Evolution Theory of the Hunter

Chapter 170

I threw the marble that appeared on my palm to the flustered An Gyu-bum.

“What’s this?”

“The thing you wanted. Why don’t you go ahead and try to use it?”

“How do I use it?”

“I don’t know. I’m not sure about that. Since we’ll be here for a while and have some time you could try thinking about it during that time.”

The problem with the Space Expansion Marble that I recalled.

That is that it can’t be used by someone without the manual.

Frankly, this was an additional option to the van. The same type of thing as the Amphibious Wheels or the Snow Chain. And these were all items that were linked to the manual.

The Snow Chain could of course just be attached to the wheels but it was impossible to use the Amphibious Wheels without the manual. This was the same for the Space Expansion Marble.

If An Gyu-bum were to be able to use this then it wouldn’t be impossible to mass produce and sell it.

10% did seem stingy but money came in proportional to the amount sold it couldn’t be said to be bad.

But if it could only be used through the manual?

That would mean that I have to move myself to install it personally.

In that case, there would be no meaning to a broker like An Gyu-bum.

An Gyu-bum who wrestled for an hour finally let out a sigh as he gave up.

I opened my mouth after expanding the cabin’s space with the marble I received from him.

“You can tell why you can’t use it right?”

“How are you able to use this?”

“None of your business.”

“Hm.... It seems a special ability is needed seeing how you’re not telling me about it.”

Looking at this, his head wasn’t entire that bad.

An Gyu-bum opened his mouth once more.

“Is it a skill?”

“Maybe.”

“So it’s an item.”

“Perhaps.”

“Damn it. I really can’t tell what’s going on in your mind.”

My expression management practice that I did recently is showing its results I see.

He continued talking.

“So you’re saying that you can’t tell me?”

“There’s no hunter that shows their bottom is there.”

“They usually at least say their skill.”

“That’s in the case of a low level hunter.”

Only hunters above a certain level started not wanting their skill to be leaked. Most people only had a single skill slot and they had no choice but to share info on their skills or equipment to be able to hunt in dungeons with their teammates.

Information shared within the party not being shared outside is used as the base though.

Who the hell would keep that.

But if it were to be high level hunters with at least several hundreds of billions they would have several skill slots and they would definitely have a secret weapon or two.

Also, I am able to see through all of that.

Leaving other things aside, I think that the manual at the very least should be kept from An Gyu-bum. If this were to be mass produced then the profit I see from being the sole possessor would disappear after all.

I soon became famous within the submarine. The first thing was that I lived up to my name as the Great Summoner, the second being the cabin I was staying in.

Thinking about it, there was no particular need to hide the fact that there was a space expansion item.

It’s better to show such good items to people that will buy it at a high price after all. Also, the greatest customer was America.

Unless they could use some large scale space expansion on a small ship it would be impossible to pursue recovering trade routes without further technological advancements in that area.

Even if it wasn’t a boat, using space expansion on airplanes would be fine too.

Since weight is decreased proportional to the increase in size there’s no need to worry about the plane not taking off. No, if it’s to raise the price of the space expansion item it’s better to use them on planes.

Even if it’s a bit annoying it would be possible to receive money without going through a medium.

Since I was here already, I thought that it wouldn’t be bad to install it personally.

If they ask for additional installments then I can just tell them to send the plane to Korea so that didn’t become much of a problem either.

***

It took a month to arrive at the San Diego military port.

It was a pretty dull voyage but there weren’t any particularly uncomfortable points.

That’s because I installed the 3 cubit marble in the captain’s room from the marbles I rolled as a test. It was a bit wasteful since it costs 50EP but since 3 cubits is basically a miss I installed it without feeling distressed.

Thanks to that, I was able to arrive comfortably while receiving special treatment. The food was also top tier among what could be eaten in the submarine and I could also wander freely in the submarine.

“Whew. I feel like I’m alive after coming out of the submarine after a month.”

After getting off the submarine and leaving the port building I breathed deeply.

Lieutenant Colonel Reagan came towards me.

“Wait a bit here. Someone will come soon.”

“Well, I don’t really have a place to go anyway.”

An Gyu-bum left ahead of time with people sent from the GE Group. It seems he’s planning on staying at a hotel for the meantime. Edward and I were planning on heading to a housing prepared by the American government.

An Gyu-bum said that he would provide a room but I didn’t want to stick with him as much as possible.

He talked too much for one thing.

He was too annoying so I did ask for him to be moved to another cabin but I gave up after hearing that there weren’t any more empty cabins left.

“But is there really not anymore remaining....?”

“Yes. That’s all I have for now.”

“Tut. A shame.”

Lieutenant Colonel Reagan said so as if it was a shame. It seems to be because of the Space Expansion Marble installed in the captain’s room. He had his own room as vice captain so it seems he was continuously giving me signals to install one for him as well.

