14 Like an eternity
Sam was personally picked up by Miguel in her detention cell and shipped to Tijuana State Prison. On the way there, Miguel did not say a word. After 10 minutes, he stopped and released her handcuffs. He did not remove the ankle cuffs. As he continued the journey, he told her that he was at risk of Sam being able to escape. Then, just before the election, he would have to put up with annoying reporter questions and admit he had failed at the job. Not a good recommendation for his new election.
After about an hour, he turned off the main road and drove to a secluded parking lot. He opened the door for Sam and wordlessly gave her a lit cigarette. Sam gratefully accepted her, her first cigarette as it seemed, endless hours. The last cigarette she had smoked in the gazebo. It seemed like an eternity.
Miguel kept enough distance from Sam so she could not hurt him with the burning cigarette. Sam grinned, he was certainly a well-rested and successful law enforcement officer. Miguel paced up and down in front of Sam, like a captive Tiger in the circus.
In checkered words, he told her that they were headed for the only mixed jail in Mexico. Out of necessity, the government was forced to temporarily house inmates of the State Women's Prison in the Tijuana State Penitentiary until the dilapidated Frauenknast building was renovated and released by the Building Inspectorate.
For one thing, Miguel had chosen this prison because the director was a nationally known corrupt pig, firstly, because it was well known that it was extremely hard in this store and that just the women there did not have much to laugh about. The director's nickname was whispered to everyone behind the scenes, La Mortida, the bribe.
When Sam started to protest, Miguel cut her off. He had to make outwardly believable that he could do her something worse than death, he had owed his reputation as a tough supervisor. He concluded his hectic speech with the words, "This is how it works here in Mexico, the way you look, you'll be fine, let yourself be fucked and offer your body to the men who can help you in your situation and I will buy you as fast as possible. "
Sam snapped the smoked cigarette away with her fingers. "Would not be the first time that my body is my only asset."
Miguel nervously fingered a cylindrical tube from his trouser pocket. He held out the silver thing to Sam.
"Here, that will make your first days easier, because there are two 50 dollar bills in it."
Sam looked at the silver tube. It narrowed at one end, with a rounded tip. At the other end there was a thin cord about 20 cm long. Sam dawned on it. "Will you please tell me where to hide it?" She glared at Miguel.
Miguel shrugged equably. "We routinely examine only the body orifices that are the same in men and women, so you should choose a body orifice that a man does not have."
Sam looked at him indignantly. Miguel fished a pen from his breast pocket and held it out to Sam. "Push it in as far as it goes, if you did the routine search, they gave you the prison clothes, get that thing out and put it in your pocket, then nothing should go wrong."
Sam glared at Miguel, who returned her gaze indifferently, without showing any emotion.
"Do you want to watch me doing that?" Sam poisoned him.
Miguel turned without a word and sat behind the wheel. Sam looked at the silver thing and the pen in disbelief. Her eyes fell on her feet connected by a chain.
"Take off my ankle cuffs, how else can I put this thing inside me if I can not break my legs?"
Miguel answered with a decisive "No."
Sam swore, stepping behind the police car and out of Miguel's immediate field of vision. A warm breeze stroked her heated skin. The sun was reflected in the silver tube and painted twitching light reflections on Sam's forearm.
She put the two items on the trunk lid and opened her jeans. She pulled jeans and panties up to her ankles, looked again at the cylindrical tube and sighed. Looked like a tampon that was a little too big, that should not be so difficult. Sam squatted with his knees turned outward, guiding the thing between her legs. She tried to relax as far as possible to offer little resistance to the thing. She pushed it slowly upwards, through the smooth surface it worked amazingly well.
When her middle finger could not feel the end of the tube, she looked doubtfully at the ballpoint pen in the trunk. How far could you put such a thing in yourself without hurting yourself? Pragmatic as she was, Sam thought, "When it starts to hurt, just stop."
With one hand she grasped the cord of the tube.
The idea of ??not being able to reverse and carrying the thing in jail was not a particularly comforting thought. With the other hand she pushed the pen in and carefully maneuvered the silver thing inch by inch into her body. When she could feel only 5 cm of the cord, Sam stopped. Well, at least it did not hurt.
She got dressed and threw the pen away. She could hardly hand it over to Miguel again.
Sam sat down in the passenger seat of the police car and pushed forward between his clenched teeth. Miguel continued in silence.
After about two hours they reached their destination. Sam craned her neck to see as much of her new 'home' as possible through the side window of the car.
Gloomy the sand-colored building loomed before Sam. The design reminded her of a huge, impregnable fortress. Numerous, tiny windows had been carved into the stone. Each was equipped with bars.
