Reborn In Harry Potter

4 4 Diagon Alley Part 2

Ever since his rebirth, Ron had been meditating and learning to control his magic and by the age of two, he was able to successfully cast a spell. Although the strength and level of spell was very low, it was a spell nonetheless. Besides learning to control magic on his own, he had also managed to learn different languages and some common spells from observing his family. Although the Weasley Family was poor, they were still one of the oldest Wizarding families of the world. They had ancient Tomes and Grimoires full of ancient spells, techniques and other knowledge. But they all either required one to be extremely rich or have specific wizarding talents that hadn't been seen for thousands of years. Except Ron didn't have one but many of these talents, his practice of meditating everyday had resulted in a unexpected surprise, he had become a natural Occlumens!

Although his level of Occlumency had only reached the first level of clearing one's mind — making it "blank and empty", it was still one of the greatest achievement an adult wizard much less a Two year old child could hope for. Besides Occlumency, his magic control exercises which at the current time was basically just use magic until exhaustion had resulted in an increase in his magic power and his body adapting to the high usage of magic every day. From an outsider's perspective Ron was skimming through the books, looking at the different pictures like a normal Two year old. But he was currently imprinting those books deep into his mind! Ron was currently deeply engrossed in a book when he felt two people approaching him from different sides and he leapt back instantly.

`Bam!'

In the place Ron was currently stood were two identical boys laying on the floor holding their heads. ``What the hell were you guys doing?! you could have hurt yourself!'' looking at their younger brother that was showing both concern and anger in his eyes, the twins just showed their signature smile and Fred just said, ``it's not a big deal little brother, we are fine. Look not hurt at all''. George continued with, ``yeah, we were just trying to scare you but didn't know you were a Seer.'' Looking at their smiling faces Ron's annoyance went away and he hurriedly changed the topic, ``So, why are you guys here and where's everyone else?'' although the twins could see their little brother's trick, they went along with the ruse and George replied with, `` Mum's at the counter paying for the books.'' Fred continued where his twin left off, ``we were sent to collect the prince and bring him back to his people.''

Any leftover annoyance at the twin's attempt to scare him was gone and Ron put the book in his hand away and went back with his brothers. In the sort period of around thirty minutes, Ron had managed to memorise around twenty books with titles like Fundamentals of Potion Making, Runes 101, Common Magical Plants, A book of Thousand Spells, etc. the last book was particularly hard to memorise as it not only had descriptions of the spells but also the pronunciations, the hand motions, the warning and other things as well. There were some very interesting spells in there that Ron was very excited to try out. Although there were books of much higher grade back home and contained extremely profound knowledge, he lacked the basics in any and all topics to be able to use the books at home.

``That would be 30 Galleons Madam Weasley.'' Ron was shocked at the price of his brother's books. Not because it was expensive but because it was cheap, extremely cheap He had read somewhere in his previous life that the average cost of each years materials for Hogwarts was around 100 Galleons and 50 Galleons of that was just for books! While Molly was paying the shopkeeper, Ron's mind was full of thoughts like, `I can't believe anyone would actually chose to buy books from anywhere else but here. What's wrong with the wizard kind's brains?!' although Ron's thinking process was correct, he had forgotten than it wasn't just the wizards and witches that did this, it was the muggles who behaved this way as well. They all want to have the latest and the brand new. Although the shop's sign was simple and rustic, the Second Hand Bookstore had a much wider variety of books as alongside Hogwarts Books, people also sold their own books as well. In the original timeline, Harry would find a Potions book in Hogwarts that had notes and marks in it that helped him become a `genius' in potion making. It was the same concept but people always want to keep their `image'.

The rest of the trip only took around twenty minutes, they only had to get a Wand as Bill was going to `inherit' most of his equipment from his parents. Once again the thought of his family's financial situation brought down Ron's mood but not for long. He had already had some ideas prior to his visit to Diagon Alley but to put those ideas into practice, he still needed some fundamental knowledge and he had gained some of that knowledge today. `Three Years! no, two years max! I will make the Weasley name resound in the Wizarding world.' While the thought was grand and majestic, the person who had it was currently holding his mother's hand so that he wouldn't be lost in the crowd. ``Alright everyone, take a sip of the potion. You two! I don't care if you enjoy the feeling of nausea, take the potion.''

Molly was currently standing in front of a fireplace getting ready to use the Floo but as there were children with her, they had to take a special potion so that they didn't end up emptying their stomachs mid-travel or worse. As soon as the family got home, the twins took the bags from their mother and took out their most prized possession that they had gotten by annoying their mother to the utmost limit, `Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans'. ``Mum, what have you done?!'' everyone gulped at the sight of the twins holding the sweets and smiling like crazy.
