Chapter 118: Assembly of the Best

Chapter 118: Assembly of the Best

Divine Restaurant, which was situated near the hotel, ended their business early tonight.

Restaurant passers-by were all green with envy as the harmonious music produced by the Chinese instruments slowly flowed into their ears.

Divine Restaurant was widely known for its marvellous interior decor and top-quality dishes. Even their waiters and waitress were all graceful and good-looking. It was said that the banquet at Divine Restaurant was no worse than the palace’s banquet. To a commoner, a trip to Divine Restaurant was a thing worth boasting about for months.

Which wealthy customer has booked the whole restaurant?

Due to the Qilin festival, Tianyun City was currently filled with tourists, especially the hotel. Many eminent and mighty martial artists were staying there.

Perhaps, it’s one of them?

At Divine Restaurant, the melodic music did not leave at the lobby. The private room was way quieter than what the passer-bys thought.

More than ten differently-dressed youngsters were sitting together to chit-chat.

A guy in a bright shirt who was in his twenties sat in the main seat. He had clear, fair skin, and a relatively thin figure. With the fan in his hand, he looked more like a scholar than a martial artist.

“Brother Shao, I heard that there’s a genius at the Nine Jade Palace. Eighteen wins in the Heavenly Door Competition! Why don’t you introduce us!”

“Nah, not today. Junior Sister Lu went out early this morning.” Shao Zhengyang smiled as he replied to the guy in the bright shirt who was grinning at him.

“Oh really? Or is it because you are unwilling to let us have a look?”

It seemed like a joke, but it was also an attempt to probe for more.

“Brother Kou is right! If she was here, would you have time for me?” Shao Zhengyang replied half-jokingly.

The guy in the bright shirt burst out laughing as he lifted up his cup. “Ah, after hearing this, I’m more interested in meeting her.”

Both of them downed the wine and Shao Zhengyang went back to his seat.

This guy in the bright shirt was Kuo Wei. He was the chief successor disciple of the Heavenly Sea Pavillion. Since the Heavenly Sea Pavillion was one of the top three sects, the competition was ferocious. Every title the successor disciple gained was in exchange for their blood, sweat, and tears. Thus the title’s valuableness — it was something that was far from the Nine Jade Palace’s reach. Not mentioning the chief successor disciple, which was their best from the Harmonization Realm, it also represented one of the top martial artists from the Harmonization Realm in the real world.

Most of the clans had arrived at Tianyun City for the Qilin Festival. Kuo Wei booked the whole restaurant and invited disciples from different clans, and those disciples all felt proud for receiving an invite. Only a dozen or more were qualified to sit here.

Shao Zhengyang knew in his heart that Kou Wei wanted to invite Lu Mingshu, not him. But Lu Mingshu had left the hotel early, and the invitation that was sent out could not be retrieved. That was why he was here right now. Would he even have a spot among the top dogs from each clan? He didn’t know.

What a pity. Junior Sister Lu left the hotel early in the morning. Knowing people here will bring her benefits and even solve the problem that she will be encountering soon.

“...Where’s Qi Sheng? Aren’t you both inseparable? Why is he nowhere to be seen today?”

Shao Zhengyang turned to look at the person who had spoken. It was Yue Lingyin from the Amethyst Phoenix Pavilion. During the previous Qilin festival, she who had just entered the Harmonization Realm stunned everyone with her weapon, Sky Zither.

“Him? He’s more interested in bringing the juniors out than hanging out with me nowadays,” Kou Wei laughed.

Yue Lingyin giggled. “Sounds like Qi Sheng. And he would bring trouble back with him after that.”

“Oh please, I hope not. Tianyun City is not Changzhou. I can’t save him if he gets into trouble with some people that he shouldn’t.”

On the other hand, the topic of the Qilin festival was up in the air again. “I heard that Wei Chunqiu of the Seven Truths Platform will participate. With his ability, he will be one of the best!”

“He had swiftly breakthroughs to the spirit realm these few years. If he wants to be one of the best, this will be one of his last few chances.”

“Ancient Jade Summit hasn’t arrived yet. If Ling Wuxia was here, there would be a good show.”

All of them turned their heads to look at Kou Wei.

“What? Why look at me? It’s not my problem if she comes or not.” Kou Wei burst out in laughter upon seeing their reactions.

Yue Lingyin giggled. “A meeting between the chief successor disciples from the top three clans, how exciting that would be?”

“I’m gonna be a party pooper then. I don’t think she’ll come.”

The rest looked at Kou Wei in shock, “Brother Kou, what makes you say that?”

Kou Wei smiled widely at them, but he didn’t reply.

“Let me fill you all in with the gossip on Brother Kou’s behalf to protect his image.” Yue Lingyin continued the topic. “Are there a lot of female disciples attending this Qilin festival?”

They all tried to recall...

“Most of those who have come have good family backgrounds, but they have ordinary abilities.” Yue Lingyin then turned to look at one of them. “Han Guang, I remember that Elder Luo brought his niece here, am I right?”

That person nodded. “Yeah.”

“Yun, what about your Junior Sister Wu...”

historical

Yun furrowed his eyebrows.

“Senior Sister Yue, what’s the big deal now?” somebody curiously asked.

Yue Lingyin raised her hand. “I have a condition here. What I have said here should be kept within these four walls. I will not acknowledge anything after I leave this place.”

“Say it, say it!” The rest burst into a roar of laughter.

Yue Lingyin played with the cup on her hand and dragged her voice out. “The Alioth Star-Lord of the Seventh Truths Platform might be getting married.”

All of them were taken aback by this information.

So those female disciples came here for this?

Some couldn’t hold back their curiosity and asked, “But Lin Wuxia... she’s far from his reach.”

“Don’t forget who has his back.” Yue Lingyin pointed out. “If that person wants it, the Ancient Jade Summit would be hard to reject anyways.”

So, Ling Wuxia wouldn’t be here.

It was not bad to have some connections with that person, but if it meant selling off one’s disciple that was full of potential, then it wasn’t worth it. Furthermore, the Ancient Jade Summit was not a small clan. They couldn’t afford it.

Silence took over the dining table, followed by a disgruntled comment. “Who does he think he is? Wanting to get Ling Wuxia? ” The comment was filled with sarcasm.

Kou Wei smiled. “It’s his problem that he wants it. What has it got to do with us? Come, drink up!”

Laughter filled the dining table once again.

“I heard that there’s a trend in Tianyun City right now. Something that has to do with the arena I guess? Should we try it out?”

“Let them live. If you participate, what would be left for others to play with?”

...

The medicine paste had formed its shape, and Pharmacologist Qin was drenched in sweat.

He had been working in this sector for fifty years, and he had never seen such a complex medicine. He tasted it for the umpteenth time, but he still couldn’t find anything special about the pill. No matter what method he used to manufacture the pill, he couldn’t get the same effect. He was a walking medicine, and yet the effect was not there.

This disheartened Pharmacologist Qin, he had made himself a walking medicine to be able to manufacture good medicine, and yet he was unable to make such an easy pill. Was there really such a brilliant method in this world?

Pharmacologist Qin checked his process once again, but since there was nothing much he could do, he stopped.

“Are both parties done?”

Pharmacologist Qin nodded. Seeing that Miss Lu was so relaxed, he couldn’t help but panic.

“Okay! Let’s have the official from the imperial pharmacy do the evaluation.”
