3 He is a King...But also a Father
Samael arrived at the main hall with Princess Lina, a great door was opened before them. The guards guarding the doors announced their arrival.
"The second Princess, Lina, arrives, your majesty."
Looking ahead, Samael saw the structure of the hall. At the very back, the King sat at his throne atop five flights of step. A glorious mural was behind him, depicting the establishment of this kingdom by his ancestors. Beneath him were a group of royal guards, donned in golden armor.
There was also a half-circle table where the different officials sat.
When the Guards announced the princess's arrival the numerous court officials looked over and saw a the gorgeous young woman. They silently praised her beauty in their hearts. But then they saw a Handsome young man who looked as eye catching as the princess herself.
But it was different, he was eye catching in the sense that the way he carries himself is unique. There is a sense of mystery and unmatched grandeur. Like an Emperor, this young man's presence was even more commanding than the king himself and he still hasn't spoken or done anything yet.
The King stared at the pair, frowning. He had long heard that his daughter brought home a mysterious young man, he hasn't seen who this young man was until now.
"Lina." The King said. Princess Lina courteously bowed and smile "Father."
"Investigate the matter completely spare no effort. We must learn what happened at the Azure Thunder Mountain range. You all may go." The king stood up and waved his hands.
The court officials stood and saluted "Yes, your majesty." And they slowly went on their way after bidding the princess goodbye. Before they went they carefully examined the young man beside her who was wearing a light smile on him. Like everything that happening was very normal for him.
Once all of the Officials was gone, all that was left in the room were the King, the Princess , Samael and the guards. The king nodded his head and the group of guards exited the room as well.
"Who are you? Who sent you?" the king domineeringly asked.
"Father, you're being rude to my guest!" The Princess heard her father's tone and got upset. Her father scoffed and he continued to stare at Samael, waiting for his answer.
"Heh..." A small laugh could be heard from Samael.
"Do you think this is funny?! Who sent you? Richard of Hundred Rivers? Jeremiah of Blue Forest? Tell me!"
"Father, enough!" The Princess stomped her feet, displeased by her father's actions. She had brought Samael as her guest to be welcomed not interrogated.
But before she could say anything more, Samael waved his hand at her to stop her and he smiled. Samael had a sharp look in his eyes and he said "Richard of Hundred River? Jeremiah of Blue forest? I do not know who these people are, nor do i care to know."
The King's eye widened as he heard what the young boy said. He has lived most of his life as royalty and never once has anyone spoken to him in such as tone. In all his days as a king, no one has ever disrespected him. His eyes flared up as he said. "Mind your tone, boy-"
"No, you mind your tone old man..." But before he could say anything else, Samael took one step forward and from him, a torrent of pressure enveloped the king.
But this was not a type of pressure when fighting an enemy, no, this was a pressure from one who has the bearing of a True King.
The Princess felt the aura that exuded from Samael's body and she unconsciously felt a gap between their bearings. She, like any others of noble birth have gotten the air of nobility as they grew older but this young man beside her, the feeling she got, it was like he was born with it.
"I do not care for your accusations or whatever assumptions you have in your mind. Get this straight. I...Serve....No one..." Every word that came from Samael's mouth contained an unconcealed pride and disdain to whatever the king's thought to what his origins were. He continued to stare into the king's eyes before he turned around "Now, I'm going back if you still want to question me."
Samael walked towards the large door and every step he took reverberated throughout the whole room. The King and the Princess was left speechless as Samael opened the door himself and walked back to his own room.
The sudden change in his behavior, that aura of majesty and air of loftiness. His words contained the immense pride he had in himself and shocked both the Princess and the king, leaving them both dumbfounded.
Bang!
The large door was shut close, silence permeated the air as neither father nor daughter spoke for a while.
"Sigh...Forgive me, my daughter. The incident yesterday...greatly shocked me. The thing with the mountain ranges, the attack at you and then you suddenly return with a stranger? I was just worried, you have to remember that we have many enemies and they are willing to use any method to bring me down." The king sighed.
Then he stood up and walked down to his daughter, ruffling her hair. "As a king, i worry that he might be a spy or assassin sent by our enemies and what kind of father wouldn't worry when his daughter suddenly brings back a mysterious young man?" The King complained, but he had a caring look on his face.
The princess laugh and said "I know of your worries, dad, but you have to trust me. He is not our enemy, not at the moment i'm afraid." her final sentence had a light tone, almost like a joke.
"Sigh, alright I will speak with you two later but for now i have more pressing matters to attend to." The King said.
The Princess perked up upon hearing this and asked. "That's right! Speaking of which, so what did our scouts learn about what happened at the Azure Thunder Mountain ranges?"
The King turned his back on his daughter and told her the reports, his daughter had always been intelligent and often offers good points about any situations.
"The scouts said that balls of fire parted the black clouds of the mountain range and it fell to the sky. Then they said that experts appeared on the scene. I have sent someone to ask about the opinions and findings of the famous sects near and inside our kingdom. One common thing they said was. that...A dimensional rift was opened."
"A dimensional rift? But I thought that was just a myth." The Princess said.
"The top sects and clans had always known it to be true. It was only yesterday that we and the other middle class clans and sect learned of this." The King said, the news shook him greatly as it means that other realms do exist and it was possible to travel to them.
"Then we got to prepare. If dimensional rifts are true and the top sects and clans know of this, then they know how to open them. Countless lower sects and clan would come lining up to offer them anything just to give them a chance to enter these foreign lands." The Princess quickly understood the situation.
"Yes, and though these top level existence would not easily open the rift for lower level existences such as us. Anyone would eventually get annoyed by the continuous pestering and when they do..." The King was pleased by his daughter's grasp of the situation.
"-we'll be there, ready to compete for a spot." The princess now understood her father's intentions.
"Exactly, and for that to happen we must prepare and raise our strength. We can surprise our enemies when the time comes but first we must conceal our preparations. We must be careful of spies and assassins, who knows what that young man's origin is? That's why I was wary of him"
"I understand father but I am certain that we can trust him." The king was pleased that the matter earlier was resolve then he teased "Very well you can return to your new boy-toy now."
The princess was about to walk out when she heard her father's words. She stomped her feet, blushing "Father!"
The king heartily laughed seeing his daughter's reaction and he felt a great deal of stress was relieved. He watched as his daughter walked out of the door and slowly, his smile disappeared and a more serious expression took over. With a light breath he spoke "Carefully monitor the boy, make sure nothing happens to my daughter."
It was like he was speaking to no one but a light sound of movement could be heard moving, if one listened carefully.
That attitude of that boy clearly shook him, it gave him a sense of trepidation that when this young man grows up he will be a mighty and fearsome existence. When those crimson eyes stared at his, it was like he was going to be devoured, sucked into a realm of blood. Though the young man's eyes were calm, you couldn't help but shudder when he stared at you as that aura of majesty was exuded out from his body.
Though the king was lightly scared of that young man, even with his level of strength he still couldn't trust him, not yet. He is a king but before that he is a father...He couldn't let his daughter be left alone with a mysterious and possibly dangerous person.
