216 The Wedding 1
Emma hiccupped at the young man's words. She could feel Therius' heart pounding and his body temperature rising a few degrees. Ah, well... Of course this man must mean sleeping with her as her husband.
After they were married, Emma and Therius would remain in their separate rooms, until Emma was ready to accept him as her husband completely.
Finally, Emma nodded. "I hope so. Good night. Sleep well."
To comfort the young man, Emma tiptoed a little and kissed him on the cheek, to bid him goodnight.
Therius hugged Emma's waist and pulled her into his arms. He landed a passionate kiss on her lips. Reluctantly, he finally released the girl from his embrace.
"Good night," said Therius hoarsely. He looked at Emma, who turned and walked into her room and closed the door behind her.
After the girl disappeared from view, Therius still stood where he was for a few moments. He still felt Emma's scent linger in the air beside him. He closed his eyes and breathed in her scent, and smiled faintly.
Tomorrow, Emma Stardust would be his wife. He couldn't be happier.

Xion opened his eyes and immediately sat up in shock. It took him a while to remember where he was. Wait... where was he again?
Gosh ... apparently, he was still in the lounge. Xion looked at his body and realized that he looked disheveled and that his eyes were hurting. He didn't realize that he drank so much more than usual that he passed out in the lounge last night.
He didn't even know he could drink up to four bottles in one sitting. Crazy! Why was he like that? It wasn't like himself.
"Hey, you're awake?" Aeron voiced from beside him. The handsome man looked so fresh and happy, like always. He patted Xion's shoulder, who looked a little confused. Aeron shook his head and clicked. "Tsk tsk... Last night you drank so much that you got drunk and then you cried. Ouch .. you make my little heart sad."
"Don't be kidding me," Xion scolded Aeron irritably. "It's not remotely funny."
He never got drunk.
But, he also never drank as much as last night.
When the young man frowned and tried to remember what happened, he was able to confirm that Aeron was right. Last night he cried after finishing three bottles of wine and opening the fourth bottle. Xion instantly held his breath.
Did he do or say anything last night? How much did Aeron hear? His mind was in a muddle.
"If you don't want to come to the wedding, you can pretend that you're sick," Aeron commented firmly. "If Therius' wedding saddens you, you don't have to attend."
Xion stared at Aeron intently.
"Don't you dare tell anyone else," he said menacingly.
"Or what?" Aeron challenged Xion.
The mountain hermit could only swallow hard and looked away. At times like this, he envied Therius who was a telemancer and could control people's minds. Xion would have made Aeron forget the events of last night and never talk about it again.
"If you keep this secret, I will owe you one," Xion said finally, relenting. "Please don't tell anyone I love that girl."
Aeron stared at Xion for a long time and then nodded slowly. He had never been in love and didn't know what it was like to do anything for a girl. But it seems that his two school mates fell in love with the same girl.
"I'm not a gossip," said Aeron lightly.
"Thank you," Xion said quickly. He tapped Aeron's shoulder and immediately turned and got out of the lounge.
Damn it! It's already 9 am!
The wedding was in an hour and he hadn't even prepared any nice clothes.
Xion dashed toward the crown prince's palace and entered his room in the east tower. He looked disheveled and messy. Xion quickly took a shower and got ready.
Just when he was about to think about how he could get his hands on some fancy clothes to wear to Therius and Emma's wedding, suddenly his eyes caught sight of a stack of clothes neatly placed on the small table next to his bed.
Ah, it must be Therius who told his servants to prepare clothes for Xion. The man was scratching his head that was not itchy. He was happy because he didn't have to prepare his own clothes, especially at such a last minute.
However, on the other hand, he felt bad because it seemed like Therius really couldn't trust him with the simple task of looking decent enough to attend his wedding, that he had the servant prepare Xion's necessities.
Fortunately, Xion wasn't someone who was easily offended and dwell with negative emotions. He quickly wore the fancy attire and grooming himself in front of the mirror.
Ah, he looked so handsome. All this time, Xion had been hiding his charms behind an indifferent and careless appearance. Apart from being completely oblivious to the opposite sex, unlike most young men of his age, Xion did have a very simple personality.
Alright ... it seemed like he was ready. He tied his long golden hair with a simple ribbon to complete his look.
After he was satisfied with his appearance, Xion then came out of his room and went downstairs. There, his best friend was waiting for him on a big sofa. He looked happy but anxious at the same time.
"Hey, where have you been?" asked Therius, who could guess that Xion was almost late because he had gone out drinking the night before.
His best friend just smiled broadly and shrugged. "I met Aeron last night at the plaza, and he asked me to have a drink with him for old time's sake."
"Hmm ..." Therius stared at Xion for a long time. He felt like there was something different from Xion this morning. Unfortunately, Therius could not guess what it was. He couldn't read Xion's mind because his best friend was a powerful mage and would not allow his mind to be invaded.
"Where's Emma?" asked Xion. He cast his gaze around them.
"Avato and Atila were going to get her to her room. She will be here soon," Therius replied. Just as he finished speaking, the corner of his eye had seen Emma's arrival from the left with the two people he was talking about.
Instantly, Therius's pair of topaz eyes widened. He turned and gave Emma an adoring look.
Even though they were going to get married in such a simple ceremony, he still asked Atila to make sure Emma was wearing the most beautiful dress in the whole Akkadia on their wedding day. He wore his regal princely outfit. As Emma was still mourning, the color they chose was still purple.
Therius stretched out his hand and greeted Emma with a beaming face. As soon as he touched the girl's hand, Therius immediately approached and looked at Emma with adoration. His face was only inches away from her.
Today, Emma looked different. She wore an elegant purple dress, fit for a princess. It was decorated with various gemstone that shone under the light. Her hair was styled in Thaesi's signature bun, at Emma's own request, and her face was covered in light makeup. She looked like a queen of fairy, or celestial goddess, whichever was the prettiest.
Emma, ??who had never dolled up, was already much prettier than the seven princesses who performed last night on their pegasuses, combined together. That was why Therius did not even give them a second glance. They were not attractive in his eyes.
But this girl ... was the most beautiful woman in the world. And he felt very lucky because he could make Emma his wife even though he had to go through so much to make Emma his. He didn't even mind that he had to wait a year until Emma could love him wholeheartedly.
"You're ... so beautiful," Therius whispered in a hoarse voice. If only all these other people were not around, he would have landed a passionate kiss on those cute red lips.
Emma nodded and smiled faintly. "Thank you."
"The carriage is ready, Your Highness," Avato reported. He gave a signal for them to follow him. With calm steps, Therius led Emma into the garden in the center of his palace. There were two splendid carriages in the garden. They were oh so beautiful. Each of them was pulled by four pegasuses.
"I know how much you like this carriage," Therius whispered to Emma. "The wedding chapel we're going to is not far from here. We can get there on a carriage."
