86 Intense Battle 2/2
Back on the hills was Disaster; He was hovering above the temple that housed Serqet. Serqet, on the other hand, didn't come out yet, it was almost as though she was ignoring everything that was happening outside.
That's when Disaster heard a few loud clanks, as though something metallic was smashing against something. Serqet walked out of the shadows, in her hand was a giant battle axe, one that had bloodstains on it. She was staring at Disaster, slightly hesitating.
Unlike the other two, she didn't have any abilities at setting traps or tricking opponents. The only thing she had was her strength, but right now, that strength was being heavily tested. As she felt it deep into her core that she couldn't win against Disaster with strength alone. Which is why she brought out the battle axe, something she found in someone's house, it had been placed on a rack and surrounded by glass.
And although she wasn't completely certain of the axe's capabilities it should give her a slight edge. That was what she was hoping for anyway, the only way to tell was to fight.
She got prepared, bending her legs slightly with the axe resting on her right shoulder, her scorpion tail was coiled up, ready to attack. Her gaze never left Disaster, she was waiting for him to strike first.
Disaster, on the other hand, was being cautious. This was the first time he's ever fought without his brothers, not to mention this was his first even life or death battle; and against an opponent that was wielding a weapon at that.
But seeing as how she wasn't moving he knew he should attack first. He didn't mind though, it was time to really test his speed. Can he hit her before she hits him, or will he get smashed into the ground by the axe, that'll all be decided in a moments notice.
He flew up a bit, around 100 metres and hovered there staring at Serqet. He was looking for an opening, he was also hoping that him retreating back a bit would make Serqet let down her guard. Unfortunately, she did not.
Her gaze continued to follow him through the sky as he hovered around. Her tail and right arm never relaxed, they were both ready to counterattack at the slightest movement.
Disaster couldn't wait anymore and got ready, he angled his body downwards and closed his wings. HIs heavy body fell down quickly, and the moment he was about to hit the ground he opened his wings up and flapped as hard as he could. Changing his direction of flight all while keeping his momentum.
Serqet readied herself and swung her axe downwards with her full strength. Making use of his agility and lightning speed Disaster turned his body, narrowly dodging the axe. The axe smashed into the ground, its force caused the ground to crack apart and go downwards as it looked as though spiderwebs spread across it.
Serqet managed to narrowly dodge Disaster's attack with that sudden downward movement. But while she was under him her tail struck out, Disaster managed to avoid it hitting his body but it managed to pierce through his wing.
Due to the hook-like shape of the stinger, it hooked onto his left wing. With Serqet's axe stuck well into the ground and her own strength, she brought Disaster to an abrupt stop. He felt as though his wing was about to be ripped off.
Serqet swiftly swung her body around, bring her tail along with her and Disaster at the end of it. She quickly smashed him against one the pillars, it almost broke it apart. Disaster felt a strong electric pulse go through his body, it sent his brain into shock.
He then felt his left wing get a strong tug, his body was brought along with it. Serqet had pulled her axe out of the ground, but it looked as though he feet had been encased by the ground, keeping her in place and stable.
Holding onto the axe with both hands she brought Disaster closer with her tail and swung sideways towards him. Disaster quickly snapped out of shock and flapped as hard as he could, leveraging him just enough to dodge the axe. He felt it slide across his chest, its cold blade cut off a few of his feathers.
Disaster then twisted his body and grabbed hold on Serqet's tail with his talons. Using his full strength he crushed the tail completely before he quickly ripped it in in two. There was still a bit of the tail dangling from the hook attached to his wing but that didn't matter, as long as he couldn't be tugged around anymore.
Serqet screamed in pain as she felt her tail get ripped apart. She had already readied herself and swung the axe backwards, in an attempt to stop Disaster's attempt. But by the time her attack reached he was already done and had moved away with her tail still in his wing.
She quickly smashed her axe into the ground and let go, she gently rested her hands on the ground and stared at Disaster. A grin formed on her face when she noticed Disaster was looking at her confusingly.
'What's she doing?' Disaster couldn't comprehend the reason as to why Serqet would let go of her weapon so easily. Not to mention putting her hands on the ground, it looked as though she was admitting defeat.
He suddenly felt something coming from underneath him and flew upwards as fast as he could. Looking down he noticed a large spike made of compressed dirt, should he have been any slower he would have got himself pierced and possibly killed.
