The crowd cheered when they both went down the arena.

The clan leaders and the crowd were also shocked, and discussing how rare for Zhu Xuan to have dual elemental roots. Even though it is not too rare, it is still something special. Strangely though, elders and clan leaders of Zhu clan didn't look surprised. The other four clan leaders wondered if the Zhu clan already knew about the dual elemental roots of Zhu Xuan.

Zhu clan elders didn't know about his dual elemental roots, but they weren't shocked like the rest. They were surprised for a moment and calmed down because they have expected such a possibility when he revealed his talents the day before in the selections.

The ones who were truly surprised are Zhu Jia Li and Zhu Meiying. Zhu Xuan has revealed he had three elemental roots before but wind element was not one of them. They started wondering "Zhu Xuan has four elemental roots or maybe he has five elemental roots."

Lin Xuan's fourth battle was another member from Juan clan who was at eleventh level with metal elemental roots. His attacks were sharp but Lin Xuan used his quick movements and fire Qi to attack from all directions and won his fourth match easily.

His fifth match was against Fang Liang, who was at twelfth level of body purification stage. He is a disciple who had dual elemental roots with fire and metal elemental roots and was expected to be the winner of the selections by everyone.

Zhu Xuan was not worried about Fang Liang; even though he has dual elemental roots, it is metal and fire elemental roots. He could dodge the opponent's attacks using his movement techniques easily, only issue is closing in on him since all Fang clan members are specialized in long range attacks.

Zhu Xuan was also not sure whether Fang Liang practiced any metal elemental defensive technique. He still remembers how hard of a fight he had with blood claw who had practiced metal element defensive technique changing his body stronger like iron.

Fang Liang was also observing Zhu Xuan at the same time. He received a letter from one of the lackeys of Zhu Lang yesterday. He already devised a plan to kill Zhu Xuan in the battle after reading the letter and what was promised by Zhu Lang.

Fang Liang took arrows from his quiver and started attacking Zhu Xuan. Zhu Xuan dodged and defended the arrow using his sword and got pushed back a little. Even though the attacks were not as fast as the one fired by Fang Ya Zi, they have more power and sharpness.

He also retaliated by using Fire Qi spear and fireballs, but Fang Liang easily defended them and attacked back. He tried using the same method as the last time but Fang Liang anticipated his attacks and moved farther away from his spear attacks.

Fang Liang removed another arrow from his quiver, which had a red tip and bluish shaft. Zhu Xuan and the others thought that this might have been made from a high grade metal than normal steel arrows.

Only the clan leader of Fang clan, Fang Wu Yao was shocked and stood up. The other clan members looked at him in confusion. He couldn't say anything and sat back slowly and cursed inside with confusion "Why is Fang Liang using Qi amassment arrow in the battle here? I gifted him three arrows for life saving measure not to use in the selections. Did he want to win that badly?"

At the arena, Fang Liang released the arrow and the attack was too fast for Zhu Xuan to dodge and the arrow was heading straight for his head. He was shocked but didn't have time to do anything and put his sword on the path of arrow.

The arrow attack was too powerful, equal to Qi gathering stage practitioner and shattered the sword easily and his whole body got pushed back by the force, flew back and fell down. The arrow drew a cut on the side of his face below his eye, thankfully due to defending of the sword and body pushed back due to the force of the impact, the arrow only graced at the side of his face and didn't cause major injury.

What Zhu Xuan and others didn't know was Qi amassment arrow was made by a special metal which can be used to store Qi of Qi gathering stage cultivator by using an array in the special metal.

Before Zhu Xuan could get back up, Fang Liang took another Qi amassment arrow from the quiver. All the clan leaders stood up in shock at the brazen act of Fang Liang trying to kill Zhu Xuan in public.

Zhu Jia Li and Zhu Meiying also stood up and started running towards the arena in shock. Fang Wu Yao also shouted in anger "Fang Liang, What are you doing? Stop it"

But Fang Liang ignored everything around him and fired his arrow straight to Zhu Xuan's face. Everyone was shocked and was about to take action, but they know they can't make it in time. However the next moment all of them stood there in shock not able to believe what is happening in front of them.

An earth barrier formed in front of Zhu Xuan in the shape of mountain. The arrow pierced through the earth barrier but was stopped by a fire shield formed by him few centimeters before Zhu Xuan's face.

Everyone stood there in shock unable to take in the fast changes happening in the arena. Zhu Xuan has three elemental roots which was even rare than dual elemental roots.

Before anyone could react from their shock, Zhu Xuan formed a Qi sword and dashed towards Fang Liang pushing his movement technique to its limit filled with killing intent.

Fang Liang also couldn't believe Zhu Xuan had another elemental root hidden, and that too an earth elemental root which was good for defense. Before he could calm himself down, he saw a furious Zhu Xuan rushing towards him.

He didn't have time to take another arrow from his quiver and formed an elemental Qi arrow and fired rapidly, but Zhu Xuan moved in zig-zag movement and Fang Liang couldn't lock on him. Zhu Xuan reached him in seconds and attacked with full power with his fire Qi sword. He blocked with his sword and fell back in the floor due to the force of the attack filled with full power of Zhu Xuan.

Fang Wu Yao came to himself and rushed to the arena shouting "Stop"

But Zhu Xuan didn't care and slashed towards his neck with the fire Qi sword formed from his other hand. Fang Liang felt death approaching him and moved back in panic and defended the attack using his other hand in haste.

The sword sliced though his hand above his elbow and burned the wound. Fang Liang hand fell off, and he rolled in ground and wailed in pain.

Zhu Xuan made another attack using his sword towards his neck but someone suddenly appeared between him and Fang Liang and stopped the Fire Qi sword with his bare hands.

It was Fang Wu Yao, clan leader of Fang clan who rushed and stopped his attack. He looked at Zhu Xuan who was emanating a terrible killing intent with his eyes bloodshot, and he felt an unknown fear. He wondered in shock "what a strong killing intent. How many people did he kill to release such a shocking killing intent?"

What he didn't know was Zhu Xuan fought and killed many beasts while training, and he single handedly eliminated a bandit group and an underground organization.

Fang Wu Yao calmed himself down and patiently said "Young master Zhu Xuan, please calm down. I know what he did was wrong and apologize for Fang Liang's actions, please give me some face."

Zhu Xuan looked at Fang Wu Yao for few moments, took a deep breath and retracted his killing intent and dissipated his fire Qi sword.
