RE:Chance

12 My name is Jeff

Oliver and Romano were sitting in Romano's living room on the 18th floor of the Midnight hotel.

"Romano, although I don't doubt your competence, but I do need to test your capabilities."

Romano gave a firm nod, "I understand where you are coming from boss."

Oliver gave a small smile and continued, "Awesome! Now, I have the first mission for you. I want you to complete it with the best of your abilities."

"What do I have to do boss?"

"It is very simple actually. I will send information about a girl named Brittany Jones on your phone. I want to personally kill her by tomorrow, of course without any legal repercussions. Find her and bring her to me."

Although Romano was a bit surprised by Oliver's indifference over murder, but he knew how not to ask unnecessary questions.

A small ding sounded from Romano's phone indicating that a new email had been received.

"Yup, there comes the mail."

"Wha...But how did you do it? You were sitting still in front of me the whole time." Romano was to completely awed by the magical displays of his new boss.

"Don't worry. You will get used to it soon enough." Oliver shrugged his shoulders and started walking towards the exit.

Romano quickly followed. "But doesn't that mean that you never plan on telling me?"

"Maybe. Anyways, I heard the rumors about prostitution in your hotels. Are they true?"

Romano answered with a proud expression, "Yes Boss. We have some of the best girls out there in the whole world. Do you want to fuck virgins or veterans? I can immediately arrange for them."

Oliver lightly smacked the back of Romano's head and said, "I don't want to. Immediately stop forcing new girls into it. If the people availing your services are strong enough that you can't offend them then make a list and forward it to me, I will take care of them soon enough. Only girls who have already done it and want to keep doing it will be allowed from now on. I want no new girls entering the market within two months. Understood?"

Romano gulped down all the saliva sitting in his throat and replied weakly, "I will take care of it soon."

'Even though he still has that small and gentle smile on his face why do I feel my spine shivering with this intense fear? Wait...those eyes! I knew something was off about this guy. I have seen enough maniacs in my life to clearly know those eyes. Congratu-fucking-lations Romano! Your new boss is a mentally unstable super-powered freak.'

They had arrived out of the building very soon. When Romano saw that Oliver was using a Honda which looked completely beat-up, he thought of simple but effective plan to on the good side of his boss.

"Boss this car looks trash. You can take my car if you want."

Oliver didn't even turn back to look at him. "No need. This car is perfect for my current needs. And my mother gifted this car to me."

He really didn't want to explain to Lena about how he forced a crime boss into submission and took over his properties.

As Oliver was about to drive away he remembered that he had almost forgotten his primary goal due to the intense anticipation of killing that bitch.

"Hey Romano!"

"Yes boss."

"Bring five people around the age of 18 from your gang. Look for people who seem to be gifted in physical or mental abilities. It will be even better if they have a someone, that they extremely care about, sick with some incurable disease."

Once again Romano was confused with the weirdly specific request of his boss, but he answered yes, nonetheless.

'What should I do now? Hmm..'

>

*Sigh* 'Direct me to the nearest grocery store Grace. Tonight, we will feast.'

....

Lena was a bit stressed out due to one of the difficult cases she was dealing with. As she was making the tough decision between taking a break or plowing through a few more files, her phone rang.

It appeared to be someone with the name Bitch Romano.

*tring~~dling*

Although she really didn't want to take this call, but she had promised to deal with his case to the best of her abilities early this morning.

'That stupid son of mine! Always giving me a headache.'

"Hello Mr. Romano."

"Hello ma'am. Sorry to disturb you but I think we need to sit and discuss some key points about my case. Please tell me when you will be free, and I will come to you promptly."

"What are you trying to get at Mr. Romano?"

"I don't think phone is a very secure form of communication. I hope we can talk face to face when you are free ma'am."

Although Lena was very surprised by Romano's subservient tone, but she was a professional.

"I am free day after tomorrow. You can here between 12 pm to 2 pm."

"Okay ma'am. Have a nice day. I will see you at exactly 12 pm day after tomorrow."

.....

"Emily you have been doing a great job these past few days, but today was just phenomenal. I have never seen someone express pain so clearly with just their body language. Keep up the good work and I may just have a great opportunity for you in the near future."

A slightly plump middle-aged woman with a kind smile was talking to Emily. She was the owner and the only teacher at Emily's acting school.

Emily gave a polite bow. "Thank you miss Price. I will try my best to keep improving."

