280 Under Construction
"How about you? What do you think about all the facilities in the academy while you were studying there?" Emma asked Therius with a playful look.
She remembered Ulla's words, saying that the palace never bothered to improve the Academy's facilities because members of the royal family did not know what it was like to live in such a simple place.
Emma personally felt that everything was fine and she had never heard Therius complain anything about the school either. However, she felt it was better to ask Therius directly what he thought of the Academy's facilities as a former student there.
Therius took a sip of his wine and thought about it. "Everything was fine for me too. I was not short on anything."
"Were you getting special treatment as a prince?" asked Emma again.?Maybe Therius felt all was okay because he got privileged treatment.
"No. I lived like the other students," said Therius. "If I got special treatment, then what was the point of disguising myself as an ordinary person?"
"Hmm .. you're right." Emma looked at Therius lovingly. "I really like you because you are not arrogant and put importance on material things. Not everyone can be like that."
Emma was very happy that her husband shared the same view as her. Therius was a prince ... no, he was the king, and in all of this universe, Emma had never met anyone more powerful than him.
However, as long as she had known Therius, Emma had never seen him demand things. In this regard, Therius was really compatible with her.
Emma couldn't imagine spending her life with an arrogant man who cannot live without luxury.
"Hmm .. I'm glad to hear that," said Therius. He felt that Emma's attitude to him became sweeter than usual. He knew that Emma did not marry him out of love, and he did not expect her feelings for him to change so quickly.
But, somehow .. something inside him started to feel that slowly Emma had started to grow feelings for him. Wasn't it Emma who took the initiative to contact him tonight?
Ahh .. if that was true, Therius would be very happy. He also hoped that with them living a long-distance relationship, Emma would appreciate his presence more and miss him when they were apart.
"How many glasses of wine have you drank?" asked Emma suddenly. "You can't drink a lot. What if you get drunk?"
Ahh .. Emma worried about Therius again. Her words filled Therius' chest with warmth.
"This is just the second glass," Therius replied. "I need it to help me sleep. I miss you here so much ..."
"..."
Emma was dazed when she heard his words. Ahh .. apparently she was not the only one who felt lonely sleeping alone at night, after five months used to having someone sleeping beside her.
"I ..." She bit her lip. Actually, Emma wanted to tell Therius that she missed him too. That's why she contacted the man first. However, no words left her lips.
She was not used to being the person who said the words of love. Ahh .. maybe all this time, she was too spoiled by Therius. It almost felt like the love between them was one-sided.
Therius loved her very much, and he always showed it. While Emma was always the one who received his outpouring of love.
"Is there anything you want to tell me?" Therius asked when he saw Emma's lips opened but no words came out. He stared at the pair of tiny red lips, anxious to hear Emma say that she missed and loved him...
Emma shook her head. "I just wanted to say I am happy to see you."
"Hmm ... I'm very happy to see you too," said Therius with a smile. "I hope you will enjoy your life as a student there. This is only the first day. You will experience a lot more while you are at the Academy."
"I hope so," said Emma.
Therius realized that Emma still couldn't tell him that she loved him. So he decided not to wait anymore. The man walked over to Emma and looked at her in the eye.
He could not stroke her hair nor kissed her, so Therius knelt and looked at Emma's face. The girl was sitting on the edge of his bed, looking at him intently.
"I'll come to Innstad next weekend and spend the whole weekend with you. Then, on the next school day, I'll come to the Academy and take care of the telemancers who bother you," he said softly. "You'd better sleep and rest now. It's late."
"How about you?" asked Emma.
"I still have a lot of work to do," Therius replied. "I left the palace for two days, and now I have to deal with some documents."
"Don't work too hard. You are the king, right? The king should just have fun and leave everything to his subordinates. If you have to work hard and tire yourself, what is the point of being the king?" asked Emma with a pout.
Therius laughed at his wife's words.
"Unfortunately, I cannot take things easy just yet," she said. "My reign is still new. I still have a lot to establish so that things can go my way. In a few years, when everyone gets used to my leadership, I can leave the capital for a long time."
Therius added. "I will delegate control and authority to my ministers and trusted people. When that time comes, I want to take you on a trip. We can explore Akkadia. Or maybe, we can go back to Daneria or explore another planet. What do you think?"
Emma nodded happily. Indeed that was what she wanted. Emma imagined that in three years after she graduated from the Academy, she would be able to explore the world with Therius.
She could also train and use her powers, also put to practice all the things she learned while in the Academy.
Oh, by the way... Therius also mentioned children.
In three years, Emma believed she would be ready to have a child with her husband .... Maybe after they finished exploring, they could try for a baby.
The thought of starting a family with this man made her cheeks flush.
"I'd like that." That was all Emma could say. She liked Therius' plans.
"I'm glad to hear that," said Therius, smiling. He then got up and waved at Emma. "You should rest now, Honey. Good night."
"Don't stay up too long to work," said Emma again. "Good night."
She then disconnected the call. After Therius disappeared, Emma decided to go to sleep.
However, it wasn't too easy for her to close her eyes and hope that sleep would soon come. She was in a new place, and her body hadn't adjusted to her surroundings.
After lying down for half an hour and still not feeling sleepy, Emma finally woke up and decided to take a walk outside for some fresh air. There was no curfew at the Academy, so she felt free to walk out.
It was quite cold outside. To warm her body, Emma surrounded herself with warm air. It was just a little, enough to warm her body but not attract attention if she bumped into other people.
There was no one outside the dormitory building. It seemed that everyone was in their rooms, ready to rest. Emma walked down a path that looked reddish under the Akkadian Red moonlight.
She had not had time to study the layout of the Academy, so she did not know where it led. Out of curiosity, Emma decided to walk it and find out.
She didn't realize she had been walking for half an hour when Emma saw that the path only led into the woods.
"Oh .. so, this is the way to the forest," she muttered. Emma looked up to the night sky and realized it was almost midnight. She decided that she should go back to the dormitory and rest because there was no point in continuing the journey.
"Hey! What are you doing in the forest at night?"
Suddenly someone called from behind Emma. His voice sounded annoyed.
The girl immediately turned around and found Marlowe, who was walking lightly, holding a huge animal the size of a mastiff dog. The man made the animal look like it was a tiny bunny from the way he carried it so lightly.
"Mr. Marlowe," Emma nodded at him with respect. "I was just curious to know where this road leads, so I traced it. Now that I know this road leads to the woods, I'll head back."
