Heretic in the Heavens

26 Kewang Tian – Natural Born Spirit Walker Part 3

Kewang Tian could hear the pain in her words, making a small, but noticeable pain appears in his heart.

Knock! There was someone knocking at the door of the bamboo hit before he could ask who it was two people entered the room.

One was a middle-aged man, with a large face, straight eyebrows, and a slightly crooked nose. He looked dignified, and sported several scars across his face, each one radiating an aura of experience and pride across his face!

The other was, of course, Lie Qu Shin.

They walked in, both stopping shortly before him. The middle-aged man started stroking his chin gently, "Interesting, this is the boy."

His voice was slow and gentle, rather soothing. Immediately relaxing Kewang Tian.

"Greetings little Tian, this is the head of Abyssal School's Spirit Hall. He is currently the most talented Spirit Binder in the Lower Continent and had studied in The Land of the Heavenly Way in his past."

Kewang Tian's mouth went into an 'O' shape as he heard the credentials, as Old Shen had told him whispers about the Land of the Heavenly Way before!

"N-nice to meet you!" Kewang Tian stuttered.

"Not that impressive." The Spirit Hall Master said.

Kewang Tian's face sunk.

"He's not even started to cultivate. Although Spirit Binders don't need to cultivate, it would be best if you did. You look around 17, if you don't get to the Construction Realm in the next 33 years, you'll probably die of old age. Boy remember Spirit Binding may be another path to ultimate power, yet there are limits to it."

"In the upper realms, there have been those that Conquer and control those realms, many of which were Spirit Binders. They eliminated all in their path, yet they had one fatal flaw, they all died young!"

"They neglected their cultivation! By the time they tried to raise it they had wasted their talent, and hit bottleneck after bottleneck, sending them to an early grave!"

Kewang Tian started to shake, evidently, he was frightened listening to this speech!

"Take none of it to mind." Ming Yue's voice sounded in his hears.

[Really.] Kewang Tian nervously sweated.

"Are you a human that can only live to fifty?!" she barked at him.

Kewang Tian started to calm down thinking about it and then started to smile slowly.

"Good, good! He isn't afraid! You see that Old Shin! I want him, if you told the truth about his situation it means that he is intrinsically tied to that place, and while he may be a ruff one – he is still a diamond!"

His smile went to both ears, making it look like his face is going to split apart.

"Of course, Hall Master He!" Lie Qu Shin's face lit up, he had found a great talent this time.

"Say, old Shin, are the new batch of disciples going to be admitted soon?" Hall Master, He asked curiously.

"Yes. There should be a few thousand prospective disciples. Only around five percent of which will pass, although there are some prospective few this year. I hear one has an Earth Ranked Martial Spirit!" Lie Qu Shinn seemed satisfied, nodding happily at this future disciple.

"Well, I believe that little Tian should go through this. It will improve his fortitude and increase his competitiveness! Perhaps he will be able to rival those few who pass." Hall Master, He suggested.

"But what if he fails?!" Lie Qu Shin's face soured.

If he failed it would be impossible to even directly admitting him, as all in the Abyssal School would know he was a failure!

"He won't fail. I can feel his Spiritual connection from here, he's a natural born Spirit Walker! If he has a Mortal Ranked Spirit I should be able to take him as a disciple of my Spirit Hall! If he talented enough all around, I'll personally mentor him!" Hall Master, He smiled, apparently expecting big things to come from the boy!

"You'll take care of the arrangements in the meantime I take it." Hall Master, He bowed his head softly and turned around to leave.

Their whole conversation made Kewang Tian extremely nervous.

"Senior Lie." Kewang Tian asked.

Coming out of his daze, Lie Qu Shin looked to him.

"What is it little Tian?"

"I've never cultivated. Won't I fail in the selection processes?" Kewang Tian was panicking.

Lie Qu Shin shook his head, chuckling lightly to himself.

"There's nothing to be afraid of. There aren't any cultivation requirements to take part in this trial. In fact, this will be an awakening ceremony for many of those kids. Abyssal School has never discriminated against any person, if they have enough talent they are admitted. Peasant or Emperor, Man or Woman, Child or Adult, it makes no difference to us."

Lie Qu Shin was extremely proud of the fact that Abyssal School took in anybody, providing they were talented enough of course. It was widely known a few hundred years ago the Han dynasty had clashed with Abyssal School, when they had chosen a fisherman's son, over the crown prince at the time. Was it any coincidence that this boy's family name was Zin? Who knew, but what many people did know is that the boy was talented, enough so to overthrow and upturn many things – all with the support of the Abyssal School of course.