But maybe if it was a 1 cubit one, there was no need to expand even his cabin.

It was enough to get on the Colonel’s good side after all.

“I will go for a walk for a bit.”

“I will guide you.”

“No, I want to enjoy some relaxation since I will get busy soon.”

“Can’t be helped then. Don’t go too far.”

I called Han Joon-suk after setting out on a walk. I had applied for roaming when I left for Russia so there was no problem in calling.

Just that I didn’t expect to not have data on the submarine so there was a ton of messages piled up in the Team Delta chatroom.

I left a simple report of survival and called Han Joon-suk.

[Ah. It’s good that you’re alive.]

“I almost died though.”

Thinking about it, the battle with Baek Gyeong was perilous.

Even I who had the passive mindset of it will somehow work out felt threatened when facing dozens of Baek Gyeong after all.

[Either way, where are you?]

“Somehow I ended up in America. San Diego.”

After explaining a few things he let out a sigh of relief.

[How long are you planning on staying there?]

“I will return immediately after finishing a few things. How’s Soo-ah doing?”

[Hear for yourself.]

[Seonbae Oppa!!!]

“Urg.”

Soo-ah’s shout came across penetrating the phone.

My ear rang but this voice was welcoming at the same time.

Instead of getting angry or worrying, Soo-ah started listing everything that had happened until now.

The fact that they got a level 10 item from a level 9 dungeon while I was trapped in the submarine. The fact that team 2 returned safely from the Yellow Sea.

Either way, the appearance of an irregular was more frequent than I thought.

I imagine this is because of the level 0 item that Soo-ah has. What was good is the fact that they can kill a level 10 monster without me. We decided that the level 10 item would be kept by the person best suited for it.

I thought that I didn’t have to worry anymore since they seemed to possess enough ability as a level 10 farming party. Since I also gave 100 Escape Scrolls before leaving there probably won’t be any large dangers.

By the way, I now had more than 200 Escape Scrolls in storage. Too many of these dropped to the point that it became annoying to count them one by one.

“I’ll go soon.”

[I’ll call. You definitely have to answer.]

“Yeah.”

Edward had disappeared after ending the call and looking around.

“Where did this guy go?”

I was slowly walking by the beach when I found him flirting with a few blonde girls next to a cafe.

What should I say. I who was dumbfounded approached him and started talking.

“What are you doing here?”

“Ah. I was answering since they asked for directions.”

Looking at his eyes it didn’t seem like a lie.

But you weren’t even someone from this area in the first place.

“You don’t know the directions either.”

“I don’t know the directions but I can search together.”

“Do as you want.”

I let out a sigh while shaking my head. This guy’s love business had nothing to do with me. Even if he was a vampire he wasn’t particularly dangerous either. Since I wasn’t going to forgive him if he ever drank human blood Edward wouldn’t do such things.

I was just about to turn around when a woman that was talking to Edward started talking to me.

“Um.....”

“Yes?”

“It’s you right?”

“What is?”

Just when I was wondering if I had to continue this conversation, she took out her smartphone.

There was a picture of me heroically swinging my sword while riding the Black Tiger.

What is this. This picture makes me look like some general.

“Y, yes.”

“Are you really the Great Summoner? Can I take a picture with you?”

As I nodded, the two people stuck to me excitedly as they took selfies. Edward who was looking at that let out a sigh.

“It seems popularity is great.”

It was pretty fun looking at his crumpled expression.

After taking a selfie, the two women looked up at me as if expecting something.

It felt like I had to bring out the Black Tiger or something. But there was no reason for me to act like a clown. I was about to say my farewells and turn around when another voice of invitation could be heard.

“Would you like to eat together if you have time.....”

“I’m sorry. I’m just on a light walk at the moment. I have a place I have to go to soon too.”

As I cut them down they lowered their heads as if let down.

I felt a bit bad seeing how down they were. It wasn’t like I was good at talking to women and I’m not exactly the fun type.

Someone hit my shoulder.

Turning around, there was a giant white guy almost 190 cm tall looking down at me.

There were two people and one had yellow hair while the other had red hair. The similarity was that they both had huge figures.

They seemed to be hunters seeing how they had an intimidating gaze and scars here and there on their faces.

The yellow haired guy opened his mouth.

“Hey. What are you doing right now?”

“What does it have to do with you?”

“It has a lot to do with me. The one you’re trying to flirt with is my girlfriend.”

“I wasn’t particularly trying to flirt with her though.”

“Do you think I’m blind? I clearly saw you sticking close together.”

“That was to take a picture.”

And I made sure to exercise a manner hand.

In the first place, western girls weren’t really my type since they looked too masculine.

I realized within 10 minutes while walking that girls that look like elfs that come out on television or movies are extremely rare here you see.
