208 Akkadias Capital From The Air
Therius' mind stirred from its reverie as Emma wiped her lips with a napkin and finished dinner. The girl turned and stared at him.
"So, are we going now?" asked the girl.
Luckily Therius was very good at hiding his feelings. Even though he was nervous to death, in front of Emma, ??his expression was as flat as ever.
"Yes," said Therius. He got up and took Emma in his arms. Before leaving the dining room, he nodded at Xion. "We'll go first. See you later at 9 pm."
"Hmm ..." Xion nodded as he took a bite from a big delicious rib. He seemed far from over with his dinner.
To be honest, even though he didn't like being in the capital, Xion was a fan of good food. By far, the most delicious food he had ever tasted was the food in Daneria and in the capital. Since tomorrow he had to go back to the mountain, he decided to enjoy a delicious meal as much as he could.
Emma walked out of the dining room with Therius. She didn't ask where the man wanted to take her. She suspected that Therius wanted to talk about something important, and she didn't want to ask too many questions. She figured the man would tell her when the time was right.
When they reached the small garden in the middle of Therius' palace complex, Emma saw a very handsome silver pegasus horse standing, waiting for them. Emma involuntarily sighed in admiration, the moment her eyes caught sight of the majestic animal. She immediately ran toward it and rubbed its mane.
The big, gallant horse turned his head at her and gave her a friendly snort. Both wings were folded, and he looked so relaxed. Emma touched the horse's mane and brushed it with her fingers. She felt like touching the finest silk. It was really soft!
"He is beautiful," Emma said admiringly. "What is his name?"
"His name?" Therius shook his head. "We don't give names to animals."
"Tss ..." Emma pursed her lips. "This beautiful Pegasus doesn't have a name? Why not?"
Therius smiled, seeing her pout. "Do YOU want to name it?"
"May I?" asked Emma. Her cold face began to brighten. When she saw Therius nod, the girl immediately twitched her brows, trying to think of the best name for the animal. "Hmm ... I'll call him, Phalia."
Emma remembered the most famous horse in history was Bucephalus. It was Alexander the Great's warhorse. Bucephalus took Alexander in so many victorious battles. Because he admired and loved his horse dearly, Alexander named two cities after his favorite ride, namely Bucephala and Phalia.
"Then, his name is Phalia." Therius nodded. He then patted the beautiful horse on the back and signaled for Emma to get on it. "Come on up on Phalia. I want to take you somewhere."
Emma nodded happily and immediately hopped onto Phalia's back. After the girl sat nicely on the horse, Therius got on the pegasus's back and sat behind Emma.
He bent a little and patted Phalia's neck. Immediately the horse spread its huge pair of wings and then dashed into the sky.
"Wow ..." Emma had to grab Phalia's neck as she was a little taken aback by the horse's sudden movement.
Therius hugged her waist from behind and whispered, "Don't hold on to Phalia's neck, let me hold you. I won't let you fall."
Emma could feel the man's warm breath against her neck as Therius came over to whisper to her ear. Finally, Emma complied and slowly let go of her grip.
Actually, she didn't have to worry about falling because Emma could fly. That was her body's spontaneous reaction because she had never ridden a flying horse before.
After the horse hovered gracefully over the city for a while, Emma finally looked back and asked Therius, "Where are we going?"
At first, she thought Therius was just going to talk to her inside his palace, but in fact, the man took her to another place.
"It's a surprise," Therius said in a mysterious tone.
"Is it far from here?" asked Emma. "Remember, we have an appointment with Xion at nine."
"Not far from here, but before we get there, I want to show you the capital," said Therius. "Didn't you ask permission to leave my palace and explore the surroundings? Now I'm taking you around. You can see as much as you like from above. Later tonight, we'll explore it from the land."
"Oh ..." Emma nodded in understanding. "Thank you."
From the moment she arrived in Akkadia, Emma had indeed repeatedly asked Therius to be allowed out to explore her surroundings, but the prince always forbade her, arguing that the situation was too dangerous for Emma.
She was the daughter of a traitor who had just been executed. If people knew who she was, they would likely hunt her to be taken as hostage.
Emma could accept that excuse. But that didn't mean she liked the situation. Until yesterday, Emma's goal was to venture outside to find a way to escape with Haoran.
Now, Haoran was gone. Emma had absolutely no more reasons to leave Akkadia.
The sky now had turned orange, and slowly, the various lights in the capital lit up. Nevertheless, Emma could still clearly see all the beautiful buildings that filled the city.
The shape of the Akkadian capital was like a huge circle. In the middle, there was a magnificent royal palace complex where the king resided, and next to it was the crown prince's palace, where Therius and she were staying.
The two palace complexes were protected by a huge white wall, and from the outside of the wall, there were various tall and handsome buildings, stretched all the way to the end of the city.
Two beautiful rivers crossed the city. Near the king's palace, there was a small lake. Emma also saw various large and small parks all over the city.
Akkadia's capital was the most beautiful city Emma had ever seen. She subconsciously held her breath in admiration.
