Finding Stardust

85 Emmas Decision

Emma explained to Haoran what she had heard from AWA. The young man listened carefully. He now understood what happened in the past. His mind immediately filled with awe.

He was very fond of astronomy and never expected that he would one day witness the existence of life on another planet in this vast universe. And not only that planet had even far more advanced civilization than the earth, but they also had magic!

From Emma's story, he could imagine Akkadia as a very advanced planet and some of the people even had magical powers. It was just like one of those sci-fi and fantasy movies made in Hollywood!

"Emma, ??if your parents' capsule is still on the Moon, that means they left without using it. Try asking AWA if the capsule can still be used? Can we go to Akkadia using the capsule?" Haoran asked eagerly.

Emma repeated Haoran's question to AWA. However, she had to swallow her disappointment when AWA responded by saying that their capsule was too damaged and needed major repairs to resume operations.

"Is there another way for us to reach Akkadia?" Emma asked her.

"The capsule is equipped with an unmanned mini ship. It is a means of sending news for emergencies. If you want to send a word to Akkadia, you could send the mini ship. They will receive your message and send help," AWA answered.

Emma was stunned by AWA's explanation. The only way she could reach Akkadia was actually to send a request for help so they would come and pick her up. But ... didn't that mean that her parents' efforts to hide her were in vain?

Ugh ... if only technology on earth was advanced enough and they could use a spaceship from earth to go to Akkadia...

At the moment, humans still needed 8 months of travel to reach Mars with their existing technology. How could they possibly get to Akkadia, which is 6 light-months away from here?

Emma suddenly felt her chest filled with sadness. Finally, she found her parents' tracks, but at the same time, she also felt like she was meeting dead end. How could she search for them to Akkadia without revealing her existence?

"We have no choice, Emma ..." Haoran said. "Even if we could use the capsule... there is no way we can go to Akkadia without them knowing we are coming. This is something you must decide. Do you want to find your parents there ... or do you want to follow their wishes and hide on earth. You know that your parents went to great lengths to do everything they could to hide you from the Akkadian crown prince..."

Emma understood what Haoran meant. At first, she really wanted to find her parents, that she would even go to the end of the world for them. But after she arrived at their moon base and met AWA, Emma realized that her struggle to find her father and mother was far more difficult than she had imagined.

Suddenly, the mental fatigue she had been experiencing for a dozen years finally overwhelmed her. Emma buried her face in her hands and burst into tears.

"I don't know what to do... We have come this far. But this far isn't even close..." She sobbed.

Haoran was touched when he saw Emma broke down and cry. For one year that he knew her, he had never seen Emma this sad and desperate.

"Emma ..." Haoran, who understood how she felt, immediately hugged Emma and let her cry in his chest. "We will find your parents ... if that's what you want."

Emma really wanted to meet her parents ... but her parents wanted her to hide from the Akkadian people.

What should she do?

"I'm so tired ... I think I need to lie down for a bit..." Emma said after her tears were almost dry. She broke free from Haoran's embrace and wiped her face from tears. "Do you want to see the bedroom for us to rest?"

Haoran nodded. "Sure."

He stood up and carried their two suitcases, ready to follow Emma. Emma got up and walked to the left. There were two doors there. The first door led to a large bedroom, designed for a couple. It was very comfortable with a double bed and beautiful furnishings. When she opened the second door, they saw that there was a cute room designed for a little girl with a single bed and bright colored furnishings.

"Do you want to sleep in my parents' room or in my room?" Emma asked Haoran.

"Your room is really cute... I will sleep there," Haoran said. He deliberately chose the kid's room because he thought Emma wanted to spend time alone in her parents' room. He pushed his suitcase into the second room. "Do you want to go to sleep right away, or do you want to eat dinner later? Didn't you say there was a robot preparing food for us?"

Emma pondered. She didn't want to eat because she had no appetite at all, but she realized that they hadn't eaten anything since lunch in Switzerland, so Haoran might be hungry.

"I will rest for an hour and return to the living room for dinner," the girl finally answered.

"All right. Take your time," Haoran said. He then pushed Emma's suitcase into her parents' room and pulled her hand to the bed. "Go have some rest. I'll wait for you in the living room in an hour."

"Thank you, Haoran." Emma nodded gratefully.

After Haoran left her room, Emma closed the door and sat on the edge of the bed. She surveyed her surroundings and then closed her eyes. She could almost feel her parents' presence in this room.

She really missed them. It's been 15 years that she had not met her parents. The longing that filled her chest felt so suffocating.

"AWA ... do you have any recordings when father, mother, and I were here?" Emma asked suddenly.

"Yes, Princess. Do you want to see them?" asked AWA.

"I do... please play them. I really miss seeing my father and mother ..." Emma said softly.

"I will play a recording randomly. For the details, you can see the recording log on the central computer," AWA said.

"Thank you, AWA," Emma said, nodding.

She sat by the bed and watched AWA choose a recording for her. Apparently, she chose one of the most recent ones, because Emma could see herself not long before her parents left her in Paris.

Kaoshin was chasing little Emma, who was floating in the air while laughing gleefully.

"Come on, Father! Catch me!!" said the little girl.

"If I catch you, will I get a reward?" Kaoshin asked with a smile.

"You will be rewarded with a kiss .." Emma said with a laugh.

"Alright ..." Kaoshin smiled broadly and waved his right hand. Suddenly from his palm, he shot an ivy plant that sprang up quickly and wrapped around Emma's body. Then, he pulled the little girl from the air into his lap. "You owe me one kiss."

Emma chuckled and kissed her father's cheek. "You won."

When the father and daughter duo were laughing and chatting, Arreya was seen walking toward them. Her face was beaming with happiness.

"General Stardust ..." called the beautiful woman in a hoarse voice.

Kaoshin, who was still kissing Emma's cheek, lifted his face and noticed his wife's excitement.

"What is it, Princess Arreya?"

Arreya said nothing, only looked at her husband with an emotional look. Instantly, Kaoshin became emotional too. He almost forgot to breathe as he put little Emma slowly on a chair and then rose to hug his wife.

"Is it true?" he asked in a whisper.

Arreya nodded, and her eyes were filled with tears, even though her lips smiled broadly.

"I'm very happy to hear that ..." Kaoshin closed the distance between them by hugging Arreya's waist and kissed her lips intimately. Arreya wrapped her hands around his neck and respond to his kiss with all her heart..

Little Emma stared at them wide-eyed.

"Oh, God ... I have to find them!" Emma suddenly stopped the recording and ran out of her room.

"What is wrong?" asked Haoran, who was sitting outside and saw Emma rush out of the room.

"AWA ... I want to go to the capsule. I have to send word to Akkadia and ask them to come and get me!" Emma's voice was urgent.

"Are you sure?" Haoran asked. "If you sent word and they come to pick you up ... then they will find out who you are."

"I don't care ..." Emma said in a firm voice. "I have to find my parents and sibling. If they want to catch me and kill me ... I will face them. I have six types of power, surely that means something. I don't want to give up... I'd rather die trying...."

"Sibling?" Haoran did not understand what Emma meant.

"My mother was pregnant when they left me ... Haoran ... I not only have parents, but also a brother or sister." Emma shook Haoran's shoulder emotionally. "I don't care, no matter what happens, I have to find them."
