SETTING:

All the events in this novel are set in the far-off future, but may occur in places that are both fictional and non-fictional in nature.

The story begins in the man-made paradise called Elisium which is located in the middle of a desert, detached from the rest of the world. Elisium has classrooms and various recreational rooms for the children and adults to enjoy. The children in Elisium are educated in Alchemy and Spells. Children with remarkable prowess are promoted to Elisium's Sanctuary, where all the outstanding students of Elisium gather.

But behind the utopia that Elisium has is a secret research facility which only the adults and researchers of Elisium can access. Elisium was created by Silas Fidi, a Magno Deorum, who wants to research on Talents. Elisium is separated into multiple levels that stretch underground and contains holding cells where children are locked up in. The research facility and the area where the children live in are separated by a thick and seemingly indestructible white wall.

Alchemy and magic exist in the world alongside special abilities called Talents. Talents are powers or special skills that can grant a Talent holder with unique abilities (Eg. the power to control fire, the power to sense the emotions of someone else, the power to control computers, the ability to use any instrument you touch etc). No two people can have the same Talent. Talents can only be acquired by a different person after the original holder's death. (More about this will be in the future)

Future volumes will take place in different fictional parts in the world (eg. Myron, where Luminae Academy and the High Council of Alchemy and Mystics will be located).

CHARACTERS:

Volume 1:

373/Aria - The main protagonist. Small brown haired girl with black eyes. Should be 14 years old but her consciousness is that of an eight-year old after Silas Fidi preserved her body due to an staged accident. Serious and normally quiet but can act like a spitfire when provoked. Very curious. A genius at spells. Has a mind and temperament that's beyond her age. Her Talent allows her to read thoughts. In the future, she realizes that her Talent is a power over memories. Frequently sneaks in to the restricted section of Elisium's Library to read complex books on anything that interests her.

Michael Caelum - Red-haired 17-year old male. Has Central heterochromia. Currently an intern in Elisium. Has a warm and friendly personality. Was Aria's friend from before she was taken away by Silas Fidi. His mother was Silas Fidi's researcher at the time Aria was taken by the Great Apothecary. Is the only person who remembers Aria. Wants to save Aria from Elisium. Has the Talent to erase memories.

Salamander/Leon - A young ten year old boy with the Talent of Salamander. Body has fast regenerative abilities which keep him alive and has the power to summon flames. Can't control his power over flames. Has wild blonde hair and electrifying azure blue eyes. Is a prisoner in Elisium's holding cells and is a regular in Elisium's operating theater. Isn't picky with food and is easily annoyed.

Silas Fidi - A Magno Deorum also referred to as the Great Apothecary. Is the founder of Elisium. Has orange upturned eyes and hair that looks like it was dyed in blood. A genius when it comes to Alchemic research. Obsessive Compulsive. Doesn't care about anything else aside from his research. Time conscious. Wants to research about death. Likes spaghetti.

Asha Claire - Blue hair and dark blue eyes. Usually wears red spectacles. Silas Fidi's disciple. Obsessed with gaining approval and appreciation from her master. Everybody else is beneath her notice. Is actually more than a century old. Wants to know the secret of eternal life and will do anything to live forever. Grouchy. Has the Talent of Calculation.

Jeorge Marcus Grin/Bob - A senior researcher and is one of Silas Fidi's trusted men. Loves being lazy. Enjoys coffee and working at the last minute before the deadline. Secretly fond of Michael Caelum and secretly helps 373 behind Asha Claire and Silas Fidi's backs. Extremely long winded and tends to go off tangent when he talks. He just likes being called Bob and will insist on being called Bob. Tends to make people speechless. Hates work. Hates his job. A big lean guy with an 'okay' heart.

Astaroth - Duke of Hell that has been caught by Asha Claire and Silas Fidi. Has been chained and contained in a secret room that contains multiple seals and is locked by the Doors of Destiny. Has a perfectly chiseled body, black hair and golden eyes. Promises to form a contract with 373 if she manages to free his soul from the room he is sealed in. Will snub everyone except 373. Languid and laid back.

Maria Caelum – Michael's mother. Has the same shade of amber hair as Michael but has green eyes. A researcher under Silas Fidi that is recalled to Elisium in order to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a research subject none of the staff can remember. Is very serious about her work in Elisium but tells Michael that she doesn't enjoy it to keep appearances.

Gabriel Fernandez – a round boy who doesn't like it when people look down on him. Wants to shine at every opportunity. Good with Fulcio and may be outspoken at times. Slightly a show off.

Zain Amina – 373's classmate and ranked one in the class of Aquarius. Has dark skin, black hair and bright brown eyes. Has long limbs. Quite skilled in combat and is the person that brings out 373's skills to light. Feels eternally grateful to the adults of Elisium from saving her from the streets.
