The kings power

35 Games

Snow was walking around the market with an objective.

Nate was irritating her with his games and she decided she's going to join this little game of his, and beat him at his own damn game. That was yesterday and today she is going to show him what's what.

Snow had already picked up her dress and the servant that came with her took it back to the palace.

As Snow walks around, her mind wanders toward the discussion she had with Nate, he told her he wasn't the one who followed her, but who else could it be, then again, it defnitaly was a total coincidence that she ran into him in the alley, so that wasn't at all suspicious, Snow thought sarcasticly.

She touched the charm around her neck, she always keeps it tucked under her clothes so that no one can see it, and it has become a habit of always touching the stone when Snow is in thought. Ignis did explain it to her how it works, and that one can only feel the other ones pain, if the necklace is being worn by one of them. Snow only takes it off when she is out stopping crime, because things can get real messy if Noctis feels the same pain and asks questions about it later.

"It's becoming a habit of seeing each other," a familiar voice said behind Snow which made her smile, just the devil I want, Snow thought.

When she turned around, she saw a smirking Nate stand behind her, "just don't get use to it, Nate."

When Snow said that, he laughed, "don't count on it, Frosty."

Snow's eyebrows shot up, "Frosty? What kind of name is that?" "Well, you're not one for jokes, you seem a bit cold and I heard you go by the name Snow, so I think it suits you," Nate said.

Snow only rolled her eyes and wondered if this guy ever stopped smirking.

At that moment someone spoke behind Snow, making her smile, "is everything alright here, Snow?" Noctis asked, giving her, her ice cream.

She knew Nate would be here, and she also did say she had an objective.

Noctis also asked her if she wanted to spend the day together just relaxing, so Snow had put together a plan, and it looks like it's working.

Nate's smirk is gone, finally, and his eyes is narrowed while looking at Noctis.

"Yes, everything is fine, Noctis, I was just catching up with Nate, he is a good friend of mine, which I haven't spoken to in a long time," Snow said, still smiling her victory smile.

Nate's smile quickly returned, "yes, I have missed her company, one can not stay away from a beautiful girl like herself."

Snow's victory smile faltered immediately as he said those words, and it turned into an icy glare, which was directed at Nate.

Nate didn't seem bothered at all, and he only smiled like he didn't just cross the line. Snow wasn't going to lose to this blockhead, so she quickly had to form a counter attack.

"Thank you Nate, but I think your pick up lines are a bit outdated, you should really get up to date with what the say today," Snow said with a smile, Nate didn't have anything to say, and he probably could have said something, so Snow wondered why he didn't.

"We should probably get going, otherwise we won't get to do the things that we wanted to do," Noctis said, breaking up the silence.

"Yes, of course, Nate it was nice to see you again, and we'll probably see more of each other," Snow said, giving Nate a hug, "just remember, two can play a game," Snow whispered in Nate's ear.

When she leaned back, Nate smirked at her, and said, "I'm looking forward to it."

Noctis not hearing what Snow had told Nate, thought that he was revering to what Snow said just before she hugged him, but Snow knew different.

She only smiled and nodded once before they walked away. Once they were out of ear shot, Noctis said, "I don't like him."

Snow laughed, "you don't like him? Or you don't trust him?" she asked with a smile, "both," Noctis answered, "or is it that you're just jealous?"

"Me? Jealous, of what, of him? Ha! It looked like he just rolled out of bed, and not alone might I add," Noctis answered shaking his head.

He was not wrong, Nate's hair did look messed up, and his clothes had wrinkles in them, so he might have a point.

They continued to walk around untill the sun almost set before they headed back to get ready for the ball.

Snow was glad she could show Nate that he can't charm everyone, and that she's not going to fall for his dirty little tricks. Maybe he'll finally leave her alone, but she highly doubt that, he's the kind that doesn't give up on what he wants, but unfortunately for him, this is the one time he won't get what he wants.
