Chapter 177 - Still Afraid
Viona blinked her eyes when she felt the glare of the sun seeping through the ventilation of her bedroom window. She squirmed for a moment then stretched out her hand towards the table to pick up her smartphone.
"Six past 30 minutes."
Viona's eyes successfully widened, she immediately got out of bed and daggers to the bathroom.
"I have to take a shower, at least when he comes I'm not too bad and we'll just eat at the cafe," Viona muttered as she stripped off her clothes, then turned on the shower.
Ting... ....
Hearing the bell ring, Mia immediately opened the main door and saw who the guests were.
"Is Viona there?" asked France. Yes, the guest was Frans who came early.
"Um.., Mrs. Viona is still sleeping," answered Mia.
Frans nodded in understanding, then turned to the side. "I'll just wait here until she wakes up," he said.
"Yes, Doc. Let me wake her up," Mia replied.
Frans immediately sat in an antique chair on the terrace not far from the door. While relaxing, he reached into his pants pocket to take out his smartphone, then called Viona.
until several times contacted, Viona also did nothing fact he had been waiting for almost 30 minutes.
"Frans."
Frans turned and looked at the person who called him. "Viona." a smile grew on her lips when she saw that it was her new lover who looked fresh wearing a black knee-length skirt combined with a white blouse with a slightly brownish color and let her straight hair flow beautifully.
"Sorry, Frans. I woke up late and I haven't cooked. Let's just eat at the cafe," said Viona with an uncomfortable expression.
Frans smiled faintly, then responded, "it's okay, we can cook together."
Viona looked at her white watch. "But you'll be late. It's already seven o'clock and you'll be leaving at eight Thurs. We don't have much time while cooking."
"I left at 10 because the flight was delayed," said Frans with a smile and raised his eyebrows. "We can still be together for a while. And I want to taste your cooking," he continued.
"Gosh, you should have said..at least I'm not in a hurry." Fiona pursed her lips, glancing at the annoying Frans again.
"Sorry, Viona. I was in a hurry to come here," said Frans pleadingly.
Viona exhaled sharply, then turned back into the house. "Okay. Let's go to the kitchen."historical
Frans immediately followed Viona into the kitchen. He slowly walked while glancing around which seemed deserted and there was only one housekeeper.
Arriving in the kitchen, Frans immediately approached Viona who was mixing spices. "What do you want to cook?" he asked.
"What's good? I'm also confused." Viona doesn't have a particular appetite this morning, especially since she just woke up. It feels like she's still lazy to decide on the menu because usually, she will have breakfast at nine when she's not working in her father's office.
"Just fried rice, I haven't eaten it in a long time," said Frans as he opened Viona's refrigerator. He found flavorful prawns in the freezer section. "Given this shrimp, it looks delicious. Can you cook it?" he asked.
"Yes, I've learned by video on youtube," replied Viona.
"Okay, let me peel the spices and you clean the shrimp," said Frans as he approached Viona and took over peeling the onions.
Viona immediately cleaned the shrimp, occasionally she glanced at Frans who slowly shed tears. "What is wrong with you?" She asked with an amused smile.
"I feel spicy in my eyes," Frans replied while rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand.
"You'd better wait at the dining table, Frans, I can finish this by myself," Viona exclaimed, she couldn't bear to see Frans crying because being hit by red onions which are identical will make the eyes feel spicy.
"I'm tired of waiting there, I'd better help you because I'm hungry," Frans replied with reddened eyes.
Viona smiled in exasperation and was unable to stop Frans, who she felt comfortable with at this time. "Well then, the important thing is not to touch your eyes before washing your hands. Or it will get hotter."
"OK."
___
After 30 minutes of struggling with rice and shrimp and other spices, finally, Viona and Frans were able to finish the dish. Now, it's time for Viona to pour the love shrimp fried rice into the plate.
"The smells good, the prawns are very ready to eat," said Frans from behind Viona.
"I'm not sure about the taste. If it doesn't taste good, we can eat at the cafe."
Frans slowly put his arm around Viona's shoulder until it was wrapped around her neck and rested his chin on her shoulder. "For me, it will be good, because I will have breakfast with you, my future wife," he said sweetly.
Viona felt nervous and her heart seemed to be beating fast. "Ah.. yes, Frans. We'd better get to the table now."
Frans glanced around the quiet surroundings, then released his embrace on Viona and made her change position facing her. "I want this breakfast now," he said as he touched his lover's pink lips.
"It's too early to make out, Frans. Mia could see us," Viona whispered, bowing shyly.
"Looks like she's cleaning outside." Frans glanced at the door, then focused back on Viona. "Sweet."
"Are you really in love or just lust, Frans?" Viona asked with a probing look. Because she is still traumatized by Edward's affectionate attitude just because he is passionate.
Frans sighed, then distanced himself from Viona. "Well, let's have breakfast now," he said as he took two plates that already contained the fried shrimp veins he had made with Viona.
"You are mad?" Viona asked, raising her eyebrows. For some reason, she felt bad if Frans got angry just because she refused.
"No," Frans replied as he walked the two plates to the dining table.
"Frans. I didn't mean...."
"I'm not angry, Viona. Indeed, I should have controlled myself more. We even just started," said Frans as he sat on the chair. "We'd better have breakfast, if it's too cold, it's not good," he continued with a smile.
Viona glanced at Frans, who was not angry and was even sweeter. She sat with her eyes fixed on him. "Don't be grumpy, I don't like that," she said.
"No,...I was just realizing what I shouldn't have done. I'm too addicted to your sweet lips and of course, that shouldn't be. Because we are still not tied to any status." Frans explained while sipping fried rice, then matched it to Viona.
"I can eat by myself, Frans," said Viona.
"Then don't think that I'm angry," Frans exclaimed.
"I didn't mean to reject you, Frans. It's just.. I'm afraid that you only like me out of physical and desire, not from the heart." Viona lowered her head, cursing herself for still being afraid of having a man like Edward.
Frans looked sadly at Viona who instead looked sad. "I know, Viona. It must be all because of the shadow of your past."
Frans stroked Viona's hair. "But I won't be like your ex-husband. You know my profession as a doctor who takes care of everything about my mother. I understand very well the struggle of a woman, so I would not have the heart to hurt a woman."
Viona regained her composure and looked at Frans intensely. "Really?"
Frank nodded, "Believe me. I will cherish you as I cherish my mother, love you, love you. And everything for you. I saw how sad you were a few weeks ago and I won't let that happen again."
"Hope you're not flirting." Viona blushed at the sweet words of Frans.
"No. I'm sincere. All this time I've been so focused on work that I forgot to find a soul mate. And only you caught my attention and awakened my desire for a serious relationship. I also realized that I'm not young anymore." Again, Frans looks giddy.
"How old are you?" Viona asked.
"28, you?" Frans asked again.
"24," said Viona.
"Well, our age gap is perfect." Frank is getting more and more confident.
"I have no idea." Viona shrugged her shoulders, staring at her fried rice which was a bit cold. "We should eat now, you say if it's cold, it's not good."
"It's still good to be with you," whispered Frans, making Viona blush. She felt the beauty of the morning that she had never felt when she was with Edward.
