3 The Half Beginning
"In a dark dungeon, mold, and mildew permeated the air, chained to the wall, I sat, waiting to become an animal... This is where I began."
Darkness, that was all I saw. Groaning, I lifted my head, painfully aware that my end was near. They always said that it was hopeless, I agree, It was. Nothing was going to save me from losing memories I wish I could keep, of the times when humans ran everything. Wallowing in my despair, I sat and waited for that dreadful sound of clanking chainmail armor.
Glancing around at the cell, I saw a gleam of metal. 'Shink' My chains clamored about as I reached for the shining metal. I groped at it, stretching for the object just out of reach. "Gotcha!" I cried out in excitement, perhaps a bit too loudly. I covered my mouth with my hand, sneakily glancing about to see if anyone had heard me. I shrugged, it was my last day as a human, so why should I care? I carefully examined the object in my hands, eyeing it warily. 'Gasp!' The metal object was a key! I shook, looking at my savior, I was overjoyed. I whipped the key into the lock and turned. 'Shick' It successfully popped open.
At that point, I should have thought, 'What was the key doing there in the first place?' yet I didn't, I was too delighted at the thought of escape. Excited, I clambered forward and slipped through the bars. I glanced around, noticing that I was the only one left, I despaired for my friends who had left before me.
'Clank' 'Clank' The sound of metal on stone sounded through the prison, I panicked, Dropping the key, I sprinted into my cell. Soon, a large round of laughter reached my ears.
"And then I said 'It's useless to escape!' and left a key for him to 'escape'" said one of the guards, "He probably thinks he's smart, trying to escape with a bugged key" another round of laughter echoed through the corridor.
My happy thoughts vanished, my despair turned into depression, and I gave up. The guards reached me. They were big and buff, with a rat tails poking out from their armor. The biggest one smirked at me, and said loudly, "So, you tried to escape? Think you're smart doncha? Big whoop, anyways, you know the drill, come with us or die..." I thought furiously, frantically trying to find a way out. The smallest guard was smarter than the rest, he threw something at me, and the time I saw it was when it hit me.
Everything turned black.
The next thing I knew, was that I was strapped into a table, unable to do anything, a doctor, who was a dog, injected a syringe into my arms, and legs. Then came the pain, it was so intense I was knocked out after 3 seconds of agony.
