The Emptiness Of A Slayer

10 The Silver Menace 2

After hours of reading.. They barely learned anything. This system was very weird, no year of the Academy had done this before, it could be a new change, but new changes in the Celestial Academy were always announced at various news sources ages before they started the school year.

"This is useless.." Alice almost shouted, but managed to suppress her anger with a slight pout. This was really a waste of time according to her, and her teammates almost agreed with her, they just didn't want to face the truth.

"Whatcha doing here?" Ren looked up, hearing a familiar voice, it was Kashmir, his new 'friend'.

" We are looking for information about the new changes into the school system, it's quite unusual that we were 'forced' to form teams of five, especially since that has never happened before in this Academy." Ren looked at his friend and explained.

"Hello there, this is my team." Kashmir grinned as he pointed at four other people, which included a really muscular man that Ren was really sure was not fully human, he could swear on his life.

"His name is Alor, he might look threatening, but I assure you he is the opposite of it! He is quite nice and kind to all of us." Kashmir smiled.

He then pointed to a demi-human next to Alor. She had a pair of fox ears, and a fox tail, which was retracted inside her clothes, but Ren did notice it. The demi human had long spiky orange hair, which gave her a wild look, and azure eyes, with slits.

"This is Carla Foks, a demi human fox. Please do be nice to her, she is also a very good person." Kashmir smiled, he then pointed at another person, this time a normal looking human with glasses.

"This here is Thomas Walter, he can be a bit of an asshole sometimes, but usually he is very kind." Kashmir said with a deadpan expression, earning a punch by Thomas.

"You don't introduce your friend like that, moron." He said as he fixed his glasses. "And the final member is unfortunately not here. She is just too shy." Kashmir continued his introduction with a sigh.

Carla pouted," I could have forced her to come here but you didn't want me to~! You are our leader but still you can't let her do whatever she wants like that.. We are team now, we do everything together!" Kashmir just rolled his eyes.

"True, but I can't force her to come if she really doesn't want to come. It's not up to us to do that. If she wants to come so be it, if she doesn't so be it. She will open to us one day.. maybe?" He said.

Ren chuckled," Seems you have a problematic teammate."

"That's just the beginning of it." Kashmir said with a sigh,earning angry looks from his teammates, besides Alor, who was a man of few words, and didn't really want to be angry at anyone.

"Did you learn anything though? We were going to do the same as you guys, but since you already tried, let's say I don't want to waste my time for no purpose." Kashmir looked at team Apocalypse and asked.

"Nah, barely anything. Seems they are trying to either hide it, or it's an extremely new addition to the school year." Alice sighed as she put down a book she was holding, if one looked carefully at her they could see visible black lines below her eyes.

This testified that they really were trying very hard to find out what caused this to happen.

"So that's it huh.. No results.. Maybe the Academy will reveal something to us later.. Let's hope so or we will be left in the dark." Kashmir sighed as well.

"Wanna go and get some food and a drink? There is a new restaurant near the Academy, I've heard their food is the best." Ren looked at his teammates and nodded at Kashmir," Sure I have a bit of extra money I could use. It's my treat." He said as he looked at the 9 other people.

"Shall we go then?" Ren asked Kashmir who started leading his team and Ren's team to the restaurant, a few kilometers away from the Academy buildings. Ren nodded, this restaurant was better than the one he had been to a few days ago, that restaurant was still closed.. because of extensive damage done to it.

"Whoah, are you sure you can afford this for us, Ren?!" Alex gulped, this didn't really seem like a cheap place to eat in. " Don't worry, the 15 Sol Coins I got from our teacher are not the only ones I have." Ren said with a yawn.

"Still.. I highly doubt that even 100 Sol Coins are enough for a dinner for ten people here.." Alex said with another gulp, despite his family being very rich, he did not waste money like that. The highest amount of money he had directly spent had been just over 100 Sol Coins, 103 Sol Coins, to purchase his dream weapon, his Slayer Weapon.

Ren grinned, and took out a card. The card was shown to his friends.

[Balance - 23,943,134 Sol Coins]

The rest gasped. That was an amount even B Rank Slayers rarely had, and even A Rank Slayers took years to gather that amount. He was basically extremely rich, and could possibly rival some rich families.

"You are fucking rich man! From which family do you even come?!" Alex gasped, among the Newborn Slayers, only he had no idea how mysterious Ren was. However, from this amount of money he realized it was not very simple.

"I'm.. an Orphan, you can say my uncle took care of me since I was a little baby." Ren said with no emotions. He was not bothered when people asking him about this, he was very used to it. Many adults had asked the same thing when he was a small kid.

"I'm sorry for asking that." Alex apologized with sweat coming out of the back of his head. He felt bad for asking that. He didn't know how being an orphan felt, he had always been spoiled, so that was a new feeling for him.

"No worries, besides, what do you guys want to eat? Anything below 100 Sol per person is acceptable!" Ren grinned as he waved his credit card balance at his friend, with a smirk visible in his face.

Alice then smiled, while she did feel bad for Ren, she did not deny she wanted a very good meal after that much information seeking, it tired her body physically and mentally, a good meal would help her heal her damage.

Laura and Albion sighed, they knew of Ren's background and life, after all the trio had known each other for years, ever since they were very small you could say, the three meet each other when they were eight.

"Let's go inside then." Ren chuckled as he sat at a table, with enough chairs for all of them.

~~~
"I'm so tired~." Kashmir let a relaxed sigh as he finished his dish. Besides him, his team did the same.
"I hope you enjoyed it." Ren said, as he finished his own 'dishes'. Yes, dishes not 'dish'. He had eaten seven dishes by his own, nothing special. Slayers needed a lot of energy to keep their work up.
"Waiter, what is the total cost?" Ren gave a sign to the waiter, calling him.
"Hold on, sir." The waiter said as he used his futuristic machine to check the total price. " around 1493 Sol.
Ren swiped his credit card on front of the futuristic machine, and the numbers in his credit card slightly lowered. " This barely gave a scratch to it." He chuckled as he got up, ready to leave the restaurant.
He then felt someone nearhim, and pat his shoulder. His cold crimson red eyes looked at the person responsible for this,a middle aged man. He didn't really have much to differ him from the other average men.
"Sir, can you come with us for a minute?" The man said to Ren, the rest of his team had already left, so he was the only one left in the restaurant. Said boy growled," What do you want?" He disliked people who touched him so casually.
"I was hoping you could 'obediently' come with me, sir." The man said again, his black coat waving in the air. "What if I said no?" Ren said as his eyebrows knitteh each other. Was this another 'robbery' case?
Ah, well, he was bored ,he could as well follow this man to see what he wanted from him. "I wouldn't want to be in your position if so." Ren chuckled," Fine, I'll come, just don't try to do anything stupid."
The man smiled, he didn't want an useless fight. He was pretty sure he couldn't even win that fight, he was just bluffing. He led Ren outside the restaurant, and to a nearby car, where he told Ren to enter it.
They both entered it, and the driver started the engine, and drove off. Ren yawned, he couldn't see anything through the windows, as they were purely black, and that meant he had no idea where they were going, but he was not stupid, he was using Exo Particles to locate himself, which was easy, his Exo control was monstrous, so he was able to fool even the man, who even if he knew couldn't do much.
Ren was bored, so he started a conversation. " What's your name mister? You already know mine, but I don't know yours, that's rude!"
The man gained a tick mark in his forehead," My name is none of your concerns, but you can call me Leonardo, it's one of my false names."
"And this here is our stop." Leonardo chuckled as the driver turned off the engine, and waited for the two others to leave the car. Ren looked at Leonardo and opened his car door.
"Where is this place?"
