The Strongest Beast Tamer

66 Planning and Unwanted Attention

After waiting for an hour, Chloe's husband walked through the door and jumped back by the sight of so many people. He also quickly realised a few of these people were unique like his daughter.

"Hello there Mr Wart, the names Lachlan I'm a friend of your wife," Lachlan introduced himself with a friendly smile.

"Oh, hello there, my names Flynn and forget about the formalities. I'm not interrupting anything am I?" He asked. He was curious as to why so many children were in his house, he could understand Lachlan since he's heard of him through his wife. But the children weren't apart of the information.

As he introduced himself Lachlan quickly analysed him and was slightly surprised by what he saw.

He looks like your average businessman, the friendly type that plans your entire future. Short black hair combed back, dark brown eyes and tanned skin. He was 6'3 and really towered over Lachlan who was 5'2.

Lachlan's never seen a plant beast. Unless it meant Flynn could literally tame any plant. 'But that would mean he should have already taken up all his soul contracts' Lachlan knew it had to be intelligent plants. Plants that were similar to beasts, in that they hunt to feed themselves and possibly mate.

However, Lachlan also realised how difficult it would be for Flynn to tame a plant beast. Especially considering that within all the time Lachlan spent travelling across Australia he hasn't seen a plant beast once.

There were a few things Lachlan could think of immediately. They were Ents and Treants, with the possibility that maybe Dryads can be counted as well considering they are the tree spirits. Whatever the case, there aren't a lot of plant beasts.

"No, rather we were waiting for you to arrive," Lachlan said calmly as he gestured Flynn to sit down.

"Oh, hope I didn't make you wait too long, so what can I do for you?" Flynn asked. He looked over to the hybrids, his first thought was that Lachlan was planning on taking Sophie away. But then he remembered that Lachlan waited for him.

Lachlan began explaining his thoughts. Talking about how he wants to protect the children that have been abandoned by their parents or have lost their parents. In other words, start an orphanage but for every child no matter how unique their appearance is.

Flynn was excited by the idea, but had a few questions, "Where will it be stationed?"

"On the island," Lachlan said. Even Chloe was shocked by the information since Lachlan waited for all of them to be present.

"You talking about the island with increased gravity?" Flynn wanted to confirm his thoughts. He had heard quite a bit about the island, how it's the perfect place to train not to mention the safe environment and unique water.

"Yes I am indeed," Lachlan joyfully replied.

"But the children won't be able to handle it, most people won't be able to handle it," Chloe immediately argued back. Although there were qualities to the island that made it a great spot. What was the point if none of the normal people could actually stay there.

"The gravity stones," Lachlan immediately answered Chloe's concerns. Flynn was still left in the dark since Chloe hadn't mentioned the stones to him yet.

"What's this gravity stone he's talking about?" Flynn asked. He wanted to learn what could instantly answer his wife's concerns. He could only think that this gravity stone belonged to the island since the island had unique gravity of its own.

Lachlan pulled out a gravity stone from his bag, it was a low ranked one that provided the 2 times gravity, "Did you know this little stone here can give people the power over a certain level of gravity?" Lachlan almost sounded like a con artist, as though he was trying to sell the most mysterious and mystical thing in the world.

"This little thing," Flynn stared close but aside from the purple crystals sticking out he couldn't understand how it could control gravity.

"Pick it up," Lachlan already knew it would be difficult to believe it without proving it. Especially considering how sceptical Flynn seems.

Flynn immediately picked it up and weighed it in his hands. Nothing felt off about it, he even tossed it in the air a couple of times. Lachlan looked at the stone, 'Increase gravity two times.'

As Flyy had thrown it in the air he didn't expect it to come down so fast. He was unprepared and slammed his hand against the coffee table. Fortunately, the stone could only go up to 2 times. If Lachlan decided to use a medium ranked stone and increased the gravity 20 times Flynn's hand would likely be crushed.

"What the hell is this," Flynn could still pick up the stone but he noticed the difference in weight. His eyes widened in shock and he turned towards his wife who just nervously scratched her head a gave a giggle.

"That is a gravity stone, a low ranked one at that," Lachlan calmly explained, "The higher the rank the more powerful the gravity it can give off and nullify."

"So how powerful is this low ranked gravity stone?" Flynn got incredibly intrigued by how unique these stones were. Since gravity was a concept humanity has yet to take control of, similar to space and time it was untouchable.

