355 Forced Away from the War Intent Cliff
The two groups fell silent.
One was waiting to see what the other would do, while the other was desperately trying to think of a way out.
By now, the other martial artists on the grass field had turned their attention towards them, eager to see the start of a new show.
Lu Tianzi's gaze scanned over the members of the other party.
While ignoring the glares from them, Lu Tianzi's gaze eventually fell upon the short plump man from before, and he could not help but feel surprised.
After getting hit by the Palm of Thousand Venoms two weeks ago, the short plump man's companions had struggled to keep the poison suppressed.
But now, his condition seemed to have improved drastically. Even though he had not completely rid himself of the poison, he was at least no longer in any immediate danger.
From that, as well as how the people in the group addressed each other, Lu Tianzi could roughly surmise what happened.
It was likely that the group was unable to handle the poison from the Palm of Thousand Venoms. Therefore they had requested for help from their master, who was none other than the wrinkled old man.
After arriving, the wrinkled old man not only managed to suppress the poison from the Palm of Thousand Venoms, he also decided to pay Lu Tianzi's group a visit to exact revenge for his disciples.
Standing at the back of the group, the short plump man currently had a grin on his face, obviously pleased with what was happening.
"Fucking brat, what are you looking at?" the bearded man snapped at Lu Tianzi before turning his attention back to Young Master Xuan Hao. "And what's taking you so long to decide? Hurry it up, we don't have all day!"
"What insolence!" Ruan Ling could not hold back any longer. "Do you even know who you are talking to right now?"
"Ruan Ling!" Young Master Xuan Hao called out immediately, stopping her from saying more.
"Tch!" Ruan Ling could only click her tongue in frustration.
The wrinkled old man looked at Ruan Ling and smiled. "Don't bother, little girl. The real world is not as simple as you think. You won't be able to intimidate me with such obvious antiques."
Young Master Xuan Hao let out a deep breath before turning to Lu Tianzi. "I'm sorry, Brother Tianzi, but we might have to leave this place for now."
"Don't worry about it," Lu Tianzi shook his head with a smile. "Just do what you have to."
While it might seem shameful to retreat without even trying to put up a fight, Lu Tianzi believed that Young Master Xuan Hao was making the right choice.
The War Intent Cliff would always be here.
Since there was an obvious difference between them and the other party in terms of both cultivation level and numbers, they would only be putting themselves at a disadvantage if they decided to stay and fight.
Rather than that, they might as well just back off for now and return in the future.
After checking that Nanlan Qianxue and Ruan Ling had no objections, Young Master Xuan Hao led the way as the group reluctantly departed from the area.
"That's right. Scram like the dogs that you are!" the bearded man sneered. "Master, you are still the best! Now that you have arrived, they no longer dare to resist!"
"They are just a bunch of kids, there's nothing impressive about this," the wrinkled old man smirked proudly. "All right, I will be taking your junior back with me now, so the rest of you can stay on and cultivate. You'd better have improved by the time you come back."
"Yes, Master!" the members of the bearded group answered in unison.
In another corner of the grass field, a veiled lady discreetly sent a message through her communication ring. "Get ready, they just left. And you are right, it seems like they really might not be just some random brats."
"Of course I am right. Have you ever seen a normal Second Cycle Origin Core realm martial artist beat someone at the Fifth Cycle Origin Core realm?" Snake Fist Luo's voice came from the other end of the communication ring. "We will be there soon, just make sure you don't get discovered while tailing them."
"Discovered? Who do you think I am?" the lady confidently replied. "I can't wait to see what kind of treasures these kids have on them!"

After leaving the War Intent Cliff, Lu Tianzi's group of four gathered below a nearby tree.
"I'm really sorry," Ruan Ling was feeling extremely depressed at the moment.
She knew that she was the main reason why the group had ended up being chased away from the War Intent Cliff.
None of this would have happened if she did not recklessly compete for the spot that was directly underneath the War Intent Cliff.
"You don't have to blame yourself, things don't always go the way we expect them to," Young Master Xuan Hao tried to console her.
But seeing that his words did little to alleviate the guilt in Ruan Ling's heart, Young Master Xuan Hao tried to change the topic. "Why did we stop though? Is there something else that Brother Tianzi wants to do here?"
There was nothing impressive about Mount Asui apart from the War Intent Cliff.
Now that they could no longer cultivate at the War Intent Cliff, the obvious course of action should be for them to return to Sacred Cliff City.
Even if they wished to return in the future, they would have to at least wait till the bearded man's group leave. For now, staying around on the mountain seemed to have no benefits whatsoever.
However, Lu Tianzi still told everyone to stop for a moment. That was something Young Master Xuan Hao could not understand.
"There is a place that I want to check out," Lu Tianzi explained.
"On Mount Asui?" Young Master Xuan Hao raised an eyebrow. "Where is it?"
Lu Tianzi did not even know about Mount Asui or the War Intent Cliff until Young Master Xuan Hao told him about it, and now Lu Tianzi suddenly had somewhere he wanted to check out on the mountain?
"To be frank, I don't know where it is exactly either," Lu Tianzi scratched his cheek in embarrassment. "It is fine if you guys wish to return first. I can just take a look around on my own."
"I will go with you," Nanlan Qianxue said without hesitation.
"I know," Lu Tianzi smiled.
On the other hand, Young Master Xuan Hao and Ruan Ling exchanged hesitant glances.
"Why don't you return to Sacred Cliff City for now?" Young Master Xuan Hao suggested. "I will return after accompanying Brother Tianzi."
