Rise of Destruction

25 Scorchmourne

"You fucking brat!"

"Bite me!" said Amon as he sat down and meditated.

Two weeks had passed and he was in the middle of the Elementary stage. Upgrading a mana ring turned out to be harder and harder as the Vein Scorching Honey was losing its effect bit by bit.

Higher quality was required for Amon, but he was scared from the greeny beehive's honey drop.

Officially, two months were remaining until the competition between the Scorching and Watery battle sects.

For Amon, it wasn't a problem, swordplay was on a good level, [Fiery Claw] and [Fire Palm Blast] were reaching on the profound stage of comprehension as for [Sand Burning Steps], he was closing on the initial stage of skill comprehension.

During this period of time, he became notorious as he would come and fight for every drop of honey that dropped. Since using cultivation here was forbidden and the disciples hadn't tempered their bodies, they were literally 'owned' by Amon.

Amon's blue sword manifestation became better and more detailed as his cultivation and mana quantity and quality increased.

Absorbing the drop Amon stood up and headed towards the area in which the greeny beehive was.

Can't help it...the honey here has no effect on me...

Soon he arrived but the drop was still not falling after six hours.

Maybe I stayed here for too long... I need to reach the late Elementary Stage and come here to upgrade my rings... plus there are pills that can be traded for in exchange for merits... but first...I need to become a sword prodigy.

Getting out from the cave, Amon went home to eat and sleep before heading towards the training hall.

There he found the sword group leader. Walking towards him, Amon spoke. "Elder, I want to take the test for prodigy"

Thomas was staring him from the crowd but dared not to say something even though he had broken through too. The spiritual pressure Amon radiated was far more oppressing than his. He could only grit his teeth and observe.

"Okay, Amon. I will personally hold the test." said the teacher as he threw a sword at Amon.

Catching the sword Amon put it on his waist and adjusted his hands in position for a slash.

The disciples had already backed away so the Elder without worry initiated the first attack.

Slashing, Amon's sword met the teacher's and both backed a step back. Not leaving this advantage slip away, Amon attacked.

The elder wasn't an elder for nothing. He quickly became someone who can fight at Amon's level and the clanging sounds intensified.

After five minutes, the elder pushed Amon away and looked at him as he said. "You grasp every opening and you are also very strong physically...I never expected to have such a young prodigy in my group. I hope you represent us well against Valeera, her sect and in front of the continent as a whole."

By saying that, the teacher threw a badge which Amon caught. Bowing down in respect, he left quickly.

On his way to the weaponry, he bound the badge with his blood.

As for the reason he wanted this badge and was going for the weaponry - it was the prodigy weapon.

Since he had no weapon, one was taken and another was ranked lower and no longer useful to him, Amon had to have a weapon for simple reasons.

Plus, he understood more and more about sword fighting every time he practised the [Dance Of Gan Jiang] and [Dance of Mo Ye].

The sword for him seemed to be the true weapon for killing, now. That was of course because managed to stumble upon training swordplay that turned out to be suitable for him.

He knew very well that he was good with the spear but he was becoming better and better with the sword.

For him, now, the sword was suitable, thus he was becoming good at it. This didn't mean that the sword was the best weapon, rather the one that suited him the most, now.

Entering the weaponry Amon directly showed the prodigy badge and proceeded towards the sword hall.

Following behind him was the elder who was shaking his head while smiling.

'The young are arrogant and playful as always..' he thought.

Amon wasn't a fool. He was a bit prideful as the sect was known around the whole continent and he was a famous prodigy who defeated another with just one hit.

Arrogant and prideful but not to the point to forget his origins, the orphanage, Roger's manor and the short stay in the arena, but he also was smart enough not to let his pride to cloud his judgement.

What he did now was but a playfulness which he did unconsciously.

-----

Looking at the swords Amon was amazed but had still not found a weapon for himself after five minutes. They were either too large or small.

Resting his eyes on a sword named Scorchmourne, he read its description.

Scorchmourne - forged with a metal found under a volcano, the sword is ranked as High Elementary Stage equipment and has the following inscription:

LightHeavy Inscription makes the sword lighter or heavier.

It was normal for weapons to have only one inscription in the sect as what was required was durability and sharpness, depending on the magical equipment, that is. There was also a pact between forces that forbade more than one inscription on equipment above the Initial Stage. This pact could be broken only during wars and of course if you are strong!

Picking the sword Amon executed a few moves. It was a nice sword with the length of an arm and half and width of three fingers.

Except for the grey blade, the handle was black and had some decorations.

"This is it elder. Im taking it!" said Amon excitedly as he bound the sword by blood. Information about it flooded his mind and this made him smile even more.

He wasn't going to have problems using the sword as his upgraded rings had enough mana to cover the one level difference!

"So be it, youngster. I will go register the trade...you're free to leave." after saying that the elder walked away.

Walking outside, Amon was planning his next moves.

Going to the forest close to the other mountain is a good training place.... I will buy some stuff for emergencies before that and head out to hunt!

His monthly salary had stacked up and he was going to use it for buying ropes, medicines and other necessities for hunting in the forest.
