Obey Me

CH 43

Legend from Rumors

Warning: Gore scene ahead, read at your own discretion

It was after sunset that Count Buchanan realized that it was not just a delay for Kyrie Buchanan to return home. Cesar Buchanan was furious, his eyes were turned upside down at the thought that he might lose his own daughter, the strongest political player.

“Right now! Find Kyrie! Bring her in front of me!”

“We’ve sent a man now, my Lord!”

“She’s worth 120 billion dollars! 120 billion dollars! Damn it! It’s the most important time!”

Under Cesar Buchanan’s leadership, the Count’s soldiers and government forces were deployed to find Kyrie Buchanan.

At this time, the Count’s men noticed that the royal reinforcements were very lukewarm about Kyrie’s search. But they didn’t dare to say it out loud.

It was midnight without much income. People realized that there was something more terrifying than the disappearance of Kyrie Buchanan itself.

The Legendary Lord Nathaniel.

He sat in the drawing room with the lights off and waited for the one who didn’t come. Leaning back against the back of the chair, in front of the chessboard, with his legs twisted, his fingers crossed and his cane horizontally placed between his thumb and index finger.

He waited. He knew some stupid people were trying to break down the cute, little sandcastle-like ecosystem created by Kyrie, but he had to overlook it for a very short time.

However, the night was too short, and the sky was filled with snow clouds. Finally, a thin vertical beam of light climbed quietly on the chessboard, and she did not come in the end.

And he went crazy. Quietly and surely.

6. Isolation

It was a dark room where Kyrie lost her consciousness and what she saw as soon as she opened her eyes.

‘Is this..?’

She tried to raise herself carefully, but her arms and legs were tied up. Kyrie quickly recalled what had happened before she fainted.

‘There was an attack on the way home from the WeTrust in the carriage.’

She never thought they would choose the middle of the capital even if they had to do that. As the disturbance outside of the carriage intensified, Kyrie had no choice but to hold MarryAnne and wait in a tense state.

At that time, green snake-like smoke began to creep into the carriage, and she remembered that MarryAnne, who saw it, waved her hand forward.

‘Run away, Miss!’

The blue light exploding in MarryAnne’s hands was the last thing Kyrie saw.

Kyrie looked around. It was a black, square room. There were no windows, and tapestries embroidered with geometric patterns were hung everywhere.

They were so complicated that she felt dizzy even if she looked at it for only a little while. After seeing the incense lamp lined up at the edge of the room, Kyrie quickly grasped the situation.

‘It must be Julia. Controlling me with mind-control magic so that I can be more comfortable with it....’

After realizing that far, Kyrie shook her body with a sense of blood escaping from her whole body.

‘If Nathaniel finds out about this, it’s over.’

Kyrie took a quick breath and crawled over to the front of the door with her knees on the ground.

“Is anybody there?!”

She began to shout with a burst of voice.

“Please! Let me go, whoever it is! I have to go back home! Don’t let him know!”

She thought she had screamed like that for a long time. However, no one came, and Kyrie’s voice was faster to rest than to raise.

“Cough, ugh, cough...! Please..!”

She tried to twist herself to get out of the bondage somehow, but it didn’t work. Sweat poured out like rain, and her mind jumped because of the confusing patterns in the narrow room because of the emotional state,

Kyrie put her knees up and buried her face in between. It resulted in a rustling sound in her arms, so she was startled for a moment, but when she looked at it, it was a piece of leaves hidden inside of her collar.

‘MarryAnne..’

Kyrie’s vision was blurred when she saw the unruly clumped leaves. She clenched her teeth and shook her head.

‘I don’t think she would have harmed MarryAnne because she’d want to save me and keep using me.’

Kyrie took a slow deep breath and forced herself to remain calm.

‘Since I’ve been fine for so long, there’s no problem breathing. I can’t get confused for no reason.’

“The shape, the layout, and the decorations of the room must all be for the mind-control magic, so why did I not get enchanted by it?’

‘Is it because of MarryAnne’s leaves?’

‘Or what happened before she even brought it in and tried the magic?’

‘You’ll need powerful magic to keep one thing from happening at the bay, and that’s only possible for Orewinbridge. That’s why this is the palace.’

‘Seeing that I don’t feel hungry as I eat regularly, it’s clear that time has not passed long.’

Thousands of thoughts swelled and burst in Kyrie’s head over and over again. Kyrie took control of her breath, which kept getting rough, in order to suppress her irritation. Basically, thanks to her calmer personality than others, Kyrie quickly regained her composure.

‘Let’s wait. They wouldn’t have put me in a place where anyone could access it, so it’s not a good idea to take energy out in advance. If someone comes, I’ll try to negotiate, and when I do, I have to run with my feet.’

At that moment, Kyrie decided what was the priority and headed to the lamps surrounding the room.? She struggled to pull out the scented candle from the inside of the lamp and laid it out on the floor.

There were also custom-made products that were only used by the Royal Family, but most were ready-made. Scented candles have different burning times depending on their size, so time would be able to be measured.

Kyrie closed her eyes and focused on breathing to prevent confusion. Some of her (people) will surely come to save her.

“Anyone would be fine....before it snows.’

While Kyrie closed her eyes and focused on preserving her physical strength, there were three big earthquakes. She soothed her rough breathing as she looked at the scented candle. The noise outside was barely audible, but the occasional high-pitched vibrations prevented Kyrie from reaching out.

In silence, Kyrie gave up hope slowly.

‘It’s been ten hours at least. Since I’m not hungry, it’s probably not morning yet, but.....’