In Young Master Xuan Hao's eyes, Lu Tianzi just wanted to try his luck and see if he could find a place similar to the War Intent Cliff.
At the same time, Young Master Xuan Hao also believed that this was nothing but a waste of time.
But just like Ruan Ling, Young Master Xuan Hao was feeling guilty that Lu Tianzi and Nanlan Qianxue had to leave the War Intent Cliff because of them. That was why he decided to go along with Lu Tianzi.
On the other hand, he could also see how mentally exhausted Ruan Ling was, and did not want her to feel obliged to come along.
"If you are going then I am going too," Ruan Ling answered.
Young Master Xuan Hao looked at her and let out a helpless sigh. "All right then, where do we go now?"
Lu Tianzi smiled in response. "To the other side of the War Intent Cliff."
Back when he managed to establish a connection with the indentation in the War Intent Cliff, Lu Tianzi guessed that the indentation must have been created by an attack that came from the other side of the cliff wall.
He had been curious about this matter ever since then.
Now that they were forced to leave the War Intent Cliff, it was naturally the best opportunity to go check it out.
In fact, his desire to check out the other side of the cliff wall was also the main reason why he had so readily agreed to leave the War Intent Cliff.
"The other side of the War Intent Cliff?" Young Master Xuan Hao asked. "Isn't that the other face of Mount Asui? According to the map I got, there shouldn't be anything there, but if Brother Tianzi is curious, I can lead the way there."
"You have my gratitude, Brother Xuan Hao," Lu Tianzi agreed.
Just like that, Young Master Xuan Hao led the group around the mountain.
With a map in hand, he was able to avoid unnecessary detours, thus saving them quite a bit of time.
Because of that, it did not take long before they arrived at the other face of Mount Asui.
However, arriving there only allowed the group to confirm that there was absolutely nothing that sets it apart from the other areas of the mountain.
It was silent and deserted, with nobody around to disturb them. But neither was there anything that seemed even remotely worth their time to investigate.
No matter how they looked, there was nothing but ordinary vegetation in the vicinity.
Unsure of what to do next, Young Master Xuan Hao and Ruan Ling could only turn towards Lu Tianzi to hear out what he had to say.
Unfortunately, Lu Tianzi had no idea where or what he was looking for either.
"Hmm..." Lu Tianzi rubbed his chin in contemplation. "Give me some time."
His eyes shone with a silvery light as he scanned the area, trying to find some irregularity in terms of energy.
But after an hour of searching, Lu Tianzi could not help but let out a sigh.
Even with the Limitless Mirror Eye, Lu Tianzi could see nothing out of the ordinary with his surroundings.
Of course, this was only to be expected.
The War Intent Cliff had already existed for a long time. Since everyone believed that these were marks of battle, people surely would have looked around Mount Asui in search for a similar cultivation spot.
If there were any spots with an obviously higher density of energy, it would surely have been discovered by now.
Realising that this was going nowhere, Lu Tianzi finally stopped.
However, this did not mean that he was giving up.
Instead, he closed his eyes and sat down on the spot, spontaneously entering a state of light meditation.
"Brother Tianzi???? Young Master Xuan Hao felt the corner of his lips twitch.
The group of them came here to accompany Lu Tianzi, but the latter just suddenly decided to start cultivating?
"Let's just wait a while longer," Nanlan Qianxue said with a smile.
"This... all right then," Young Master Xuan Hao hesitated for a moment before agreeing.
He and Ruan Ling walked over to a nearby tree before entering a state of light meditation themselves.
Since they had no idea how long they had to wait, they decided that they might as well take the time to cultivate.
Only Nanlan Qianxue stood by Lu Tianzi's side, patiently waiting to see if there was anything she could help with.
Just like Young Master Xuan Hao, Nanlan Qianxue did not know how long they had to wait.
But unlike Young Master Xuan Hao, she clearly understood that there was no way Lu Tianzi would bring all of them over here, only to start cultivating on his own.
There must be a particular reason why Lu Tianzi had suddenly entered a state of light meditation.
And she was right.
Lu Tianzi had entered a state of light meditation only because he wanted to focus on sensing the surroundings with his perception.
After the two weeks spent cultivating at the War Intent Cliff, not only had Lu Tianzi's perception become much stronger than before, his control over it had also improved.
Right now, rather than extending his perception out in all directions, Lu Tianzi slowly narrowed his perception down to the size of a single thread.
While doing this greatly reduced the area that he could perceive, it also amplified his senses multiple fold.
Not just that, but there was even a hint of the Law of Origin infused into this thread-like perception.
As long as there was anything that was of the same origin as the mysterious energy that he had felt from the War Intent Cliff, this hint of the Law of Origin would help in picking up the traces.
Lu Tianzi carefully stretched out this thread-sized perception, carefully combing through their surroundings inch by inch.
With how much there was to cover, it was bound to take a long time.
But Lu Tianzi did not rush.
Since he was already here, he did not intend to do things in a half-hearted manner.
Lu Tianzi understood that this was the only way he could be sure that he would not miss a thing. Therefore, he meticulously continued with the task, not leaving any stone unturned.
An hour passed, then another.
It was only after three hours had passed that Lu Tianzi finally detected something.
Here!
Lu Tianzi's eyes shot open, his heart pumping fast in exhilaration.
In one inconspicuous corner shrouded by dense vegetation, Lu Tianzi finally found a slight trace of the mysterious energy that he had felt from the War Intent Cliff earlier.
His conjecture was right.
That huge indentation on the War Intent Cliff was indeed linked to the other side of the cliff wall!
