Dominating Evolution of the Cosmos

280 Nickerson

Edward could not help but turn his head. He had spent five years at the military base camp, and Steve was the most promising soldier he had ever seen.

"How do you feel about the 22nd level?" Edward asked jokingly.

"You already know that I did not get through the 22nd level," Steve said.

Starting from level 22, the effect of improving cell activation would disappear. So, Steve's real basic cell value was only at 370 points.

"Hahaha! Well, why do you think we all stay stagnant on the 22nd level?" Edward gave a big laugh. Because things were different starting from the 22nd level, many soldiers could not progress further.

Steve was calm, even though he could not tell how strong Edward was. A conservative estimate would be that Edward's basic cell value was more than 460 points, that is, if he used the Blood-Burning Manic Change. As such, Steve was unsure whether he could defeat Edward.

"Now, you should take me to Vivien," Steve said.

"Don't be so anxious. I have something to talk to you about first," Edward smiled and said. "Please come with me."

Just then, Lucy, who was next to him, could not help but worry. "Honey..."

"Don't worry, I'll be fine." Steve consoled Lucy. "But, as Vivian has been gone for so long,. I do have to go check out her current situation."

Then, Steve left with Edward. Jenna and Audrey breathed sighs of relief as they watched Steve leave.

They had a bet with Lucy that if Steve could defeat Hayden, they would become Steve's women. But now, it seemed that Steve was not concerned about the bet.

This made them happy, but also a little disappointed. After all, Steve's potential and strength were beyond their expectations, so being Steve's women would benefit them.

...

Steve followed Edward, thinking that Edward would take him somewhere mysterious. Unexpectedly, Edward took him straight to Commander-in-Chief Nickerson's office.

Once there, Edward skillfully twisted the head of an eagle, and the wall split to reveal a passage. Then, Steve followed Edward into this secret corridor.

Below Nickerson's office was a huge, mysterious space. Soon, they came to the door of a secret room. The door opened only after Edward had passed through a fingerprint, retina, gene scanning test.

Inside the secret room was a huge conference room. Commander Nickerson was sitting in the middle of the conference room.

"Mr. Steve, you are here at last." As Nickerson greeted him, he laughed and his mustache moved.

Steve was unfamiliar with Nickerson, as he had only met him twice. Nevertheless, Nickerson and Wendy were the top leaders of the military base camp. Nickerson was in charge of strategic command, while Wendy was in charge of training the soldiers.

Because their ranks were so far from one another in status, Steve and Nickerson were never had much interaction. After seeing Nickerson, Steve frowned and asked him, "Where is Vivien?"

"Miss Vivien is safe," Edward answered.

"Well, I'm here just to see Vivien. So, I won't believe anything you say until I see her." Steve shook his head, then said firmly, "I want to see Vivien right now!"

Edward frowned and called out, "Miss Vivien..."

"We can assure you that Vivien is safe. If you want to see her, you have to answer a few questions first." Nickerson sat in a chair with his hands crossed.

Steve took a deep breath, then sat down next to him and said, "You can ask, but I'm not sure if I'll answer all your questions."

Steve finally understood why Vivien had disappeared for such a long time, but the military base camp did not disqualify her as a soldier or trace her disappearance. It turned out that all this was Nickerson's doing behind the scenes!

"How much do you know about Vivien's power?" Nickerson asked.

"What power?" Steve pretended to be unaware.

"Mr. Steve, you don't have to pretend anymore. If you are not aware of her power, you would not have had such a big reaction in the ring just now." Edward laughed.

Steve, somewhat helplessly, said, "Well, I know Vivien has a mysterious power, but I don't know what it is or where it comes from. Vivien only told me that this magical power seems to be attached to her. So, I'm also curious what kind of power it is."

Steve looked at them with a doubtful face. In fact, Steve knew exactly what Vivien's power was. It was the power of the rulers of the past!

But, Steve would not tell them what he knew until he was sure how much they actually knew. After all, divulging more than they knew would risk leaking the secret!

Edward and Nickerson glanced at each other, as they were both doubtful about Steve's answer. Nevertheless, Nickerson answered, "Since you are the one Vivien trusts, we will tell you about it. Vivien's strength is the power of God!"

Nickerson looked more serious than ever, and with a trace of awe, he said, "What I'm going to tell you next is an important secret that has been hidden in the world. I hope you don't leak it after you hear it."

He then added, "Also, this concerns Vivien's safety..."

Steve nodded and said, "Of course!"

"In this world, there is a special group of people, who are chosen by God. They are born with the power of God and are naturally blessed by God," Nickerson said.

"True God? Is it the legendary Ares?" Steve questioned him.

Nickerson shook his head. "Ares is just a realm name. The real God is real! They used to be rulers of the universe. They are inherently very powerful and control the rules of the universe. But, for some reason, they are now gone."

Steve soon realized that the true God that was being referred to by Nickerson was probably really the rulers of the past. However, because of the development of the years, the legend of the rulers of the past began to change when it was spread in modern times.

"What does this have to do with Vivien?" Steve asked.

"Because Vivien is chosen by God, she is destined to inherit the power of God and become a new generation of God. As such, her future is even stronger than the Ares!" Nickerson looked at Steve with wide eyes.

Judging from his eyes, Steve could see that Nickerson was telling him that, although he had great potential, his was still far from Vivien's, who was destined to surpass even the Ares in the future!