He suddenly felt it again and could slightly hear the air splitting underneath him. He swiftly flew up further, narrowly dodging another spike. Looking around he noticed a few spikes coming towards him.
He quickly flew up further, dodging them again but more spikes came for him. By the time the spikes couldn't reach him he was already 2 kilometres in the air, there was nothing he could do to attack Serqet from this distance.
Unlike Aaron who could use his control over the elements to attack from a distance, he didn't have anything aside from his physical abilities. And while he didn't have a semi-awakened lighting control it wasn't nearly enough to actually injure his opponent.
He could only wait for Serqet's barrage of spikes to disappear. Unfortunately, Serqet was waiting on the ground for him to attack. Her hands never stopped touching it, while her gaze never left Disaster's body.
She suddenly grinned again and the sound of the air splitting could he heard beneath him again. This time he dodged to the side, narrowly dodging another spike that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
Looking down he noticed it had come from one of the previous spikes. He suddenly heard it again and dodged to the side. This time the spike came out of the one he just previously dodged, it was much thinner and weaker compared to the other one.
It quickly got an idea. Twisting his body he smashed his beak into the original spike. When it made contact it felt as though it had been hollowed out, which is exactly what he thought would happen. It was similar to the extendable umbrellas, they could extend could they stored more of the pole within themselves, which is exactly what this attack was based off.
When he smashed apart the spike the end was that's connected to the ground lost control. Its form had disappeared and it turned into a lump of dirt that fell down. Disaster realised that that was how Serqet was controlling the earth, she had to be in contact with it.
Now that he knew her weakness he needed to get closer to her. That was when the difficulty increased, she was surrounded by spikes that could attack him. Now he knew the spikes could also change direction and surprise attack him. What he was about to do was rather dangerous, but it was the only way to win without the help of others.
He quickly shot downwards, his wings closed. He quickly entered the dangerous territory, where he was surrounded on all sides by spikes. Serqet quickly shot off little offshoot spikes but Disaster smashed through them.
Although a few of them were stronger then he expected he quickly snapped out of the shock and continued. He then changed the angle at which his body was falling, it was now head straight towards Serqet.
He now had to either smash through or dodge the much stronger and thicker spikes. Serqet panicked when she realised what Disaster was planning. It was almost a suicide attack, but if he succeeded in killing her first he would survive.
She quickly began to build a thick wall between them. Disaster slightly opened his left wing and bit onto the tail, he yanked hard and ripped it out of his wing. Holding onto the end of it he swung his head towards Serqet, the hook narrowly made it over the wall and jabbed into Serqet's hand.
She quickly let go of the ground and reached for the axe. But before she could reach she felt her arm get tugged with an unstoppable force from above. She was brought into the air, she didn't have any of her weapons and couldn't use her earth control at its full force either. The only thing she could do was protect her vitals.
She swiftly curled up into a ball, the scorpion shell protecting her. Disaster didn't mind and began its attack. While holding onto the tail he began swinging it around, smashing Serqet into the spikes she created.
Although they were no longer as sturdy due to losing Serqet's control they were still thick enough and durable enough to give Serqet a good shake.
Disaster continued to fly up while smashed Serqet through the spikes. When he finally reached a height of 4 kilometres he let go of the tail. He then reached down with his talons and grabbed onto the scorpion shell.
While crushing it with his strength he began their descent. He closed his wings slightly as they fell, he kept Serqet facing the ground.
Serqet was heavily panicking, but she couldn't do anything. She couldn't even stretch her body with Disaster crushing the shell. The only thing she could do was brace for impact, unfortunately, the impact would be something far beyond her capabilities.
Just before they reached the ground Disaster let go and flapped as hard as he could. Although he was the one that initiated the attack, even he couldn't survive the fall. Fortunately, unlike Serqet, he had the ability to fly.
Looking down he watched Serqet smashed into the ground. Her body became meat past as the blood splattered across the surrounding spikes. There was no way of coming back from that, she was dead, completely dead.
Disaster flew on down and landed of Serqet's corpse. He poked around a bit to make sure she really was dead. When he confirmed it himself he held his head up high and spread his wings with pride. He screeched in victory.
...
In the city, Lachlan had watched the entire ending and nodded his head in approval. He was proud that Disaster won.