It was too optimistic to expect Nathaniel to not know about this now. Kyrie’s coolness calmly took the next step.

‘If the Royal Family had fallen.... No, I don’t know if Sel Arellano itself is okay.....’

No matter how calm Kyrie was, it was difficult for her to remain calm for a long time without knowing when she would be rescued as she was kidnapped. Her patience was being crushed and gnawed in that narrow room.

Tak, tak, tak

At that time, a long-waited sound was heard in Kyrie’s ear.

“....!”

It was footsteps

She crawled to the door, forgetting her dignity, but her throat was not able to shout without a sip of water. Fortunately, it seemed that someone was approaching the room where Kyrie was.? At the end of someone’s sobbing, whispering and opening the lock, the door that was closed finally opened like a surprise box.

“Keugh, hic, hic.....”

The first thing she heard was a cry. Kyrie closed her eyes to prevent blindness, then she took time and slowly looked ahead.

“Please.....”

It was an immature young man who opened the door.

“You are....?”

“Please.... Please, save me.....”

“The outfit... Was it the one in Princess Julia’s palace?”

Ragged clothes, hands and feet on the verge of frostbite. The young man nodded violently and began to pour out tears. He threw out his locks and keys and sat down, covering his face.

“Please....Please, because we did something wrong, because we did something wrong, please stop.....”

“Stop..? Hold on. What do you mean?”

“I didn’t expect this..... I didn’t think I’d do this....!”

She felt suffocated. The young man cried and released the restraint of her arms and legs. Muscles that had not moved for a long time creaked, but she was able to walk.

“What happened outside?? Was it the Princess who brought me?

“Just, I was just going to lock him up for a second, to do, that kind, heuk, in a row....”

”Tell me what happened!”

The young man trembled as if he were frightened by Kyrie’s scolding.

“I, I don’t know.. I’m just a servant of Her Highness! By the way, Her Highness brought you in, locked you up..”

“Then!”

“I saw you locked up in the evening. I didn’t help, believe me, believe me..!”

“Then what?”

The young man’s face turned white. He flinched like a newborn lamb, whispering something as if extracted from fear itself.

“The Legendary Lord came..”

***

The young man was Julia’s man.

The role of the young man was to guide visitors at the entrance of the palace, and for that reason, he was the first person to see the Legendary Lord approaching the Princess’s Palace.

When he saw a man, wearing a black robe and holding a cane, walking up from afar, the young man knew at a glance that he was the Legend from the rumors.

He was an foreign man like a black horse in a flower garden, a newborn in front of a grave, and a hair on a plate. He was the most beautiful, but beyond that smile, a ferocious and savage monster dancing.

In other words, the mere sight of him made him shudder with inauspiciousness.

The Legend came to him with a cloud of snow and spoke with a warm smile.

[Guide to the Princess]

With blue eyes colder than ice in front of him, they couldn’t have said, ‘Hold the meeting.’

The young man took the Legendary Lord to the Princess. Perhaps it was because of the matter with Kyrie Buchanan that she brought in with a fainting spell in the late evening.

Julia seemed a little embarrassed by the Legendary Lord that came in even before the day began. But she skillfully guided him to the sofa.

“You’re the Legendary Lord. What brings you here?”

[Orewinbridge.]

He did not sit down and spoke with a soft smile.

[Where’s Kyrie?]

Even at this time, the man thought that all this would be resolved by the common sense of human beings. Conversation, argument, maybe a little bit of violence. Just that much.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Miss Kyrie?”

This complacent expectation was immediately shattered.

Julia smiled at the Legendary Lord’s question as if she didn’t know the reason. When Julia finished speaking, he raised his left hand to cover his face.

[Ha.]

And the silent sound of laughter.

[That’s right.]

Shortly after, a white sword that appeared in an instant cut off Julia’s limbs. It was a one-sided conviction without warning such as ‘I will kill you’ and ‘I know your sins’.

Julia fell to the ground after a few seconds. A few seconds later, she struggled with her upper arms and legs and shouted like crazy.

“Keu, uh, ack! Ahh, Ahhh-!”

The Legendary Lord looked down with innocent and pure eyes like a child observing ants. It was a clear and clean gaze that showed no appreciation, guilt nor pleasure that he had just cut off someone’s limbs.

The knights who heard the Princess’s scream entered.

“An intruder!”

“Protect Her Highness, the Princess!”

“B, but he’s....!”

“Shut up and seize him!”

The knights were no match for the Legendary Lord. They died fruitlessly. The cruelly beautiful sword broke dozens of knights in half so easily.

Nevertheless, the Legendary Lord’s clothes did not get disorganized at all. He had a child-like, innocent face from beginning to end, and even after splashing blood everywhere could not make it dirty.

At last, silence came.

As the Legendary Lord looked around, he lifted Julia’s hair, which was wriggling on the floor like a caterpillar, with his hand that was without the sword.

“Ahak! Ahhhh! Aaah! Heuk...!”

Blood did not flow from her body. The young man belatedly realized that the cut-off cross-section had rapidly froze.

The Legendary Lord held the screaming Princess in his hand like a pack and smiled as flat and neat as a doll. Then he turned around and looked at the young man.

If he had asked for the location of Kyrie Buchanan here, he would have been relieved.

However, he looked down at Julia Orewinbridge in his hand and asked the young man tenderly.

[Is there a lake or a pond nearby? I have something to throw away.]

The young man realized. Whatever he thought, he would commit more than that, and the only person who could stop him was Kyrie Buchanan.
