Power To Let Go

15 Chapter 15:

Does she like fish?

I stared at the counter of seafood, unsure if my mate liked fish or not. It was easy to grab other meats since she was a wolf and I stereotyped her to what wolves normal ate. But fish...?

I don't know any wolf that likes fish.

"Would you like anything, kid?" A large man asks me from behind the counter making me jump a little. How did such a big man move so quietly?

"Oh. Um... I'm looking for some raw meat for my dog. Is there any fish that is good for them?" I question as the man grinned at me before laughing.

Did I say something funny?

"Did you just call your mate a dog, boy?" The large man says when I blushed and shook my head quickly.

"No no no! I was jus-"

"Don't worry lad. I won't tell the girl." The man says with a wink before reaching in the counter to grab some salmon. "It'll be a moment. Everyone in the pack loves some good salmon." He tells me while slicing a piece of the salmon for me.

"Thank you..." I leaned over the counter and noticed his name was Chad. "Chad. I don't know much about my mate. We just connected so I am still getting to know her." I admit to him as he chuckled and nodded with me.

"I get you. My mate and I were a bunch of the crazies. She refused to speak with me until a rogue was trying to kill her." Chad's words sent shivers down my spine and I couldn't help but think that Nava and I were much the same way.

Maybe everyone had rough times with their mate...

"I'm sorry for that to happen to you, Chad." I sympathized as Chad waved it away and packaged the fish.

"That happened many years ago. We're now old and smelly, or so says our children and grandchildren." Chad laughed wholeheartedly and handed the package to me with a grin.

I hope to be like Chad and his mate one day.

"Thanks again, Chad. But I've got a girl waiting for me at home." I said with anticipation to tell Nava about Chad and his generosity. With one last wave to Chad, I quickly rolled the cart down towards the dairy.

There's was much to learn about my mate.

I shifted the bags in my left hand, unlocking the apartment door as someone else exited the door next to me. The old man glanced over at me in confusion when I smiled and nodded to him.

Without starting a conversation with the old man, I entered into the home quietly and placed the groceries on the table. I could hear Nava still sleeping in the bedroom down the hall, her snores loud and I knew that this was perfect blackmail for later.

Of course, I loved her snores, but I had to record it.

Thomas would find this hilarious.

Silently, I walked down the hallway and peeked in to see her sprawled on the bed with the blankets thrown around the room. A smile stretched onto my face as I went in and picked up the blankets.

"Mhm. You're back." Nava hums when I wrapped her in the blankets again and pressed my lips to her head.

"Shh. Sleep so more." I hush her and petted her hair away from her in a calming way. "Somnum." She quickly fell victim to my magic, letting it overtake her as she fell asleep once again. The bags underneath still dark and not even her creamy brown skin could cover that she was tired.

Without waking her again, I stood up from her side and left the room quietly. I brushed down the hallway and back into the kitchen with the groceries.

She would be pissed when she found out I used my magic on her repeatedly, but it was for her own good. Her body was still not healed from when she was with the assassins and even though she wouldn't admit it.

Her wolf was still working to heal them both.

She knew better than to be working herself hard every day. If she wouldn't slow down, I'd force her too.

Which meant she was going to sleep until my magic doesn't compel her too.

It's already been a day and a half. I wonder how much longer her body will take the rest.

Breaking away from my thoughts, I grabbed the bag full of vegetables and placed them inside the fridge that looked ancient. I knew that she'd be heartbroken if I updated this damned fridge, so I have to put up with this for now.

Until we speak about what to do.

But her old pack were friendly once they knew what the situation was between Nava and I. I knew Thomas didn't like me so much at first but that was because his brother was Nava's, late mate.

I sighed, placing the rest of the groceries where they belonged when leaning against the counter and rubbing my tired eyes.

It's funny how I look after Nava and can't even look after myself.

I haven't had a good night of sleep ever since I met Nava and every day I've been dragging more and more. High Priestess Dawn has noticed this and has made me get more and more sleep, but I never feel satisfied or fully awake.

Was this the mate bond pushing me to take Nava?

Was she feeling this way as well?

Was this why she was so exhausted all the time but refused to rest?

I thought about this when resting my head in my palm, closing my eyes and thinking about Nava and our future.

? Joanna ?

Ha!

Finally!

I sat up from the bed, feeling the sheets around me while I grinned at the past with Barack and his wolf, Gabek. The memories of them and the children will always be cherished, but there is someone out there waiting for us.