"Low ranked gravity stones can give off 2 times gravity and nullify that amount as well," The way gravity stones worked was rather simple. Of course, Lachlan couldn't actually explain why they give the user control over gravity.

"So the higher the rank, the more intense the gravity it gives off and nullifies?" Flynn pretty much understood instantly. His voice sounded excited as he thought about all the things he could do with these stones.

"Essentially," Lachlan felt glad that Flynn was so excited about the stones.

"But how are we going to distribute them?" Chloe was more concerned about how they would use them. While Flynn seemed to focus more on the nullify part, Chloe was more worried about someone getting hold of it and using its intensify abilities.

Since the stone could be control from a distance and the targeted area can be changed around. If someone gets hold of the stones they could easily kill plenty of people if they place them inside buildings and increase the gravity.

If it was a high ranked stone the gravity would collapse buildings easily, not to mention the fact it would crush everyone into the ground that will be around it at the time. It was something they shouldn't give away recklessly.

"I'm planning on doing it in a way that it'll be similar to a hierarchy or secret organisations that have clearance levels. The higher clearance level and authority, the further one can go in the island," Lachlan explained.

"So the basic level will obviously be low ranked, but what about medium and high?" Chloe asked.

"Medium will be given to members will quite a bit of authority. Considering the difference between a low ranked stone and medium ranked stone is so much, the amount of trust needed for us to give someone one will be high," Lachlan answered quickly before he continued, "As for high ranked stones, they will only be given to the leaders and the strong."

"So why is medium going to be so high?" Chloe didn't understand Lachlan's thoughts about the medium ranked stone. Sure it would get someone further into the island but there wasn't much to see.

"Because that cave will be where we'll place our farms," Lachlan thought about it quite a bit. Sure they could have farms in Australia since the gravity on the island will be too much for normal plants. But he was enlightened when he remembered the cave, how the gravity was normal and how everything was flourishing.

Considering the amount of space in the cave there will be plenty of land to turn into farms.

"Oh," Chloe immediately realised what Lachlan was talking about and it made complete sense. She felt slightly silly for not understanding it sooner, "But who will be the farmers?"

They were going to need people to farm, which will mean those people won't gain much strength as their entire focus will be on the plants. They can't have their food supply die on them, that'll cause some issues.

"You should know how some people want to stay safe and for things to return to how they used to be?" Lachlan asked to which Chloe and Flynn nodded. Flynn especially knew of people that wanted things to go back, they mainly didn't want the fear of those beasts to constantly loom over their heads.

"Well, considering the strength to get into the caves is fairly high, and how the gravity in the main part is normal. Don't you think it's perfect for people who want to escape to live, and they don't have to worry about beasts since we'll be there protecting the island," Lachlan explained and thought his idea was pretty solid, he thought long and hard about it.

Chloe thought about it and realised he wasn't wrong. People would love to live there, everything would be simple. They wouldn't have to constantly fear death, and the cave they were actually in had everything they needed to survive.

"What about the unique fruits?" Chloe suddenly remembered that's also where the unique fruits grow.

"Well, I've been thinking that aside from the poison fruit which will be kept in another area. We should try to expand the other fruits, considering they have a lot of uses to us, especially the blood banana," That's what the group decided to call the vitality banana and Lachlan didn't argue against it.

"What are these fruits you're talking about?" Flynn perked in when he heard about unique fruits. Just the gravity stone was enough to get him to agree to go to the island. Let alone these apparent unique fruits there as well.

Lachlan pulled out a strength berry and threw it over, who knows, maybe if he eats it he might get the plus 20 strength points.

"What's this?" Flynn said as he stared closer and gave it a sniff. He then licked it which made him more confused since it seemed like a normal fruit.

"That's a berry that increases someone's strength, obvious it has its limits. The effect happens once and the increase is entirely random," The differentiate most of the fruits. Most of them felt a slight increase in their strength when eating it so they knew it increases strength.

The only ones that were a little bit difficult to test were the intelligence berry, perception berry, and willpower berry. Since there was no possible way to measure the effects correctly and Lachlan still didn't completely trust them at the time.

Of course, once everyone got together he decided he would tell them the big secret. He would only tell the ones that were on the island and their close ones, anyone else would still require a bit of trust building.

