When The Moon Calls

24 Undercurren

"Relax, they are safe. They were smart enough to avoid vampires until now, unlike some other werewolves." Said Spider, staring at Michael.

Michael sighed and sat down again.

"Good."

"Not really, they must stay low. Don't worry Hawk will help them."

"Can you help me with something?"

"What exactly?"

"Can you do something to let my brother join my class?"

"You don't have a brother." Spider turned his head to one of the monitors around him.

"If you have the information about me in front of you, you will see that I was adopted."

"Ah yes here it is, wow you have a brother? Doesn't matter what's his name?"

"Jonas."

"I need his full name."

"I don't know it, wait a minute I will send him a message."

Michael used his phone to send the message and Jonas answered a few seconds later.

"Jonas Millenio."

"Alright consider it done, he can go tomorrow to the school."

"Thank you Spider, how can I contact you?"

"My number is already saved on your contact list."

"What? How?"

Spider laughed, "Have you already forgotten? Professional hacker?"

".....Yeah right."

"Haha I will contact you if something comes up, see you then Alpha."

"Wait...he hang up on me."

Michael stared speechless at his phone. He turned off the lights and went to sleep.

------------------------------------------------------

An elderly man with a long white beard read a letter and frowned. He was sitting on a archaic armchair, changing the position of his legs. There were many old looking books around him and the place looked messy.

Two woman clad in robes stood silently beside him like statues.

The one to his right asked with concern. "Did something happen , Elder Pelion?"

The elder didn't show any reaction. The woman didn't mind, continuing to stay beside him.

His gaze moved away from the letter, letting it slip past his fingers. The letter caught fire while it was falling down, burning to ashes before it reached the floor.

"Susan Millenia send me a report, she wrote that that useless brat doesn't want to come back to our circle. He wants to study like a normal human....."

Both women nodded silently.

"They didn't find any clues about the origin that caused the magical disturbance. Something fishy seems to be going on there."

The old man lifted his hand that had big rings on each finger and a glass filled with wine floated into his grasp.

"I want the both of you to go to that town....Palmer Falls is its name. Watch them closely and immediately report to me if something isn't right."

"Understood." Said both woman at the same time.

They moved in sync and left the room without making any sounds.

The emotionless eyes of the Elder stared at the wine inside his glass, before taking a sip.

------------------------------------------------------

"What do you mean you can't find that b*tch?" Shouted a young man.

He kicked one of the two kneeling men that were scared sh*tless, sending him crashing against the wall.

The man tried to stand up, but fell back. Spilling blood all over the floor.

The youth with raven like black hair sneered, "Trash!"

"My dear little brother, who will serve us if you kill the Blood Servants every time you have a bad mood?."

Another black haired youth came down the stairs, looking at the dead servant on the floor.

He had a soft smile on his face, however the air around him seemed to turn cold.

"Shut the f*ck up Mauri, we can get new ones, there are enough lowly humans that wish to serve us."

Mauri sighed disappointed, "Gianluca, how often do I need to tell you to mind your manners? You are a disgrace to our Pazzini Family."

Veins started to pop out on Gianluca's face. He gnashed his teeth in anger, not even daring to talk back to Mauri.

Mauri only glanced shortly at his little brother.

He walked to the remaining kneeing Blood Servant, "Tell me, where did you lose her tracks?"

The Blood Servant was relieved, he feared that he would be the next target of Gianluca if Young Master Pazzini didn't appear.

"We tracked Elena Morner down to a town named Palmer Falls in Oregon. We haven't seen or heard anything from her or her servants. She practically vanished after entering that town, Young Master Pazzini." Answered the servant with utter respect.

Mauri fell into deep thoughts, "I see...."

"See my *ss, how dare you lowly peace of trash come back empty handed huh?"

Gianluca felt like vomiting blood every time he heard a servant call his older brother "Young Master Pazzini". They never showed such a respect to him. They only call him "Young Master Gianluca" if they felt like calling him, they most of the time skipped it entirely. Just thinking about it made him mad.

Gianluca continued raging and punched out, aiming at the servants head.

The servant panicked, he was too slow to dodge the punch. He closed his eyes, waiting for his death.

He waited for death to arrive but nothing happened. The servant opened his eyes carefully and saw Young Master Pazzini stepping on Young Master Gianluca's hand.

'Wow how did he do that?'

One could tell from Gianluca's twisted expression how much pain and shame he was feeling right now.

'Serves you right!'

Mauri's blood red eyes locked into Gianluca. The latter felt a cold aura wash over his body, it made him shiver hard.

He forgot all the pain and shame, starting to stutter, "Y...y...you....ww...what are you tttt.....trying do?"

Mauri stared down at Gianluca, tilting his head to the side. His smile grew thicker, "What are you talking about? You are my dear little brother. I'm only preventing you from committing another mistake."

Gianluca's eyes grew wide and he gnashed his teeth in anger again. He didn't believe one word that his older brother said.

The servant summoned his whole mental power to stop himself from laughing out loud.

Mauri lifted his foot from his little brothers hand. He turned around to the servant and asked, "What was the reason for Elena to visit that town?"

The servant bowed his head in respect, "We found out that her husband went missing and the last place he was seen was..."

"Palmer Falls." Ended Mauri the servant's sentence.

"Yes, Young Master Pazzini."

Mauri played with his black hair while thinking.

The servant lifted his head up, admiring the in his thoughts lost Mauri.

The servants admiring expression froze abruptly. His eyes widened in shock.

Young Master Pazzini showed an unnatural expression on his face that he had never seen before.

He dropped his head down quickly, feeling a cold shiver run through his whole body.

'Oh my god!'

"What a mess, I will need to take things into my own hands." Said Mauri softly.

Gianluca who stood behind him raised an eyebrow.

Mauri didn't turn around, continuing to talk.

"But this is a good chance to impress father and grandfather. It has been a while since I have contributed to the family."

Gianluca's lips twitched. He knew it was a trap.

"Wait, you don't need to go there personally. I will do it." Gianluca didn't wait for Mauri's answer and vanished from the spot.

"The trap was so obvious, Mauri." Echoed a female voice from upstairs.

"Of course, that's why he had no other choice but to take it hahaha. Whatever lurks inside that town, I hope it doesn't disappoint me."