And if Nava won't make the first move, then I will.

I slipped off the bed and quietly walked over to the door, peeking out of it and seeing Levi leaning against the counter in the kitchen. I couldn't help a laugh leave me as I snuck out of the room and tiptoed down the hallway.

Nava wasn't one to mess with our mate, she was the serious and rational one at times.

Me on the other hand...

I acted on instinct and did what I felt was best for us.

If I needed to kill someone, I will kill them without hesitation.

If I wanted to tell our mate our fears, I will tell him everything.

Maybe that was why she always kept me in...

Eh, fuck it.

Our mate placed Nava in deep sleep. Deep enough to let me break through and take control.

Thank fuck.

I crept around and noticed his eyes were shut as he calmly rested there making me realize he was asleep... standing up.

Strange one isn't he?

"Levi," I whisper, standing in front of him and watching if he responded but nothing happened. "Psst. Levi." I whispered again, this time poking his cheek making him jump and nearly fall down. A frown stretched over my face as his blue eyes looked at me tiredly.

"What are you doing up? You're supposed to be sleeping." Levi murmurs, running a hand up my arm when I narrowed my eyes at him.

"You are more tired than Nava. You should be asleep." I growl at him and pulled him away from the counter.

"You must be her wolf then." He said letting me pull him back to the bedroom and push him on the bed.

"Of course, darling. We've met a few times but always in the worst circumstances." I comment, kneeling down and pulling his shoes off.

"I've only met you once other than this time." Levi thought back and leaned on the bed.

"No. I've been around more than twice. I come out every time Nava loses control. Normally I am killing something but I was able to get past her this time." I wink at him when reaching for his belt and unclasping it.

"Why are you here now?" His voice sounded raspy making me smirk up at him and slip the belt away from his jeans.

"You sedated Nava to let me in control," I inform him, leaning over his body and unzipping his heavy jacket. "I don't think you'll mind me visiting for a little bit." I purred, prying the jacket from him and tossing it away with his forgotten belt.

"I don't know if you should be doing this." He said quickly, softly pushing me back as I messed with the hem of his shirt. I tilted my head at him, giving him a large smile.

"Why not? Nava won't mind, darling. Promise." I gave his covered chest a soft kiss causing him to shudder and grab both of my hands tightly. Discomfort running through his eyes making me grow tense.

"I... I don't feel comfortable doing this with you... here." He admits to me as I blinked back my shock before it turned to softness.

He didn't want to do anything in my old home with my last mate.

Oh jeez. Aren't I the hornball?

"Then let's go," I said, patting his chest when he looked at me confused.

"Go where?" He questions, fully awake now as I sat beside him with an excited expression.

"Wherever! You have magic, don't you?! Take us somewhere exotic so we can play a little bit." I growl seductively, running one of my fingers down his chest making him shudder again.

"I thought you hated magic?" He notes when I scoffed and brushed my hair over my shoulder.

"Of course not! Unlike Nava, I love magic. It's always been a mystery to me and it's amazing to me to witness." I said excitedly and leaned over to press my lips on his neck. "Nava liked it at one point as well, but now she doesn't. Though Nava isn't here, so come on! Let's go to a beach or something!" I shout at him making him laugh and nod in agreement.

"Alright." He says with a growing grin while grabbing my arm. "Litore." One moment we were on the bed the next we were in the sand. I beamed at him, loving that he took my suggestion when pushing him down in the sand.

"God. I love you fucking witches." I growl as he rubbed my back softly. A soft breeze going between us.

"What did you have in mind, my little minx?" Levi teases making me smile and hold the hem of his shirt.

"The name is Joanna, but I like the nickname darling. I think I want to show you some things that only a woman can." I taunt back when Levi grabbed my hands that were messing with the button of his pants.

"I think I want to make sure Nava is okay with this before we do anything." He told me seriously as I smiled at him fondly.

"Alright. Then let me please you, mate. You've done so much for me, it's time to repay you." I purr, unbuttoning his jeans when he stared at me in pure shock.

"I've never-"

"I'll take it slow. Promise." I seductively said, leaning down to press a feather like kiss on his stomach above where his loose jeans hung. A groan came through him as I felt myself growing more excited.

I'm curious about how much I can make this virgin weep with pure ecstasy.

Good thing I have all night.