Looking at Emily who wanted to say more but was hesitating to, started making miss Price a bit curious. She had been teaching Emily for over 8 months now and she was perfectly how straightforward Emily could be. Now, she wasn't a nosy woman but if something concerned one of her favorite students ,Price thought it would be prudent to find a bit more about it, lest she lose a potential superstar.

"What happened Emily? You can talk to me about it if you want."

Emily took a deep breath and put on a determined expression. "Miss Price, would you happen to know some job opportunities for me. I have run into some financial crisis and –"

Price firmly gripped Emily's shoulder before she had even finished speaking and said, "Don't worry child, I know how shit life can be. I will see what I can do. And you can delay your tuition payment by a month if you want. I know this isn't much but unfortunately this is all I can do."

Emily was so happy and emotional right now that a big fat teardrop almost got out.

'I don't know what I did to have amazing people like Oliver and miss Price in my life, but I swear to myself I will never forget their kindness.'

After thanking miss Price a few times Emily walked out of her class. A petite blonde girl was waiting for her at the entrance of the building. In fact she looked dangerously petite, as if she was a malnourished person.

"Hey Ashley! Sorry for being late. Miss Price was giving me some feedback, so.."

Ashley gave a bright smile in response and said, "Don't worry Em, I just got here about five minutes ago. So, how was your day? Today I went to your work place but that hippo there said that you were fired. I tried calling you, but it kept saying that your phone is out of reach. I even tried going to your apartment, but there was a lock on the door. Everything alright girl? I almost called the police but then I remembered how troublesome they can be. If you didn't come here within 15 minutes, I was seriously going to the police station."

Emily gave Ashely a tight hug and said, "Sorry for worrying you. A lot happened yesterday, and I forgot to give you a call. I will tell you about it after I have sorted everything out. Just a couple of days."

Ashely didn't struggle at all. She accepted it as if she had been used to doing this for a long time.

"Em we have beeeest-est friends for five years now, you can always share your problems with me. You know that right?" Ashely softly whispered into Emily's ear.

"Thanks Ashely! That means a lot to me."

"But you know what Em? I think we are kinda creating a scene out here at the entrance. Wanna go home?"

"Oh no! Let's get out of here."

Emily and Ashely jogged out of the building and started walking towards the nearest bus stand.

But before they could walk more than ten steps, they heard a whistling sound. Instinctively they turned around to find the source of the sound. It turned out to be a group of five boys. They tried to ignore them and move on, but the boys weren't having that.

The hooligans quickly surrounded both girls.

"Hey girls! Want to have a nice time tonight?"

Emily hid Ashely behind her bigger frame and said, "We aren't interested. Move away right now. We need to be somewhere."

They wouldn't be called hooligans if they were so easy to deter though.

"Girl a bomb like you would be a perfect addition to the party. I am telling you, this will be best night of your life."

Before they could proceed any further a grey Toyota pulled over in front of them. A buff man with hideous scars on his face jumped out of the car. It was none other than Jeff.

"Hello miss Emily. I'm Jeff. Mr. Oliver has ordered me to pick you up. Let me take care of the trash in a moment, and then we can go ahead."

Without even trying to hold a conversation with the five boys, Jeff rushed at them and punched at their lower jaws. They were out before they even understood what had transpired.

Jeff then proceeded to grab each of them by their legs and dumped them into a trash can nearby.

.....

*A few minutes later*

"Psst..how did we get into the car with such a suspicious looking person?" Ashely asked Emily in what she thought was a sneaky manner.

"Oliver did just message me that someone named Jeff will pick me up." Emily answered back in a slightly helpless tone.

"Who is this Oliver? Seems like the wrong kind of person."

"Hey! Don't talk about Oliver like that. He-"

"Oh! The lament of a best friend. You found yourself a boyfriend and forgot all about your bestie."

Emily lightly smacked Ashely and continued, "Its not like that you dolt. Even I don't understand what is going on."

After a few more moments of silence Emily tried talking to her driver Jeff.

"So, it won't be a problem to drop Ashely at her home, right?"

Jeff answered back in his usual polite tone. "Miss Emily, I am your personal chauffeur and this car is for your personal use. Mr. Oliver has put only one restriction right now, and he may have already informed you. Neither I nor this car can be present on the street his mother's house is at."

"Oh!..."

'Seems like Oliver wants to keep this a secret from his mother. But then why tell me in the first place? He clearly knows that I will be living there from now on. What if I reveal it unintentionally? Ah! This is making no sense...'
