146 What A Heartless Man
Therius was really surprised to see Emma's topaz eyes open and stare at him from such close proximity.
For a moment he was stunned.
He swallowed hard.
Actually, as the crown prince and the leader of this mission, he could do however he liked and not care about Emma's protest.
But he was thinking long-term. From any angle, he would be at a loss if he did things that would give Emma more reasons to hate him.
Therius had fallen for this curt girl and hoped that he would one day marry her out of love. He did not want to eliminate his chance to zero because of something like this. Even though Emma hated him now, he still hoped to show her that he was actually a decent man.
Even if Emma still could not love him when they got married in the future, he did not want his life with her to be bitter and depressing. At least, they must be able to be civil with each other, especially if their marriage would involve having children.
Gosh .. what am I thinking? Therius scolded himself.
He stepped back and tried to say something to apologize. He got carried away just now and immediately regretted that he almost kissed her.
However, before any sound came out of his lips, Emma suddenly closed her eyes again. Then she fell back asleep as if nothing happened.
Ahh...
Therius had never felt so relieved in his life.
Crisis avoided.
He stood still for a few moments and tried to think of the risks he would face the next day.
If Emma remembered this event tomorrow when she woke up, she would realize that Therius was in her room when she was sleeping. She would easily deduce that it was Therius who brought her to her room.
And she would suspect that Therius did try to kiss her...
Ah... This is really bad!
Therius couldn't take that risk now. If Emma hadn't woken up like that, there would be no problem. But now, he did not want to take any risk.
He removed the blanket from Emma's body and carefully lifted her from the bed. Very gently, he then carried Emma in his arms out of the room and took her back to the library.
When he arrived there, Therius immediately laid the girl back on the sofa and then covered her with a blanket. Therius then walked out of the library.
Before he got to the door, he turned and looked at the girl for a long time. He really hoped Emma would not remember the incident earlier.
After making sure Emma slept well, he went out and closed the door behind him.

Six hours later, Emma stretched her arms and opened her eyes slowly. She felt her body was aching all over from an uncomfortable sleeping position. It took her a few seconds to be fully awake and realize where she was.
"Gosh ...!" She immediately sat up and looked around with a surprised expression. "I fell asleep in the library?"
She massaged her head and sighed softly. "How could Therius let me sleep in the library??? Gosh... What a heartless man!"
Emma immediately threw the blanket that covered her body and got up from the sofa. It seemed like she had slept for a long time. While grumbling, she then returned to her room and continued to rest there.
As a sign of protest, to show her displeasure of how Therius treated her, she deliberately skipped Therius' class that afternoon (The ship was deliberately designed to 'show' day and night situation to help maintain the passengers' biological clock).
Atila ended up knocking on Emma's door to ensure that she was all right.
"Hello, Miss Emma. Sir Therius wanted to know why you didn't come to the library to study with him?" Atila asked after Emma opened the door. "He thought you are sick, but I told him that you attended my class as well as Anddara's. Now, Sir Therius became confused and wanted to know what had happened."
Emma rolled her eyes. Therius was indeed very annoying. Just because he was a prince, he sent someone else to ask about her condition.
He should have realized that if Emma came to Atila and Anddara's classes but skipped his class, it must be intentional. He must know that Emma was angry at her third teacher.
That should have been enough to make Therius understand that his action last night, leaving Emma to sleep in the library just like that, was unacceptable and only showed that he was truly heartless.
"Just tell him I'm not feeling well because I spent all night sleeping on the library couch. Since he was so heartless and left me there, I decided to skip his class and get proper rest."
Atila was astonished by Emma's answer.
Gosh ... She didn't expect Prince Therius to be that cold and heartless to Emma.
How could he do that to a girl? Atila had seen the couch. It was too short for anyone to get a comfortable sleep.
"All right, Miss. I understand. Please take your time to rest. I will tell Sir."
Atila excused herself and return to the library. She told Therius exactly what happened.
"Miss Emma is feeling unwell because apparently last night you left her to sleep on the library couch. Miss decided to skip your class to make up for her poor sleep."
Therius frowned. "Emma's not feeling well?"
He rose from his chair and walked out of the library. Without turning his head, he raised his right hand and signaled Atila to come with him. "You come with me to check her health."
Atila shook her head and quickly walked to Therius' side and tried to explain to him what really happened.
"Uhm... that's not it, Sir. She is not sick. She is just mad at your for being so heartless and let her sleep on that small couch. That's why she skipped your class. There is nothing to worry about. She is fine." Atila smile awkwardly. "I think you should just leave her be... unless you want to go there to apologize."
