finally noticed the change in his opponents was a probing to learn about his attack patterns. Now there were two level two Minotaurs for every level one Minotaur.
So he had to either go for the heads or go for the hearts of everyone. If he goes for the hearts he would have wasted one third of stamina he could sustain. Sky felt his heart break about leaving the blood essences but he resolutely chose and started going for the heads.
He did not care about the blood essences of level two monsters anymore.
...
Three days passed and half the population of Minotaurs were killed by a single knife.
The level four Minotaur was starting lose his cool, losing anymore subordinates would not be good for his territory as they had a lot of enemies.
Sky was also pretty much exhausted. His strength was no where and he was lying on the floor gasping for the breath.
He looked at the level four Minotaur and said slowly to himself with a bad smile, "it's time to implement the plan."
