Farsian: The King of Vampires

37 First Mission

Farsian soon understood how things were handled here. First you would take a test that would determine your current strength and then you would choose a master or a class if you didn't have the money to pay for a master yourself. Classes were divided into magic, stealth and combat. Somebody that was part of a combat class would have access to a training hall and a mystic art that would help him become stronger. That was the same with the other two classes, each giving a place to train and a special bonus to make yourself stronger.

If you had the money to afford a master for your own you would then be showered with good techniques and perhaps spare items that your master didn't need anymore. It was essentially a system in which the rich had a special bonus when compared to the poor.

Farsian was already ordered to come before the administrative office where he would then receive his new mission to gauge his strength.

Today Farsian would go to the administrative office to receive his first mission. Joelle had told him a lot of things about the first mission one would have to do. Apparently the most important thing was not to die, as you would be alone the whole time. Kaiser also gave him a special coat and a pair of daggers, Farsian was sure that there would be no problem what so ever on his mission.

Soon he stood before a big ornamented double door.

"This is it, time to go inside." Farsian said to himself almost as if to encourage himself.

"Welcome young one, everything is prepared for your journey up north." One of the clerks said to him as he handed him a bag full of items that could help him in tricky situations.

Many young vampires had already died an early death because they lacked sufficient preparations.

The school then took it upon themselves to ensure a general grade of safety, they simply lost too many precious prodigies.

The clerk didn't seem interested in Farsian anymore after he handed him the bag and instead turned to other waiting vampires in the line. Farsian took the bag and thanked the man, he then left the office.

"Well that was weird." Another younger vampire said as he left simultaneous with Farsian.

"Yes that was really weird." Another one said shortly after. They were apparently not talking with Farsian and instead were just talking with one another. Farsian was mildly confused by all this and turned to leave, but before he could he saw that one of the two other vampires that walked out just now crushed something that looked like a pebble and then vanished into thin air.

Intrigued Farsian stopped for a second. The other vampire saw that Farsian stopped and smiled slightly before he approached him.

"Hey, did you never see someone teleport away before?" The other vampire asked in bemusement.

"No I usually walk or travel by horse." Farsian replied.

"Haha, me too. It would be to expensive to teleport everywhere, but the school is rather generous. They even provide teleportation stones that teleport you in the general direction of your Missions location."

"And where would that be?" Farsian asked, the clerk didn't really say much to him.

"There is a note in your bag that describes your mission objektive as well as everything that would help you achieve it." The other vampire pointed at Farsians bag.

He then went on to explain the other contents of the bag which were really just another teleport stone that could teleport you back into the castle should you ever get into trouble. There were also some small rations that would last Farsian a day at most. And a map that he could use once he arrived at his destination.

Farsian then thanked the other vampire and turned to leave, he would say goodbye to Joelle and Kaiser before he would teleport away.

Farsian then walked towards Joelles room. If she wasn't training with her master, she would usually be there. When he reached the door he could hear people talking inside. He recognized the voices, they belonged to Kaiser and Joelle.

"What do you think will be his mission?" Joelle asked.

"I doubt that it would be something easy, he is one of us after all. It has to be mid or high grade priority." Kaiser said.

Farsian then knocked on the door before listening to them further.

"Who is there?" Joelle said through the door.

"It's me Farsian."

Joelle opened the door as soon as Farsian finished speaking.

"Farsian!" Joelle hugged him as soon as they saw each other.

"We thought you would have allready left." Kaiser said as he came from the back of the room to the front door.

"Well I thought I might say goodbye before I leave, maybe you got some usefull tips before I go?" Farsian replied as he entered the room, not wanting to discuss this further on the doorstep.

"What is your mission?" Joelle asked full of anticipation.

"Does it matter?" Farsian replied as he looked her in the eyes.

"Offcouse it does we have made a bet on what mission you would get. If it isn't anything good I will lose money." Kaiser said as he reached for Farsians bag.

"Relax I haven't read the description yet, you will have to wait untill after I have sorted all the items."

Farsian the began opening the bag and spilling all the contents on the floor, the three of them sat down together around the contents and started studying the mission description.

Farsians mission was rather simple all he had to do was go to a certain location and claim the place in the name of the Vampire Covenant of Mern. Once he did that and could hold the place for at least a week he would have successfully accomplished his mission.

"Well that is rather easy, I was thinking of something bigger?" Kaiser said as he came to the realization that he had lost the bet with Joelle.

"You owe me some money." Joelle said with a smirk.

They talked casually like this for the rest of the evening before Farsian said his goodbyes and went to his own room in order to pick his daggers and his cloak.

When he entered the room he saw his bed that was neat and tidy, his closets and of course his daggers and his cloak. He went on to organize everything for his trip to the north.

When he was finished he recalled that he still had some servants on the main land that he could use, but as the job was a rather simple one he decided against it. Farsian crushed the teleportation stone.

He could feel the space around him distorting at a horrible pace, everything seemed to spin in circles. Farsian could feel himself becoming sick, it was really horrible. His vision blurred as he vanished from the room, everything around him became black.

Farsian could see specks of light flash by around him, blinking in and out of existence. All he could think about was that he would rather not use the teleport to go back home again, if possible he would like to never be teleported again.

Soon the specks of light formed together and seemed to connect with one another as they formed an image of something that looked like a small village in a snow storm at night. The lights in the windows were still on and people could be seen running from place to place. In between everything that was happening Farsian appeared out of nowhere.

*Crack!

Thunder could be heard as Farsian appeared. Everyone clearly heard the thunderous sounds echo in the air.

Luckily for Farsian no one seemed to care, shrugging it off as part of this horrible weather.
