81 Fundamental Knowledge Bonus for 200ps
After realizing Steve's situation, the civilian apprenticeship camp no longer had any hopes for him. They just hoped that Steve wouldn't embarrass them.
As everyone sat down at random, Steve did not get to choose where he sat.
But, soon after he sat down, a black-haired girl in a long white dress sat down beside him. The girl had no expression on her face and seemed not to care about anything that was happening.
"I warned you not to approach Catherine, did you not understand what I said?" Daniel's cold voice suddenly rang out from behind him.
Steve turned around, looked at him, and said, "You're nuts! She chose to sit here herself!"
"A mere civilian dares not insult the nobility!" Daniel was instantly furious.
"Daniel, the certification examination is about to start. Sit down." The force examiner rebuked him.
Daniel gave Steve a cold look, full of anger and coldness, then sat down behind Catherine. Throughout the whole process, Catherine did not even glance at them. It was as if she did not even realize that the two were arguing about her. Steve felt that an underserved catastrophe had fallen upon him.
"Ha ha ha, I heard that you did not take the foundation exam! Don't be one of the last again, or it'll be very amusing!" Daniel looked at Steve and laughed.
Steve looked back at him, deciding that he could not be bothered to pay attention to such people. After all, he was several decades older than Daniel, thus much more mature.
Daniel's behavior seemed childish to him. However, if he were to do nothing about his silly provocations, then Daniel would only think that he was an easy target and keep bullying him. This was similar to the bullying that existed on campus, where the victim did not know how to resist, so the bullying would just grow worse.
"You can rest assured that my grades will be higher than yours." Steve sneered.
"Ha ha ha, you think you can score higher than me?" Daniel sneered.
Some of the noble apprentices beside them stopped and laughed too, commenting flippantly.
"Ha-ha, did you hear that kid boasting that he would score higher on the fundamental knowledge test than Daniel?"
"Everyone knows that Daniel's fundamental knowledge test was only one mark short of the perfect marks, and this boy has not taken the exam before! So crazy that he dares to say such a thing!"
"Let's wait and see. We'll have a good laugh about this later."
After the first talent test, Steve had been treated as a joke. This was because he was seen as having a pitiful talent value, as well as possessing a very low success rate. So, many believed that he could never become a pharmacist. In addition, Steve was just a civilian, born with no status and prospects, so they figured that they could bully him as much as they wanted.
"Why don't we make a wager?" Steve looked at Daniel and laughed.
Daniel sneered. "How do you want to bet?"
"If I lose, I will never appear in front of Catherine again. If I win, you can't harass Catherine in the future," Steve said.
"Fellow, you really are interested in Catherine!" Daniel looked grim, then said, "Hmph! My status is different from yours, so why should I agree to this unfair bet?"
"Then, let's change the bet. If I win, everything you own shall belong to me." Steve laughed.
Daniel laughed and said, "Deal!"
He didn't care about money or things much, and besides, he didn't think that Steve could beat him. The corner of Steve's mouth turned up in a smile. Then, having successfully achieved his goal, he immediately drafted two electronic contracts of their wager agreement.
"Sign the contract, both copies, so that person who loses cannot go back on their word." Steve signed his name, then sent the electronic contract to Daniel.
Daniel signed the contract without thinking much, then laughed and said, "With this contract as proof, no one can go back on their word."
The 10-minute break ended right after both of them signed the contracts, meaning that the fundamental examination had officially begun. Even though the fundamental examination was important, it took up only a small portion of the entire certification process.
Whoosh!
The examination questions soon flashed across Steve's table, allowing the apprentices to answer them directly on the screens there.
How many known F-grade herbs exist, and how many categories are they split into..?
Upon seeing the first question, Steve's mind instantly flooded with all sorts of pharmaceutical knowledge that the Heart of the Universe had crammed into his brain. As such, Steve instantly knew the answer.
He picked up the electronic pen and answered every question at an amazing speed. Even if Steve did not know the answers to some of the questions, the Heart of the Universe gave him the correct answer instantly. This was Steve's secret trump card!
The Basic Knowledge Certification Examination had a total of 1,000 questions, covering all categories, including experimental reactions, fusion reactions, pharmaceutical effects, and so on. As such, it was naturally impossible for anyone to answer all of these questions correctly, as even the pharmacists had varying levels of adequacy in varied subjects and were unable to do so.
The five-hour knowledge certification test passed quickly...
"Time's up! We'll be collecting the tests now!" Alex's voice rang out.
All of the tests were then locked and they could no longer answer any more questions. The electronic test files were then automatically sent to the main computer. In an instant, discussions rang out among the apprentices.
"We're finally done, but those 1,000 questions were too difficult."
"How many questions did you complete?"
"I only finished 400 questions, many of which I did not know the correct answer to."
"Answering all of the questions is impossible. I only answered a little more than 500 questions."
Just when everyone was discussing the examination questions, while waiting for their results, someone asked Daniel, "How many questions have you answered, master Daniel?"
Daniel said, an arrogant expression on his face, "Unfortunately, I only answered a few more than 800 questions. If I had more time, I could've finished all of them."
All the apprentices were surprised, as answering more than 800 questions was an amazing feat!
"How many did you answer?" Glendon looked at Earl
"About 780 questions," Earl responded.
The noble apprentices smiled victoriously again, as without a doubt, their camp had once again surpassed the civilian camp!
"How many did you answer then, Mr. Linken?" Daniel asked Steve jokingly.
