Life Of The Vampire Girl

114 Chapter 113

A few hours passed as Erin watched over Vaeri. The woman was struggling in her dreams. Sweat oozed out from her forehead.

"No, no...Elion!"

Vaeri stood up, shrieking. Her breath was uneven. She put a hand on her forehead and took a few deep breaths to calm herself. Finally, she looked around and yelped. Erin was looking at her, grinning.

"Hoo, am I that scary?" She joked, looking curiously at the woman.

"No, princess! I am sorry, I just didn't expect there to be someone next to me." Vaeri bowed, her eyes cast downwards. She couldn't disrespect the princess.

"It seems like you know me. Are you from the castle?" Erin asked, her interest obvious. She wanted to know more about her new follower.

"Yes, I am a spy from the castle," Vaeri answered, still holding her gaze down.

"A spy, huh?" Erin tilted her head, thinking about it. She could feel that the woman was telling the truth from the link between them. And the fact that the werewolves were trying to kill her at all cost meant that she could have some important information.

"So, how did you end up being chased around the forest?" She probed, curious about the answer.

"I was spying on the werewolves and there were strange movements in the past month. The elders gathered all the werewolves in the village, so I was sure there would be something big happening. After some waiting, I felt the earth trembling and people coming closer to the village." Vaeri gulped, still terrified from the aura she felt back then.

"Then, I saw him." She paused, opening and closing her mouth a few times. "Roth, the chief of the bear tribe." She shuddered while she said his name.

"Who's that?" Erin looked at Vaeri, confused. Was he someone famous? Did she have to know him?

Vaeri's eyes widened. The princess didn't know about him? She was amazed. That was common knowledge for most people. All the Demon Lords were known to them. She wasn't sure if the princess was joking with her now. Suddenly, Vaeri remembered. The princess lost her memories! There were rumors in the castle about that. When the Lord found her, she couldn't remember anything. Afterward, she was sheltered and the Lord personally trained her. It was no wonder that Erin didn't know about the other Demon Lords.

"Um, he is a Demon Lord, known as Roth The Destroyer," Vaeri explained. "He came to the village and detected all of us there. The pressure I felt at that time was unimaginable. I was sure of my death, but he let us off and only used his power to uncover us. Only the werewolves started chasing us. We had to run for our lives. While I was wandering in the forest and trying to reach the castle, they were always able to find my location. If it wasn't for you, princess, I would be dead already."

Vaeri bowed once again to Erin. She was grateful for the help she received.

"No need to bow to me. And stop calling me princess." Erin waved her hand. She was still uncomfortable when someone referred to her as a princess. Though, most of the people still addressed her as such.

"Yes, mistress." Vaeri corrected herself. Erin felt shivers through her spine. What did she call her? "M-Mistress?" She blushed. It sounded like she was already married. Richard's face coming in her mind. Why would the woman call her that?

"Yes?" Vaeri tilted her head. Was it wrong to call her like that? After all, she was now Erin's blood slave. It was only natural for her to address her respectfully.

"Not mistress, just call me Erin!" Erin almost shrieked back in her panic, but she managed not to. Her heartbeat increased as her imagination grew.

"T-That is not possible! I can't disrespect the princess like that!" Vaeri waved her hands, denying. How could she be so bold to address her by name?

"Alright, just call me master then." Erin sighed, giving up correcting the woman. "What is your name?" She asked.

"My name is Vaeri, master." Vaeri bowed. If the princess wanted to be called master, so be it.

"Alright, Vaeri. Can you not be so formal with me? After all, we are a family now." Erin looked at her with pleading eyes. Those bows and gestures were something she couldn't accept.

Vaeri widened her eyes. Family? How could the princess say that to her slave? She was just about to refuse when she met Erin's eyes and wavered. After thinking it over, she nodded. That only brought a bright smile from Ein. Vaeri lost herself in trance looking at her.

"Hey, while you were asleep, you mentioned Elion, who's that?" Erin asked.

Vaeri felt a pain running through her chest. Her eyes teared up for a moment, but she restrained herself. "That was another spy sent to the village. He was... killed." She answered, trying to suppress her feelings.

"I-I'm sorry!" Erin could feel Vaeri's sadness. She tried to think of something to change the topic.

"A-Are you hungry?" Was what came from her mouth. She wanted to slap herself. Why would she ask this in such a situation? She looked at Vaeri, only to see her weakly smiling at her. Erin covered her face with her hands, embarrassed from her attempt.

"Yes, I am hungry," Vaeri answered, finding the princess funny. Although she had some feelings for Elion and he was a childhood friend for her, she could still bear it. After all, she lost a lot of people in her profession as a spy.

"I collected some blood from the bodies. You can have it." Erin passed a flask to her. Vaeri looked at it and hesitated. This would be her first time drinking blood. She sniffed the blood from the flask and her mouth watered. Truthfully, it had a sweet scent. She brought the flask to her mouth and took a sip. The taste was unique but good. She didn't hesitate any more and drank it all in one go.

"Um, I found you some clothes too, though not really what you will expect." Erin reached for the leather clothes that had a few holes in them, but they still were fitting for Vaeri and covered the important parts.

Vaeri looked at the clothes and down to herself. She sighed and took the clothes. Her attire was nothing more than rags that didn't cover much of her body. She changed it with no hesitation.

"Princess, we need to move. There might be more enemies in the surroundings." Vaeri advised. They had taken too much time sitting there already. If they didn't start to move soon, there might be another fight.

"Let them come!" Erin growled, thinking about the werewolves. She didn't like them at all. Especially, after the war that she experienced. Her aura extended out of her body and pressed down on the surroundings.

Vaeri gulped, a bit nervous. The bloodlust from the princess was too strong. "Um, master, if you don't mind, can we go back to the castle? I want to report what I found." She asked. Erin was her new master, so she couldn't go against her decisions.

Erin calmed down and pondered. She got used to her new powers already. Now she could use the shadows like an extension of her body. It felt like magic. She wondered if that wasn't magic in the end.

"Alright, guess it's time to go back. There is a long way until we reach it." She was sure that the castle was at least two weeks away from there.

"Let me be in front, master." Vaeri slightly bowed and started heading for the castle.

Erin sighed from behind her back. That woman was still formal to her. She shook her head and started following after her. Only time could change someone's habits. So she would wait until Vaeri got used to being around her.