"This little thing increase strength, alrighty then," Flynn immediately threw it into his mouth without hesitation. Since the gravity stone worked he saw no reason to think Lachlan was lying to him.

Flynn felt his body get overwhelmed by a burning sensation, similar to when one works out for a long time. He felt his body get fatigued, rejuvenated, then fatigued again. By the time it finished, he was a sweating mess.

Lachlan analysed him to see the results.

Lachlan since he's heard of him through his wife. But the children weren't apart of the information.

As he introduced himself Lachlan quickly analysed him and was slightly surprised by what he saw.

Flynn was the luckiest man alive. Although not really, since it was a 1/20 chance of getting it.

Flynn, on the other hand, felt his strength shoot through the roof. but when he looked at his muscles it dawned upon him that they didn't grow. Lachlan knew that the berry compresses the strength and already existing muscles so he wasn't too surprised.

"Anyway we're currently getting off topic, we can discuss more about it once everyone's together," Lachlan shook his hand in front of him and then turned towards Flynn, "So, do you want to join us?"

"You already had me at the gravity stones," Flynn excitedly said.

"Do you know if there are any more unique children?" Lachlan asked.

"Well, from what I've seen, whenever authorities get information about the children they go in and capture them, after that they trap them in cages and send them out in the wild," Flynn explained, his fist clenched with veins popping out of his skin.

"Do you know where they let them out?" Lachlan asked he was slightly annoyed at how the authorities handled the situation.

"I know where they leave the city and seeing as how the surrounding area is almost all high to death danger zones, it's likely they barely went out the city, maybe only went 1kilometre away," Flynn stated.

"True, we should be able to track them down with the help of Jayden's tamed beasts," Lachlan said as he pointed towards Jayden, "When was the last group of children sent out?" Lachlan asked.

"I believe it was 2 days ago," Flynn said.

"Alright, they probably haven't gone far or separated from each other," Lachlan said. Humans could last a little while without food and water, so it was likely the children were still alive. Hopefully, no beasts have got to them.

"Right, if we go now we'll have the best chances of finding them since tomorrow is going to have bad weather," Flynn explained.

"Sweet, everyone ready to go?" Lachlan asked.

The children all replied with a yes, they were excited to make more friends. Chloe had already joined, and she was strong, she didn't want her husband dying out in the wild.

"Let's go then, be quick we don't want anyone to notice us," Lachlan said.

They walked through the door and got onto the elevator, luckily it was empty. Seeing how high class these apartments are, not many people would be able to afford them.

"That reminds me, what is the currency now?" Lachlan asked. Although James had told them about a lot of events he never told them about the currency. Since all the nations combined there was bound to be a new currency.

"Oh yeah, you were isolated from the world for two years. So, the world has completely united and created a world currency, which is just dollars and cents. The average rent is $50 a week, this apartment complex is $130 due to its location being in the centre, so it's protected from all angles," Flynn then went on to explain how the world is currently working.

Schools have almost stopped entirely, they are now only teaching sciences and maths, with some schools teaching Design & Technology or STEM. The rest of the day is spent doing combat training, which has now become a compulsory subject.

The only way to get out of it is to partake in research, being an assistant and for the older and more smarter kids, being a researcher. The main topic researched is the beast bodies, finding their weak points, seeing which part of the meat is edible and if anybody parts could be used as a weapon.

Turns out that a majority of beast meat is delicious, only poisonous insect meat is disgusting. Which Lachlan already assumed, as the fish they caught on the island was always delicious.

Then the group made their way through the lobby but unfortunately gained some attention from the receptionist, a different one than before. Lachlan quickly realised the children weren't wearing their cloaks.

"Ah! There's a group of intelligent beasts here!" The receptionist screamed at the top of her lungs. People in the lobby and just out the door started running and panicking. Phones were brought out and numbers were dialled.

"Alright, now we run," Lachlan said.

He shot out the door, smashing through the glass and summoned Aaron, he got everyone on quickly. The authorities just arrived, armed and pointing towards the children.

Lachlan jumped up, "Fly!" he shouted.

Temp shot up, the wind from its wings pushed everyone in the area to the ground.

The military that was there picked up a communicator, giving a warning to the base.

..

At the base, after James heard the description of the people and called off the attack. Saying that it won't end well for them. He knew those children were rather close to Lachlan, and the military really couldn't handle to consequences of pissing off that group.
