The Strongest Beast Tamer

51 Cornered

The Rocs came down quickly and Lachlan jumped up, getting caught by his Rocs. He flew over to the boat quickly. As he got closer he noticed the soldiers that were desperately trying to survive, shooting at the tentacles, some even throwing grenades at it.

'You three ready?' Lachlan knew his Rocs had been fighting the whole time, he was also beginning to feel the strain in his mind. He knew they needed to finish this quickly.

'Always have been' Catastrophe said.

The other two nodded and flew up higher, reaching the lower clouds.

'Start!' Lachlan commanded. The Rocs began to start, making noises and moving around, gathering the clouds. It was much faster than other times when there were no clouds, which the environment might be able to affect special abilities.

Once they Rocs were finished thick blue lightning came striking the water's surface. Attacking everything in it, badly damaging the octopus that had its tentacles wrapped around the boat. The shocked caused it to pass out.

Because Lachlan couldn't see its whole body he wasn't able to analyse it, and couldn't know if it was still alive or not. But he felt confident that after the lightning storm finished not much would still be breathing.

The cames came over shocked by the sight. They knew Lachlan would have something up his sleeve but none of them could have predicted this. Looking down they noticed aquatic beast corpses floating on top completely roasted.

Lachlan was also slightly stunned from the sight but didn't care all that much. The only thing he was disappointed in was the fact that his Rocs couldn't gain any levels from it. This would have been a great place to level up.

Once the lightning finished Lachlan and his beasts were exhausted, his head was spinning and it felt as though there was someone scratching their nails on a blackboard next to his ear. He needed to get back to the boat and summon his Rocs back.

'Get to the boat quickly' Lachlan struggled to think. The Rocs were immediately worried and shot towards the boat, leaving the flabberghasted group behind them in the dust. However, the group did manage to catch a glimpse of Lachlan's condition and quickly followed.

The soldiers on the boat saw the Rocs flying towards them and made space. Lachlan hopped off and summoned his Rocs back and the pain in his head stopped getting worse. There was still a lot of pain but it was slowly reducing.

The rest of the group quickly followed up.

"Lachlan you alright?" Phoebe worriedly asked, panic was in her voice.

"Yeah I just need to take a break," Lachlan calmly replied, straining the pain from reaching his voice. He then walked towards control room where he was greeted with a joyful shout. He was grabbed and thrown up by the soldiers in the control room. Relief and joy were plastered across their face. Their deaths would have been certain if Lachlan hadn't shown up in time.

"You did well boy," James said as he nodded towards Lachlan, he then faced the group, "We couldn't have made it out safely without the help of all of you."

"It was no big deal," Simon said as he flexed his muscles. The tiny biceps that they were.

"What's that?" A soldier said. They turned around and noticed the ship was slightly shaking. It wasn't noticeable but the intensity kept increasing.

*Bang*

The bottom of the ship was hit by a massive force, everyone standing lost their balance and fell on their asses. Simon got up and was fuming, "What the hell was that about?' He ran towards the window and his expression changed drastically.

The rest of the group followed and their expressions did the same, they were shocked and concerned. They thought they had managed to escape but those two were just apart of the first main wave.

The ship had been lifted slightly out of the water. It was as if the ground had risen from the seafloor, creating a path from the port straight towards the boat. Looking towards the port is what shocked them the most.

This time there were three intelligent beasts, one of which had its hands on the ground, the risen ground started from it. It was a mix between a scorpion and a woman. It looked as though a scorpion body was placed on top of a woman body, fusing to create a scorpion shelled woman. The scorpion shell being black and the woman is lightly tanned.

By its sides were also one rather unique mix. One of them looked slightly similar to Adam(J) back in Mount Barker, in that its body looked as though a woman fused with a spider. The top half of the body was a pale naked woman while the bottom half was a spider, its carapace was dark purple with bits of black.

Then on the other side was something that made Lachlan the most confused he's ever been. It looked like a normal woman, one that was white and clothed in ancient greek clothes, looking rather elegant.

Lachlan began to realise something as these names triggered some knowledge left deep in his brain that he didn't care about. For a project, he had the choice of researching Roman or Greek gods. He had chosen greek gods and remembered that Athena was one of them.

She was the goddess of wisdom, brought about a great deal of inventions which advanced humanity leaps and bounds. However, her craftsmen ship was challenged by Arachne who was a normal human woman at the time.

She had beat Athena in sowing, bringing her own destruction when Athena cursed Arachne into becoming a spider. So she could sow her entire life. Which must be why Arachne has a hatred for Athena.

Seeing as how they've been classed as diety fragments, it must mean that the other intelligent beasts are created based on gods. Which also meant he would have to study every god ever created so he would be prepared.

But right now that didn't matter. What did was that they had to fight them now.

Lachlan focused back onto the path and realised how bad it really was. Now that there was a direct path from them to the boat, they could swarm them easily. Fortunately, he has a few ideas in mind to fix this situation.

He snuck up and pulled Phoebe and Chloe to the side, "Listen, you're going to need your tames to use their special ability if we want to get out of here."

"What do you mean special abilities?" Chloe asked confused.

"The lightning I used before is a special ability, it can only be used a certain number of times a day and it greatly exhausts the beasts that use it. And don't worry, your tames should already know what to do instinctively," Lachlan quickly and quietly informed them.

"Okay," Chloe and Phoebe both nodded. They were trusting that what Lachlan told them wasn't a lie. Which would be difficult considering that even they saw the lightning that was used. It wasn't like anything they've ever seen.

"So why us?" Chloe asked. The other should probably have similar abilities, they could be of use as well.

"Where are we?" Lachlan asked disappointed, he thought they would have been able to connect the dots immediately.

"The ocean," Her eyes opened in realisation, "We're going to drown them."

Although Lachlan was certain, the turtles and crocodiles are certain to have water type special abilities. He also noticed before that the clouds already being there not only made the lightning slightly stronger, it also made the ritual quicker.

Since they were in the ocean, or right now they were next to the water. Their abilities should be greatly strengthened.
