Carriage of Immortality

5 Lacking In Every Manner 1

[Gua Gua!]

The goblin clapped its hand in happiness when it sees Mu Qing Lang coming down from the Carriage. As its mind is pretty simple, almost comparable to a 5 to 6 years old kid, the goblin started to get attached to him mentally as a food provider.

Their relationship at this moment can be said to be Boss-Employee cooperation. But what made it so happy early in the morning is not because food is brought out from the carriage, but due to the ten fully grown Xian-Ren Grass.

This is the first batch of Xian Ren Grass planted on his first day in this world. It should take one more hour to reach its readiness state, where the seeds from the inner stem will be releases to expand their communities.

While waiting for the Xian-Ren Grass to mature, Qing Lang prepared their breakfast, another round of cooked soybeans, and teaching the goblin on how to weave the straw together to make a braiding. The braiding can then be woven together to create something more sophisticated.

To a goblin, this kind of inheritance of knowledge can be said to be precious enough to bring his status higher in the goblin's community. If he was given just one more week to learn all these skills, becoming the village chief in his village is not an issue at all.

Such a mindset isn't outrageous at all, as the goblin community promotes contribution and growth. A goblin leader usually takes over the village chief position because they're smarter than the others. As for hobgoblins, they're likely to become guards and warriors under the village chief.

[POP!]

[POP! POP! POP!]

A row of gentle popping sound can be heard from the plot of planted Xian-Ren Grass. These popping sounds are the proof they matured and ready for harvesting. Filled by interest, the goblin mimicked Mu Qing Lang and collecting the seeds.

The new shallow basket they made from the straws is made for this moment. Altogether, 50 seeds are collected for their next batch of planting. As for the matured Xian-Ren Grass, they're gathered and placed separately on a flat woven straw mat.

They will be washed and dried slightly before Mu Qing Lang brings them into the Carriage of Immortality to be processed into Small Xian Pill. Additionally, he'll have to keep half of them aside in case he needed them to try to concoct the Xian-Yuan Pill.

Once the grass is set aside to dry, Mu Qing Lang and the goblin put in some effort in preparing the plot for the 50 seeds. After making some calculation on his day to day workload, Mu Qing Lang decided that he will plant the Xian-Ren Grass for three more 50 seeds batches before he moves to 500 seeds batch, twice a week.

As for the remaining five days in a week, two days will be allocated to plant the Prairie Herbal-Cress, and the seventh day to plant the Chang-Er Bronze Wheat and Mingwen Soybeans. These arrangements should be enough to keep him busy for a while until he's stocked and prepared to leave this place.

With a helping hand, the planting process for the 50 seeds went on without a hitch. Taking the opportunity to do something else before the Xian-Ren Grasses is dried and ready to be used, Mu Qing Lang had Xiao Hui move to the next open area, where the new batch of seeds is planted.

Secondly, he had the goblin to help him in arranging a barricade circling them and the short-grass area. As there's no tinder stone nor wood for him to start a fire, it is best for him to choose defensive measure over offensive to protect himself.

What he did not remember is with 4 strands of Spiritual Thread produces by the Carriage of Immortality, he can be said to be a quasi-qualified cultivator. The only thing he lacks here is information and guidance on what to do with them.

Half of the barricade made from stacking the straws together is arranged, leaving the path back to the first short-grass area and towards the pond bare open. As they required to return to the spot and harvest the two remaining batch of Xian-Ren Grass, Mu Qing Lang decides that they should complete the barricade on the pond side tomorrow, and finished it on the day after tomorrow, which is also the maturity day for the third batch of Xian-Ren Grass.

The tiring day of working on this small scale farm took a lot of their energy, especially for the little goblin. After having cooked soybeans as their dinner, the goblin collapsed right away on the stack of straws due to fatigue.

As for himself, Mu Qing Lang rolled the straw mat with the Xian-Ren Grass and took them along as he entered the Carriage. Seated on the chair, as usual, he waits for the option to pops up.

[*Xian-Ren Grass*]

"At last!" Qing Lang tapped on the surface that will bring him into the information page related to the plant.

"Alright! So this shelf here is the [Material Preparation Shelf] as mentioned. Let's try putting the Xian-Ren Grass and see how it goes." Mu Qing Lang walked to the glass shelf located just beside the Information Table.

With the ingredients in hand, he tried to access the processing function, but it wasn't working. He tried a few methods, but none of them work. Only after storing the Xian-Ren Grass inside the chest the Material Preparation Shelf seems to be activating.

"Oh! No wonder nothing works. You actually need me to put the stuff inside your belly first huh?" Mu Qing Lang jokes, but putting that aside, he went closer to the shelf and greeted with multiple options.

[New ingredient found]

[Type: Plant]

-

[Name: Xian-Ren Grass]

-

[Amount: 20]

-

[Please choose from the following option:]

[1] Extract the essence from 5 units to be made into a bottle of Recovery Ointment

[2] Process the essence from 10 units to be concocted into a Small Xian Pill

-

"Huh?" Mu Qing Lang's expression turned ugly. While he's confident with the way he handles the planting and waiting for the Xian-Ren Grass to grow, the cost of ten units for a Small Xian Pill traumatized him.

If he was to depend on the Carriage's produces alone, that's just enough to process two Small Xian Pills once in every two days. Thinking about this, Mu Qing Lang felt at ease that he did not go out and search for a human settlement before starting everything.

"I guess... I'll process two Recovery Ointments and one Small Xian Pill for now. I'll make more tomorrow." Mu Qing Lang tapped on the Recovery Ointment twice and the Small Xian Pill once. When the processing is done,

there is a soft vibration on the Storage Chest.

"Alright, come here. Let me see what's so amazing about you." Mu Qing Lang withdraws the Small Xian Pill and analyzes the data.

"Alright, I'll check... Hooo... What time is it now? It's pretty tiring for today. I must be overwork myself today because of arranging the barricades. Let's take a sleep first now as the Recovery Ointment can wait for tomorrow." Mu Qing Lang turned to his bed and collapsed on it right away.

That sleep went pretty well until the next fourth day morning.

The goblin did not wait outside his carriage today. Maybe he went to the 2nd batch of Xian-Ren Grass's plot and waiting for the plant to mature? But the maturity time should be about two hours later.

Mu Qing Lang came down from the carriage, withdraw some wheat grains on the woven straw bag hanging on the side and starts feeding Xiao Hui. But a few minutes later, a group of goblins including the one working with him for the last two days appeared from the pond's direction.

"There must be about 12 goblins here. What is their motive to come here in this number?" Mu Qing Lang finally realized that he just forget about the fact goblin are one of the dangerous creature living in this Chang Emperor Prairie.
